Life on Coruscant could be a thrill or dangerously boring. It just depended on when and where you were when things were happening. On this paticular day however, the happenings were as lively as dust on a shelf. There was nothing to see.

After school let out, Kaala had decided to hitch a ride to the nearest ship docking station to people watch. The air, thick with smog, and the incessant chatter of the crowd created a weird sort of privacy. She was surronded, yet unnoticed. It was a weird sensation, but she chose to ignore it. She didn't want to live inside her head today. She wanted to live with her eyes.

The togruta teen lifted herself up onto a ledge where she could watch incoming ships dock and their passengers file out. She liked to imagine the lives they lived; interesting, filled with travels and experiences and much more fulfilling than eight hours of lessons every day. Quietly, she wondered if any of them fet the Force run through their veins like she did. If they could reach out and grab the little rocks on the ground with invisible hands and aim them at the nameless winged vermin that infested the city. If they could put hands on cuts and reveal smooth skin. If they felt alone, like she did.

Absentmindedly, Kaala twirled a rock through invisble fingers. When she came out of her mental vent, she sighed, then flicked the floating rock toward the thick metal exterior of a docked ship.

It hit right on the dot of the "i" painted red on its side.

As Alana sat in the seat on board the shuttle, she stared intently at the brochure she had nabbed from the front. Her eyes scanned over the paper carefully, as confusion began to overtake her facial features, a bit of horror soon followed as she realized the error of her ways. She had gotten on the wrong shuttle. This certainly wasn't Nar Shaddaa, and given how everything outside looked it was either Coruscant or Corellia, but she felt Coruscant was a good hunch; mostly because the announcement droid kept repeating it. "Ah Sith Spit..." She muttered, realizing she had just destroyed most of the budgeting and scheduling she had set aside for the next few months. She was in deep poodoo now.

She didn't have anyone to blame but herself, she had been the one to light up a death stick when booking the flight after all, now here she was on the wrong dang planet and at risk of straining her meager budget if she tried to reroute herself. She sank back into her seat, the last remaining passenger on the shuttle at the moment, and watched as one of the human attendants began to approach her. "Ma'am, we need you to clear off." He said, his tone exasperated as it was clear he wanted to just go home. Alana nodded and let out a sigh, as she got up and collected her things, before marching off the ship. She felt a familiar tug at work around her, and grimaced at the unwelcomed feeling of the force at work. Someone just used the force near her, but she hadn't the foggiest idea who, or what they had done. This obviously only soured her mood, as those distant echos would start to bother her once more. She'd have to find this force user and set them straight, cause if they were going to be using those damn powers it was going to put her on edge, and she wasn't going to be rerouting her trip with her anexity cranked up to eleven. Stepping off the ship, Alana had her duffle bag slung over her shoulder, eyes scanning for anyone clad in that damn jedi attire. Whoever was tapping into that nonsense was getting a stern talking to, as Alana shoved past several people, her patience was about at an end. This was not how she planned this trip at all.

Kaala, in the mean time, had began carefully stacking pebbles on top of each other and was using the Force to keep the otherwise impossible tower upright. It was done with subtlety; she, in general, kept her shenanigans to a minimum in public places.

When she slipped up and the tower fell apart, she returned her attention to the crowd. Her green eyes landed on a pissed-off-looking human with a duffel bag on her shoulder. What sort of life did she live? Was she moving to Coruscant with her meager belongings? Did she take the wrong ship and end up halfway across the galaxy? Did someone pass gas and blame it on her? Kaala giggled at her own immaturity. Or maybe she was a bounty hunter, and that look was her intimidating glare.

Kaala watched her for a minute before returning to the scattered pebbles at her side. One by one she began to rebuild it, her fingers mere milimeters away from the actual surfaces.

Alana could feel the tugs against the force, small annoying little tugs that she could hardly feel, but she knew it was there, someone was out there screwing with her now. The huntress looked around now, her eyes narrowing as she was actively looking for this trouble maker; least that's how she felt about it, anyone calling upon that damn thing was nothing but trouble in her eyes.

Of course, given how many people were milling about the busy shuttle station, it was rather hard to pin it down to any one person, especially when the usage was so weak and diminished, she could hardly even sense it; oh, but it was there, like a clock that ticked irregularly, Alana could sense it. The only question was where, and who was doing it? Ugh, it made her so aggravated she could hardly think straight. Working herself to the edge of the station platform, Alana leaned against the railing and looked all about, trying to see who in the hell was trying to mess with her right now; clearly someone was out to screw with her, no way this was a coincidence.

