((sorry, meant to type your. this is why I don't post sometimes, my quality slips when I'm tired.))

"Naturally." Katarn nodded. "Which is why I use a whip and blade in combat. balde to deflect blasters, and whip to deflect jedi. So, how proficient are you with the code of the bogan?"

"My studies have varied among many Force groups but I've yet to do an extensive study on the Bogan due to that the Bogan like to keep their data locked up and the best way to learn about them is from first-hand experience. However, I do admit that some of the philosophies that seem to travel among Dark Jedi sects do seem faulty," said Albedo.

((library is here http://www.thestarwarsrp.com/forum/showpost.php?p=574342&postcount=2))

Katarn nodded. "Go to the library, research our code and beliefs, when you feel you are ready contact me and we'll meet again in this training room."

((you can either do a long post where you interact with npc's or a short post where you go there, read, and instantly contact me. Your choice.))

Albedo found his way to the Library. He found a holocron. Engraved on it was a quote from the first Bogan:
No peace, only suffering.
No knowledge, only instinct.
No serenity, only passion.
No harmony, only chaos.
No life, only death.

"Nice words but words do not always mean as what they should," murmured Albedo.
Albedo began researching. He learned that there were five main philosophies.
The first was that all life is suffering. Until you accept this fact, you will never understand anything. Accept the suffering your life will bring. Allow it to motivate you, anger you. However, Albedo disagreed that suffering is everything. Suffering is the conclusion one comes to when analyzing their opinions on one's way of life. To one person, a lifestyle may seem horrible while may be blissful to another. In straight, suffering is all about perspective.
The second was that the Jedi were plagued by indecisiveness, failing to react. They only want to contemplate. When it is time to act the Jedi only want to mediate in their ivory towers. We demand you to act swiftly, not wait on guidance from the Force. Failure to react is a failure to act. Do what you know is right. Still, one has to look at the bigger picture. To just act impulsively may have dire consequences. Instead, one should consider all options, not just solely concerning themselves, before acting. Howeve, there was truth that if one waits too long, the window of opportunity may be gone.
The third was that the dogmatic Jedi would have you believe you can become content, serene, but we know this is a lie. We creatures are not above the need for emotion, for passion. Instead of repression, we only ask that you use your emotions to fuel your power, to guide you, though there is a difference between being guided using bait and being guided with the use of a map. With the bait, one is jerked around, instinctively and impulsively following whatever their id tells them. This can have dire consequences. Instead, one should master their emotions -not supress, but rather have control- as to avoid recklessness, since while Dark Jedi tend to have large egos, that alone won't support them forever.
Fourthly, there is no will of the Force. The universe is chaos. Life is made of random actions that create who we are. Beings cannot be harmonious with one another because they are, in essence, animalistic creatures driven by instinct. Do not avoid this. Use chaos to further your aims and your powers, for chaos brings darkness to existence. Albedo believed in this much so, though disliked the part about animalistic instincts.
Lastly, death is all around us. It is a part of everything, as everything dies. Denying this is denying the meaning of ourselves and the truth to existence: there is no life. We are fleeting creatures in a universe as meaningless as an unused plow. Whatever we are, whatever our meaning, we imbue it; there is no cosmic plan. Either live well or die swift; do not contemplate the afterlife, for that gives way to stagnation. Instead, use your power to its fullest, for there is no reward waiting for those pure of heart. Albedo found this amusing considering many Dark Jedi spend decades trying to search for a means of immortality.
While not written, Albedo knew the rumors of how Dark Jedi killed subordinates for failure. Albedo believed such actions to be a waste. If one is killed after making a mistake, how can one learn from a mistake. Mistakes happen all the time, it's only when you fail to try to correct them do they become problems.

After further research, Albedo returned to where Katarn was waiting. He submitted his report.
With this, I'll be that much closer to gaining the knowledge hidden in the union of data collected from both Bogan and the Jedi Order, mused Albedo, observing to see if Katarn would be able to read these thoughts and react.

Katarn accepted the tablet, glancing at it for little over a second, she tossed it aside. "Now, briefly summarize what you think the code means."

