So. TEF is pretty much inactive. Being an Independant seems to be largely going nowhere and threads which i feel i can contribute are few and far between, so I will list how i would like Joi's future to go in the following scenarios.
Hopefully a range of people have read thus far. Replies should be applicants interested in taking her under their wing, adoption, abduction, etc - whatever scenario, make a detailled "plan" on the future / what happens. And I will work with you 100%.

If you want to know posting style / details, check out her bio and sample a few threads listed in it.

1) An active independant group, such as a smuggler or pirate group picks her up, treats her right and teaches her everything she wants to know about starships (mechanics / engineering etc). Maybe she becomes a decent gunner or pilot. Maybe even just a navigator. Either way she is a useful addition to a crew. This is the least "likely" course of direction i'm leaning to. Hell, it could even be a slave gig where shes forced to do the role against her will. It will have to be something compelling.

2) A Jedi notices her on tatooine and pulls her from the TEF in order to train her as a "little too old" youngling / padawan. This route enables a bunch of threads to open up and lets her spread her wings and get good at something combat orientated - likely along the path of Ashoka (though not nearly as advanced / skilled), using her size and agility over strength.

3) A Sith notices her and steals/abducts/coerces her to come to the dark side. This will likely be more emotional / difficult than a Jedi path, because shes such a positive personality. IF she can retain some of her existing personality, i'd be far more welcoming. It's been suggested she learn Sith Alchemy or whatever it is that creates Sith Abominations - so giving her a natural affinity to something useful might ofset her 'lack of strength'. Slavery would also technically work here, even if shes not outright trained in Dark Arts.

4) Other

I won't be jumping on the first person to post (you may be glad to hear), i'm looking for an active person with a story we can forge together and an interesting character.

Well, I can volunteer Kai if you're looking for Jedi to hang out with. In any case he hangs out with a bunch of Jedi (who I'm sure one or two wouldn't mind RPing with Joy either) and always looks forward to teaching others, so there's always the opportunity to create an interesting RP together. EDIT: I just talked to Veloster and we'd be fine with having Joy join Kai and Khelsea in any thread. Plus, both he and Khels can teach her some stuff about starships too if that's something she wants to learn as well as being a Jedi. Haha. In any case I prefer only to do interesting stories that cause character development and growth, so if you want to do some Jedi stuff just let me know! :D

Well I intentionally started my character so young that I could have him meander about for a while before I really start developing into the warrior he'll become. As such I've been wanting him to meet a kind person who was still crafty aka Joy and simply accompany them for a while. He'd obviously help her out in whatever what he could but it would be nice development for Kai to learn some valuable non force related skills from someone and to see all people aren't evil.

Jaron. If you want her to cross paths with him, he can take her under his wings and teach her every single piece of the puzzle that is a warrior's mishmash of deadly skills in the Art of War. She can be like a 'padawan' to him, and go with him on every mercenary job he's on, and he can teach her how to fight, how to give first aid, how to repair shit in the middle of a warzone, survival, how to manipulate, coerce and charm people. He can show her the ethics, the conflicting morals and the question of right and wrong that always lies right there parallel to a mercenary's road of life. He can walk that path with her and let her sometimes fight for genuinely good people, and sometimes for less reputable ones, all because they are professionals. It can also lead to some interesting conflict if she lets her emotions rule while Jaron lets cold and calculating logic lead his decisions.

It could all be quite epic, frankly. :oooooooh:

I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of Mila trying to convert her to the Dark Side. She isn't exactly your stereotypical, maniacal, power mad Sith who wants to burn planets and punch children for the lolz. Okay, she might punch children, but that's beside the point. The only problem would be that Tatooine is much too far out of her way - and beyond her interest, honestly - for her to feasibly be there. How I could see her coming into contact with Joi, however, would be through some sort of "ambush" scenario.

