I just don't think we are going to agree on the mechanism of defending against Kenny's attack. It should be the Toasty one raising these concerns but he might actually have the plague, so it falls to me. We are nearly at the 4 week deadline and we have tried to work this out. I am going to report so we can get an answer and finish this puppy up.

So, given that it has now been over 4 weeks since the start of PvP in this thread, this ruling will also act as a closing ruling for the thread.

First off, given that Szebat is splitting his focus between two targets in opposite areas and relying on "muscle memory" rather than true aiming in order to fire at Valen, it is a statistical improbability that those shots will actually hit him. As such, Valen's attack to hold Szebat in place is going to be successful. Because of this, any attempt to jetpack out of the way is going to be severely hampered by the Force. The most likely outcome is that the jetpack would be fighting massive resistance from the force and both of Szebat's legs would be caught by the saber slash as his forward (or upward) momentum is severely hampered.

As such, the outcome of the thread is as follows: Szebat loses everything below the knees and is maimed and captured by the Jedi. Shaan is alive and relatively unwounded and is therefore able to escape. This is a Jedi victory.
