@cailist: I think Sheo meant characters being Force Ghosts. And I kinda agree; a Force Ghost would have little use in RP, except for Deus Ex Machina.

Aye, enne ninny had it right. No PC forceghosts, way to easy to make the character god-mod. Plus there's the problem of people using forceghosts to prolong their character and possess others should they die. Basically allows for godmodding way to easily.

There needs to be A LOT more nonhuman characters, or even characters that aren't near-human at all. I get why people don't instinctively want to roleplay a furry quadruped who salivates acid (if that doesn't exist in Star Wars it probably should); it's difficult to do justice to a species that probably doesn't think like we do and whose physiological make up is entirely different. I think that some of the more creative people could pull it off, but meh. I'm not one to talk. I think all of my characters are near-humans or humans.

I think I actually wanted to do one too but I faced the same problem.

Also I'm of the firm belief that someone should eventually roleplay as a female member of that one species with four tits, even if it's near-human.