Say, for example, she finds herself traveling with some random smuggler [possibly one who works in secret for the Rebellion] or what have you, and her travels with that person inevitably bring her close to Imperial territory - either by accident or on purpose [as part of a job/contract, for example], doesn't really matter. In the ensuing events, the Empire catches up with them and they are ambushed at [insert planetary port here] by Imperial forces led by yours truly. Some fighting ensues, Stormtroopers are killed, the smuggler scum is killed, Joi eventually falls into the hands of the Sith in the aftermath, etcetera etcetera.

That's really just a rough outline of an idea, and I could definitely refine it more if you are interested. Though the perks of being Mila's "servant" - I hesitate to say Apprentice as she is already working on obtaining one - would be numerous. She's beginning to study Sith alchemy herself, and is also a well trained illusionist who specializes in mind tricks and numerous methods of psychological "persuasion". Plus, Joi's personality is fairly close to Mila's sister's - Sarita. So it might be fun to explore that side of things a bit, Joi being the analog to Mila's much maligned younger sister whom she barely tolerated. Not saying she would be unnecessarily brutal on the poor girl because of it, but Mila would glean a certain sense of self-satisfaction in breaking down such an optimistic personality.

Yaresh having to deal with not just looking after himself and supplying credits to his family, but looking after someone else as well might be interesting. His first student, but a student who's learning things at almost the same rate as he is.

But that would no doubt end as a trainwreck due to his inexperience and xenophobia.

Trainwrecks can be fun to follow, though.

Satoryu - Evil bitch who eats little children for breakfast. Would force Joy to join the Sith or kill her if she refused. Would continue to hurt her and boss her around should she join the Sith. Maybe not the best idea.

Andromeda - Foul tempered teen cyborg who may beat Joy up, but probably no more than that. May see a little bit of herself in her, they're both just kids.

Satsuki - Lovable punk chick who would want to cuddle and adopt her. Will be soon joining the Rebellion. At the moment she's a bit like Joy, just on the run and not involved with particularly anything.

I am more than happy to drop my Hutts in as an enemy in this. I am thinking some form of Slave Rebellion you chaps could lead?

She could join the imperial Commerce Fleet, the (usually) non-fighting part of the navy. Would allow her some experience in the skills described in scenario #1. Allows her to meet imperials and other Indies. You would also have the option to later have her sensitivity noticed and given tutelage; doesn't necessarily have to be by Sith as Commerce Fleet admiral Andarta is sensitive herself to a degree.

Also, modern Sith aren't all evil. We don't all burn planets and kick children.

So, thank you all for throwing your hats in the ring, it's been very tough to pick one, but I have narrowed it down to two; Jaron and Mila.

Jaron strikes me as an adopted brother figure who can bring her out of her shell and teach her all sorts of nifty things, would indeed be epic. Would like to see some example roleplays he's been in, though - since they don't appear to be linked to his profile. Not to mention it sounds like he's teaching her like a person and not a child. Maybe she can be his "techie" or "hacker" partner in crime.

Mila on the other hand, I loved the scenario proposed and I could just picture Joi crawling through the vents of the smuggler ship to sabotage the attack on the vessel, before being ultimately captured. Form VIII is cool, but likely way too advanced for her to learn anytime soon. But i love how Mila uses psychological force powers. Also that comparison to Sarita is pretty awesome, even if it means she will be punished for it. Do Sith always have to be bad tempered and reserved? A bubbly happy beacon of death could be ironic as all hell. Infact. Isn't the Dark Side focused and powered by emotions..? Fear is something she might have in spades.

Just because shes force sensitive doesn't mean she *has* to go a lightsaber route, both scenarios are equally appealing.

I'll have to think more on the choices available. :happppyyy: Especially if more people post or people add more detail. :oooooooh:

Edit: Amusing thought. She could be like Jaron's self-appointed secretary for jobs. Haha. In the middle of a job and shes like. "We free next week?"