"Basically, it means to use your emotions to go the path you desire and you must do so quickly, as to avoid missing opportunities, since we succumb to pain and death eventually," answered Albedo. "However, it seems a bit too impulsive. One mustn't just rely on anger. Anger blinds people, hampers their judgement. Instead, one should use a variety of emotions, unlike the serene Jedi."

"A very wise description." Katarn nodded. "I too have found that anger can not be fully relied upon. The jedi smell it on your breath and it can ruin a perfectly good disguise. I've had one mission go south do too such a situation."

Katarn changed the subject. "Now, have you decided what kind of Bogan you wish to be? Shall you roam the shadows as an assassin, or will you stride boldly as a Crusader?"

"My path is that of a researcher," said Albedo. "For knowledge is power. While I may not be as lustful for power as my colleagues, I do thirst for knowledge. With knowledge, one has the advantage. With knowledge, one can better themself. With knowledge, predictions and strategies become more effective. In short, knowledge is the key to success. I will admit that brute force is always necessary but is not as much required in the face of information, which can then be used against the enemy in the form of advantageous tactics and deceit."

"Another wise decision." Katarn nodded, smiling. "We rarely get someone so down to earth in the Bogan. Most here lust for so much power that they end up shooting themselves in the foot in the process. So, are you ready to begin learning Niman? Or would you prefer to learn more force powers first?"

"I wish not to sound arrogant but I believe my Force abilities to be adequete for now," said Albedo. "Since I generally travel with my ysalimir, as to avoid my associates from being manipulated from the force, it would probably be wise for me to begin practicing on Niman. Besides, practice of the Force can be done much easier than practicing lightsaber training by one's self."

"Very well." Katarn nodded. She shook her whip from around her leg and drew her blade from her side. "The way of the Rancor is entirely determined by your creativity and your knowledge. The more techniques you know and the better you are at mixing them together, the better you will be at Niman. Grab a couple blades from the wall and we'll begin."

Albedo drew his dual lightsabers from their hiding spot in his sleeves. He lit them.

"Or do that." Katarn blinked. "Now, I'm going to do some basic attacks, you try to counter attack."

Katarn began swinging her whip over her head, sending it spining towards Albedo.

Albedo kept an eye on the whip.
The danger of a light whip is not that it can't be blocked, but rather if one tries to block it, there's the possibility of still getting hit due to whiplash, calculated Albedo. If I want to prevent that, I need to time my swing well enough that I hit the tip of the whip to where it still hits it but not far down enough that it could reach me.
Keeping his eyes on the radius of the twirling light whip, Albedo positioned himself. As Katarn came into zero barrier, Albedo swung his lightsaber, hoping to succeed.

((great so far, but can you write down what your character plans to do later down the line so I know what to expect and how to continue foreward. basically, what will he do if he stops the whip.))

((Example: Katarn rolled foreward. Her whip swinging so it would wrap around Albedo if he did not dodge. She then thrust upwards with her lightsaber in her left hand in case he dodged to the right. She also sent out a wave of the force if he dodged to the left.))((This would stop your character from standing still, dodging left or right, but not from leaping out of the way, or sliding backwards or counterattacking. If you counter the first attack (the whip) by say wrapping it around your blade and yanking, the other attacks become pointless and I take up where you stopped my attack. If the attack impresses you enough, you let it capture you.))

Albedo managed to smack the lightwhip away but realized he had two more attacks coming at him from either side. While he couldn't go left or right, his only options were to go up, back, or counterattack. Counterattacking against a master wouldn't be wise. She would probably expect Albedo to jump or retreat so the best option was to...
Albedo quickly deactivated his lightsabers and slid underneath between Katarn's legs. As he was safely on the other side, Albedo relit his lightsabers and attacked from behind.

Katarn rolled over her arm and came up facing the opposite direction, her blade ready to meet the acolyte's attack. She swung her whip in from the side, aiming for the legs, where they would wrap around the acolyte, tripping him and leaving him easy pickings.

Albedo used both of his lightsabers to lock Katarn's lightsaber in his grip and swung it towards the ground, using her own lightsaber to stop the lightwhip. He then backflipped away from Katarn as to avoid the ricochette of the whip.
"I must say, the Dark Jedi do live to their reputation," commented Albedo as he regained his balance. He got into a defensive stance. "Or at least the masters anyway."
Albedo javelined his left lightsaber at Katarn, aiming at her right thigh.
