APPEARANCE:
Kaala, being of the togruta species, sports their multicolored skin, montrals, and lekku. Her skin is a mixture of a reddish clay brown, weathered blue, and white; the brown covers her body, the blue her lekku and montrals, and the white marks both. She’s roughly 5’7” and weighs about 115lbs. Kaala has a lithe, skinny figure with slight muscle definition from a lack of fat, but a sedentary lifestyle has left her otherwise out of shape.
Kaala’s most defining feature, however, is her eyes. Each encircled by two white markings, her green eyes stand out against her dull red skin. She has a strong jawline, soft features, and a button nose. Her skin is relatively pale and she has a smooth complexion from a lack of sun damage.
ATTRIBUTES:

Kaala’s strongest suit is her intellect. She was a gifted learner as a child and although she leveled out as she got older, she still displays good problem-solving skills and the ability to pick things up quickly. She is also much more book-smart than street-smart. Her youth coped up in a station with little to do outside of reading or learning solidified that from a young age. She trusts any book much more than she trusts word of mouth.
Very used to orderly environments and schedules, Kaala has a hard time knowing what to do with herself outside of routine. She loathes diverting from the plan and hates when things go awry. When thrown into an unstructured situation, Kaala will either immediately seek out some sort of structure, attempt to create structure, or stand around useless. Kaala will often overthink situations and will create solutions way too complicated for otherwise simple problems.

“Let’s just stick to the plan” is her life motto, albeit unofficially, and the quickest way to anger her is to throw away a promise.
Despite her love of books and orderly schedules, Kaala has a little monster inside her that yearns to return to the stars. She’s terribly jealous of the Jedi she reads about in her books and wishes to join their ranks one day. Her little wanderlust bug is the only thing capable of tearing her away from her life on Coruscant (other than, you know, a kidnapping).
BIOGRAPHY:
Kaala was born in 121 ABY on a remote medical facility stationed in the expansion region along a trade route which stretched from Coruscant to the outer rim. Her mother, who didn’t survive childbirth, and her father were two “friends” who made a living working as smugglers for the Hutt clans. One of the doctors, a middle-aged human female named Maura Vel, took notice of who the father was and alerted his presence to the local sector rangers. Now left with an orphan newborn baby, Maura decided to take her as her own.
Kaala spent the youngest years of her childhood surrounded by doctors, medical equipment, and empty space. The medical station didn’t see many visitors--the outer rim wasn’t a popular destination for most--so while she had plenty of time to bond with her mom, there wasn’t much to do. Because Maura was obviously not a togruta, Kaala was aware that she was adopted from the moment she was able to understand such a thing, but it didn’t matter to either of them. Her mom taught her how to read and write, as well as how to do basic math. Other times, they played games together. Eventually, when Kaala was about five years old, it was discovered that she was force-sensitive.
On the dawn of Kaala’s eighth birthday, the medical station suffered an attack from an unknown assailant that blasted half the station into space and rendered the craft no longer inhabitable. Maura was one of the victims. Kaala and the surviving staff and patients fled to the nearby Naboo where they were able to treat their injuries and get back on their feet. Kaala was then sent on a ship to Coruscant, where she was enrolled in school and sent to live in a children’s home.
In the years that followed her move to Coruscant, Kaala explored the force and all she could do with it. She read up on the legends of the Jedi and was excited. Lightsabers, temples, knights, and masters...it was like candy to her. Of course, she was aware that the Jedi no longer existed as they once did, but she wanted in. Wherever in the galaxy they were, she wanted in.
SKILLS:
Being only fourteen years of age, Kaala has very few skills outside of common sense and everyday knowledge. Being that her adopted mother was a doctor though, she knows quite a bit about anatomy, first aid, common medicines, and ailments.
Regarding her usage of the force, she is at the most basic level. While she has been able to manipulate small objects such as toys and books with ease from a young age, anything even half her weight requires significant concentration and energy to move. She can only shake things her own weight. Kaala has, on the other hand, found success in the so-called “force healing” side of things. Whilst shadowing her mother, with a bit of concentration and focus, Kaala can sense sickness and even accurately diagnose ailments she is familiar with. However, she can’t heal anything much larger than small cuts and scrapes.
Other than knowing how to pull a trigger on a gun and how to throw a flimsy punch, Kaala has no combat skills.