It appeared as if the duffel bag stranger was lost. She assumed that, upon noticing Alana look feverishly around, because of her expression and almost anxious-movements. She seemed especially bothered. Would it be too much to go ask if she needed help? The togruta glanced around to see if she could spot a clock somewhere. She didn't want to be late heading back home...

Kaala jumped down from the ledge and began to walk over toward the traveler. She knew the area like the back of her hand, so if she needed to go anywhere nearby Kaala could definitely help. Hopefully she didn't need it, though.

"Hey, are you lost?" Kaala called out to her as she closed the final steps between them. "I uh, know the area pretty well if you need any help."

Alana was going increasingly agitated, as she took her seat on the bench, her hand reaching into her coat to grab the one thing that could turn this drek pile of a day around; her deathsticks. She was about to light one up, when this little Torgruta woman seemed to be approached her. Scowling, Alana pressed the deathstick into her palm and slide it back into her pocket; she didn't need to let everyone in on her issues. Alana forced a smile, trying to not let her bad day spill into anyone elses for the time being. The sweet thing was asking her if she was lost, and in a way she was, but not in any way this girl could help here. "Oh, well thank you, but I'm not sure if you can help. See, I booked the wrong flight, now I'm sorta stuck here. Don't suppose you have an idea for how I can fix it?" She asked, curious if the girl had any advice, cause maybe she knew something Alana didn't. "My name's Alana by the way, who might you be?" She asked, pulling her hat back some as some of her silver hair tumbled down.

"Well, I'm not sure if they'll give you your money back..." She seemed to be at fault there, and how in the world did she manage to book the wrong flight? Not that Kaala had ever booked a flight, but she assumed it came with several steps. "...but one of the trade ships might let you hitch a ride. I doubt it'll be as comfy, and some of them are kinda shady...but otherwise you probably...I don't know. I'm just a kid. I don't travel." She did miss her days out in space though. Space was more of a home to her than Coruscant ever was, even if it involved white walls and nothing to do.

"I'm Kaala. I go to school around here." And live in an orphanage with a bunch of dumbasses who can't tell their lefts from their rights. "Where were you planning to go if not here?"

"No, they won't sadly." Alana shrugged, looking to the school girl with a hint of curiosity. What was she doing out here? "I doubt it, they have regulations here sadly, maybe I could have gotten away with it on Nal Hutta. It's alright, I'll figure it out." She muttered, forcing a smile to her face. "I was going to Nar Shaddaa, but I screwed up and got myself dropped off here." The truth was Alana was high on Death sticks when she booked this flight, she just 'thought' she selected the right planet. Clearly she had not. Alana looked up and outwards to the cityscape of Coruscant before her, before looking over to Kaala. "So, what are you doing over here then? Shouldn't you be in school?" Like Alana was one to talk, she hadn't been in school for years now, in fact Kraud had to fight with her to stay in school. She still had a craving to grab the deathstick and light it anyways, but Alana didn't want to expose the girl to such a thing. She still had morals after all, even if she didn't exactly follow them. "Coruscant is a big place, little dangerous for you to be walking about all on your own."

Nar Shaddaa, huh? Kaala couldn't figure out how in the world she screwed that up. She went from an outer rim planet to a deep core one, when all she wanted to do was go to Nal Hutta's moon. They were both ecumenopolises, but that had to be their only similarity. What had she been, drunk? Maybe she shouldn't be quite so quick to judge, but it was hard not to. She tried to keep a poker face as she listened. Must have cost a hell of a lot more, too. Damn.

"My school starts earlier than most, so we get let out earlier too," Kaala answered with a look of dislike on her face. "I hate and like it; I get more of the day but I have to get up so early." There were talks of starting later. She wasn't sure if she was for or against it.

"I'm fine," Kaala stated in response to Alana's assertion. "I've lived here since I was like, eight or nine. As I said, I know the area. There are, um, bad people around here, but the worst thing that happens in big crowds like these is pickpocketing." The teen gestured to those around them. None of them were paying a lick of attention to them, save quick glances from those walking by. It was, as Kaala often thought, privacy in public.

"So um, if you like, don't mind me asking: how did you get from Nal Hutta to Coruscant? Were you drunk or something?" She meant no offense and phrased it with a curious tone. She really was curious. Really, really curious. "I mean I guess it could have been a system malfunction when you bought it." Just in case it sounded too accusatory.