Yes, ma'am! I'm bad about adding roleplays to my profile, and he's still a relatively new character so I haven't got many. But here are links to the few he's been in and are in;

I think techie and partner in crime would work very well, especially in combo with the little sis kind of thing. I also very much like the idea of her being his self-appointed secretary. It could be hilarious, especially if she books them for jobs outside of his comfort zone, like bounty hunting and the like. :oooooooh: (He's all about waging war, after all, not bounty hunting and such. XD )

Mila only dabbles in Form VIII as more of an eccentric curiosity really, her true strength is Soresu, which is backed by Juyo if she finds herself in a tight spot where only naked aggression is her last option. As a duelist, she's not overtly given to the usual Sith practice of lots of rage + Dark Side = victory! She tends to be much calmer and would actually prefer to not enter into a duel in the first place if she can help it. Probably doesn't make her much of a Sith in the traditional sense, but as the old axiom goes: "there's more than one way to skin a cat.".

So if Joi did find herself in Mila's company somehow - and felt so inclined to learn from her - she would almost invariably be taught that her mind can accomplish far more than any weapon could ever hope to.

As for the nature of the Dark Side, Mila would argue that embracing your passions and remaining true to your convictions is paramount to success. How you behave while doing so - be it dark and broody or bubbly and cheerful - matters little so long as you are also willing to temper your ambitions with caution. That said, she really can't help it if she hates your guts for bouncing around the temple like a happy-go-lucky jack rabbit on crack... who just happens to have a lightsaber... and can choke you to death with it's mind. lol

Especially since she'd be like. "Whats the diff?" I can see her being fairly bossy. As all little sisters are. Last important question. What kind of scenario would they meet / him decide shes worth keeping around?

Also you both replied around the same time. GASP YOU'RE THE SAME PERSON!

I love her already. Joy may have to make use of the Mister Skittles defense. Holding him up next to her face to avoid harm and mimicing his "expression" of wide eyed smile.

Last important question; if Joy fails to be adequate, isn't the strongest or doesn't pick it up, what happens then?

Also. It may be me being greedy. But i could technically take both. Since one's a faction and the other is a friendship...? Depends how possessive Mila / Joran is.

Well, I originally intended Jaron to end up working for the Rebellion. It hasn't happened yet and he hasn't really done much work to get him on the Imp shitlist. Now, I'm also playing around with the idea of instead having him join the Imps and/or at the very least take merc gigs from them. So! If that happens, running both relations could be possible. >___>

Also, in regard to how they met, I would say one of the following scenarios would be suitable;

- Random trouble following one or the other, and the other getting dragged into it, maybe at a spacestation or somewhere like Corellia or random very urban planet.

- In the middle of a warzone where Jaron is fighting, and Joy somehow ends up by accident and needs pulling out of?

- Or, it can simply be that she needs a ride off-world from somewhere, Jaron ends up helping (for money?), and she ends up sticking around.

I'm sure there's a million other alternatives too though. I'm sure together we can come up with something even better. XD

I knew that damn rabbit would cause her more problems than what he's worth. Good thing for you she adores him more than anything, so you have a valid defense there. Ahaha

Regarding what would happen if Joy doesn't turn out to be the best learner, Mila's not going to kill her if that is a worry. And if you are concerned that they might not turn out to be the best fit for one another, we could always keep things casual and have it so that Joy isn't outright adopted into the Sith, but is instead treated as an acquaintance that Mila could interact with from time to time and offer her training during their meetings. That way Joy could still go do her own thing with Jaron if you wanted, then you could make a more informed decision as to who you would like to commit to for the long haul.

And if you decide to go with Jaron in the end, no biggie. I'm not going to come hunt you down. lol

I love you both, rofl.

Why do you have to make it so damn hard to choose! :suspeciouss:

Okay. So. Here's what i'm thinking, then. Bare with me. I choose Mila, go through that whole adventure. Hopefully improving my writing and develop Joy as a character further, then when she has a bit more freedom through success or failure, she can have adventures with Jaron, who can make her feel a little more like her old self again. This also means she can expand her abilities beyond what Mila has taught her and be more normal again.

Would that be Kosher?

That sounds excellent to me. Her evil past with Mila could also lead to some interesting ways of starting the partnership with Jaron, then. :oooooooh:
