Dusty had to admit the Red Baron was a decent flyer. He had to admit that but he did not have to admit defeat. Barely registering the power up, Dusty continued to push the thrusters to the limit as he raced for the tunnel ahead. Neck and neck, the Glymphid shoved his pod into Red Baron's, trying his best to knock the other rafe off course or, at the very least, rattle him enough for Dusty to pull ahead.

Wait! who said anything about a water leg. The precious prince was terrified of the deep blue ocean and would do his best to avoid looking at it too hard while they raced along. If any of his competitors tried to pass him, the buzz droid would do its nasty work in trying to stall them.

The whistling of the ocean breeze sent a shiver down his spine, it was hopefully only a short distance that they would have to cover. If only he'd paid attention in the briefing or had actually put into action his plan to stash a doppelganger in his stead to complete the race for him.

Rya braced for impact as her vehicle came back down to the surface hard. The impact ended up not hurting her nearly as bad as the sound her engine made did. She cursed at the protesting displays in front of her and immediately hit the button available to begin repairs. Agonizing moments went by, her inner tock ticking painfully as they did, watching the nanotech work it's magic until the engine roared back to life.

Without hesitation she had the pod springing into motion with a satisfying thrum of Vak manufacturing. Most everyone had passed her and she was eager to make up as much ground as possible. She'd do her best to catch up, riding as close a line to each boundary as she could manage.

She noted the change of scenery as the track took them over open waters but thought little else of it. Her approach to the tunnel was simple: she'd hang back to ensure she didn't join any potential pile-up, even if it meant not gaining as much on the leaders as possible.

A total nightmare indeed, Aden was covered in spew at this point and was making no headway, still stuck in last place. Aden would take his rebreather off. What's the point?

Out the corner of his eyes as he was attempting to keep his eyes forwards, he could see some sort of flightless bird running parallel to him, appearing to be stalking him and going after him, pecking at everything.

This was just great.

Aden would then attempt to go full speed, to get away from them, and hopefully get back in the race. Maybe it's not impossible to salvage this situation and achieve something other than being in last.

The Baron only had seconds to think as he saw the pop-up on his view screen. He cursed, slamming his fist into the big red button labelled "Boost" and was immediately pinned back into his seat as the afterburner kicked into overdrive. Cooling ports opened on the side of his roaring engines, the thrust turned from a bright yellow to an even brighter blue, and he held on for dear life.

A Racer slammed into him, causing his pods to wobble and veer him off course as he skimmed from the cobbled streets to the surface of the water, scraping through behind the Racer and snapping at his proverbial heels. He glanced, recognizing Dusty and leaned to throw a less than courteous gesture towards him, grinning as he aimed to return the slam with a boost from behind, keen to retake his place up there.

Flyboy; the man who simply couldn’t get the wind under his wings. Despite all his best efforts, the Odupiendo flock simply proved to be too strong of a distraction. Beaks slammed into the man, desperate for a taste of the bile that had painted itself across the pod’s pilot. The birds would ruffle their feathers with agitation, loose pieces shaking free and covering the spew-covered human. Now this was a dilemma.

As if shooed away by some mightier force, the Odupiendo flock immediately dispersed as Flyboy was finally able to breathe only to look up at the majestic, brightly colored male of the flock now running alongside. You see, this particular male had developed something of a harem for himself and as he looked upon the downtrodden, feather covered Flyboy with a ‘less-than-hostile’ glint in its eyes partnered a wobbly coo, concern amongst viewers would rise. As it jumped atop the pod and positioned himself directly over its sole occupant, it became clear that it had believed its harem had found a new member.

“Cut the feed! Cut the feed!

“We need to dispatch a medical and security team to Flyboy’s location now!”

“Maybe a therapist too…”

@The Good Doctor

He came for a race and found himself a companion! Due to the three consecutive bad rolls (the final being a nat 1), Flyboy is going to need to take a breather to recuperate after this latest development. Flyboy is out for the next round, and is still only in the second leg of the track!

Yet it wasn’t just Flyboy that had found himself in a perilous dilemma, though Milk’n’Honey had different problems to endure. His fears of the open water were not only reasonable, they were justified. As his focus was glued to simply getting off the ocean leg of the track, he had missed the large shadow swimming below. The glint off the chrome of his speeder was hard to miss, even from underwater, and many of the smaller aquatic creatures had approached the surface as they prepared to feast on an easy meal before the storm.

The tunnel approached, the two racers ahead of him disappearing into it’s maw, as a fully grown Opee sea creature burst forth from the shadowy depths in an attempt to grip Milk’n’Honey’s glimmering pod between its teeth. One of the engines suffered extensive damage, the other flooded out by the wave of crashing water. What’s worse is that the Buzz Droid, tasked with defending the pod from the next thing to pass by, had seen the Opee as its now mortal enemy. The creature would swing around to take a second and final attack at M’n’H but as it approached, its antenna breaking the surface of the water, the Buzz Droid stood its ground faithfully before leaping into the water to do battle.

“Milk’n’Honey is flooded out! What a loyal little droid he found!”

“He better get that pod moving before that thing comes back!

“Wait, is that… blood in the water?”

@Xorism

The buzz droid is the only thing saving Milk’n’Honey from being devoured! And who knows what will come to inspect the scene of the fight between beast and machine! -3 on your next roll to accommodate for trying to get the flooded engines running again. -1 to follow each round until Milk manages to reach the starting line and get into a pit stop to repair the damage from a nat 1.

Nanotech was a brilliant thing but the damage Rya had suffered to her pod was extensive. What was only about a minute would feel like hours as the repairs were completed, the sounds of what she would likely assume was Flyboy’s pod (though it was just the newest ‘friends’ he had made echoing down the road) would get her anxieties sky high.

And then she was off! She needed to cover ground, banking through the hard left and out over the open ocean. It was difficult to make out at first, given how quickly she approached, but as she blew by the flooded out Milk’n’Honey, she would be able to make out the dedicated little Buzz Droid plop into the ocean in pursuit of the threat to its new master. Then just as she descended into the underwater tube, yet another blue orb would appear! What luck! She had acquired a loyal little Buzz Droid of her own! Or was Milk’n’Honey’s the exception?

“Rya has left the tunnel!”

“This girl is here to make waves She’s right on Baron!”

@Pazaakly

Same as when Xorism received his, the Buzz Droid can attack another racer and apply a -2 to their roll!

Despite his best efforts, Red Baron struggled to find the opening he needed to get the better of Dusty Trails. Their pods traded blows as the tunnel approached but Dusty had the edge he needed, pushing Baron’s into the transparisteel wall with sparks flying as he pulled ahead. Perhaps if it hadn’t been for such a successful attack, the speed boost would have been able to do more for him but as it was, it was just enough to keep him on the Trail’s tail.

That is, until they left the tunnel. In the open surroundings of the ocean, Red Baron would find that Dusty was slowly able to start pulling ahead. He was only just barely able to nudge the pod of his opponent before the gap grew beyond the hope of success and now had to worry about the woman on his rear who came equipped with a mechanical co-pilot.

@Pendleton

As per the discord, your post had just exceeded the time limit. I’m gonna let it slide this time as I seem to think weekends are difficult for you to post during. That said, checking on the dice I noticed that there was a mix up. You had rolled a 9, not an 11. Thus bringing your total to 11 rather than 13.

“Dusty Trails takes the lead!!”

The racer lived up to every ounce of his past, maneuvering through the underwater passage to give him the edge he needed to subdue his nearest challenger. As he erupted out into open air once again, he would notice a moderate bump from the rear but soon, little else. It was nothing but him and the open sea as he rocketed ahead. Even as he picked up a second orb, the option to exchange his current bonus for a nanotech repair kit, it was questionable if he would even need it! Of course, he couldn’t get complacent now. After all, everyone else here was vying for the position he now held and there was still a great deal of racing left to be had!

@Fantasy Liver

Not much to say, other than that Dusty is killing it! The crowds in Theed are celebrating and cheering to his name, whilst others are frustrated that their bets are looking to flounder! He may also elect to either keep his current smoke bomb or swap it out for a repair kit

Three of the five racers were about to complete the third leg of the race, approaching the fourth and final leg of the first lap. Ahead they would see the treeline of the swamplands bordering theed, the ocean feeding into a river that would weave through the course. Obstacles were aplenty, bouncing back and forth from riding the river to dodging trees, with even a small collection of gungans who had posted up on the riverbank to watch the race, despite the best efforts of the event coordinators.

Current Standings!

1) Dusty Trails
2) Red Baron (but only just)
3) Rya (Right on Baron's ass)
4) Milk'n'Honey

5) Flyboy🦆

Dusty took the lead and he took it hard, jetting across the water and feeling alive with every spray of the untameable sea. This was what it was all about. Pleased he took the lead, a position he was most familiar with, Dusty declined to swap out his current item for a repair kit but still kept his smoke bomb unused for now - it would be far more effective on land. So, he continued to gun forward, being careful to avoid any suspicious looking patches of water or obstacles as he worked to maintain his lead.

This section of the race was perhaps the most traumatic time of his life since finding out he wasn't an only child. The treacherous watery death pit below aside, the endless stream of creatures and horrors seemed to all line up to take a bite out of the princeling.

Oedi screamed several octaves higher than an operatic singer trying to shatter the glass ceiling as the large kraken made its first attempt against his life. The well polished chrome finish perhaps preventing its grip suffiently to tear the engine off, although the damage was immediately noticeable. Worse still, the other engine slapped the water harder than a first grader belly flopping with equally devastating results.

With a loud thump the pod dashed across the water coming to a stop shortly after. Looking down at a dashboard of flashing lights, Oedi had absolutely no idea what to do next.

"I have absolutely no idea what to do next." He said, absolutely, with no idea what to do next when suddenly inspiration hit him. Pulling out his Nalphone, he called for help.

His one relief was the brave little buzz droid that dove into the watery tomb, bubbling away under the surface.

"Of course ive tried everything! No the green light isnt on. Of course ive tried the on button, what kind of...oh look it worked!" With several false starts behind it, he simply hoped it would roar back into action and bring him back to dry land as soon as possible.

Rya made her way through the tunnel and saw one of the remaining two racers ahead of her in this race and decided it was the perfect time for a pass. Just as they neared the swamplands she’s use the bobbing and weaving between trees and waves to cover her intentions, blocking the visual of her carefully timed slingshot maneuver to pass them.

Despite herself she was beginning to get into this, the thrill of it all made her feel right at home like she was back in the Chaos and she couldn’t help out give out a yell of excitement. In the moment it became more than just a matter of status. Now it was getting *fun*

As the emergency response teams arrived on the scene, many would find the display one hard to forget as the Odupiendo was in the throes of passion atop Flyboy’s pod. It paid little mind to the flashing lights and sirens of the speeders, only finally dismounting and fleeing to the shrubbery in the distance as one of the officers fired off a warning round into the sky.

“Go check on him,” the officer ordered the medical team, clearly hesitant to bear witness to what may have become of the man in the seat. So too were the paramedics. This was something entirely new to them, something they had not anticipated when they were instructed to attend today’s games.

Slowly but surely they would approach, their bag of supplies on hand, to find Flyboy battered and bruised and covered in feathers. Quickly they would check his vitals, flashing a light in his eyes to check for his response. Physically, he was relatively sound. Mentally could well be an entirely different story.

“Bring the stretcher,” one would call back to the rest of the team, protocol dictating that he be removed from the race and brought back to a proper facility for further examination. Whether what remained of his pride allowed them to follow through on this was a different matter.

@The Good Doctor

If Flyboy feels ready, he is now able to try and catch up to the others!

As for Milk’n’Honey, as he laid in wait floating on the ocean surface, he would find the engines entirely flooded. It sputtered and spat, only a fraction of life returning as he turned the machine off and on as the displays had finally come back to life.

“Could this be it for the Princeling?!”

“Time to get another emergency response team on stand by!”

Ah, but Joro and Vikka had forgotten one crucial thing when it comes to dancing with fate; the power of friendship!! From the bubbling depths, the corpse of the goober fish rose to the surface, the victorious Buzz Droid standing atop its trophy kill! Covered in blood, even despite the rinsing of the ocean currents with the eye of the Goober impaled on it’s metallic talon and a sharp fang pierced through it’s spherical shell, the droid would celebrate briefly before leaping back onto Milk’n’Honey’s pod, where he would briefly see the designation ‘CH-4D’ on it’s chassis before burrowing itself within the flooded engines. Parts and pieces would fly, water would be thrown out in pulses, before the engines finally fired to life! Finally, CH-4D would crawl forth and drop into the cockpit, the red light blinking away until out entirely in his best friend’s lap.

In it’s final moments, CH-4D had given Milk’n’Honey the edge he needed to thrust forth and through the tunnel, emerging and seeing the swamp lands approach, collecting another bonus orb and watching as a laser canon appeared on the front of his pod!

@Xorism

You best thank CH-4D!! While the Nat 20 nullified the -3 modifier, Milk’n’Honey still has the -1 to contend with until he can find a pit stop. Also, the laser gun allows you to attack any nearby racer for the benefit of adding a -2 to their same-round roll!

Rya was here to win, and it showed! Nothing could slow her down now! Not the monsters of Naboo’s oceans! Not the other racers! Not even any doubts she may or may not have harbored against herself at the beginning! No, this was her element and she was on fire!

She would see Red Baron ahead, closing the gap between them at an incredible speed, but it was nothing she couldn’t handle. Closer. Closer. Ever closer, until finally she pulled to the left and catapulted herself ahead! Perhaps she missed it, but she had even managed to collect yet another bonus orb! The display would flash, indicating that she had also managed to find a laser attachment for her pod, though it would come at the sacrifice of her Buzz Droid companion.

What she may not have noticed however, was that as she pulled ahead of Baron and now had Dusty Trails in her sights, was that Baron had suddenly vanished entirely! Curious!

“Rya has taken second with a brilliant slingshot maneuver!”

“They're quickly approaching the city limits! A battle of titans for the top spot may well happen right before our viewer’s eyes!”

@Pazaakly

Flavor switch to your bonus! Buss Droid or Laser Cannon! Either will add a -2 to the same-round roll of the target, though the smoke bomb Dusty has in his possession can nullify the effect of one! Which one could it be?!

Dusty Trails! The man! The myth! The legend! The lead was his, and it was lonely at the top! Sure, Rya was behind him but she was quickly gaining as the river they had followed since entering the swamps would soon begin feeding Theed’s canals. Not even the hollering Gungan population, cheering as he sped by them at breakneck speeds seemed to break his focus! Could he maintain his position with the fame hungry newcomer snapping at his heels?!

As he crossed the threshold and back into Theed, he would see yet another orb! What is this luck?!

It would seem to not stretch as far as he had hoped, the bonus only being the same as what he already possessed.

@Fantasy Liver

The crowds, the gungans, the commentators! They’re all speechless as Dusty moves through the swamps with the agility of a Loth Cat! And he still has his bonus!

As the racers, or rather those who had been finding success in the first lap of the event, crossed back into Theed, they would be welcomed with the sight of cheering civilians and race fans, fireworks going off as each passed by. Ahead they would see the main bridge where they had begun with their pit crews on stand by in preparation for any of whom may need to make a stop for repairs. This was, of course, optional.

“Here they come! Wait…. Where’s Red Baron?!”

Stopping at a pit stop comes at the cost of a -2 of your same-round roll but will eliminate any recurring negative modifiers from the previous rounds

Where indeed.

After the death of Xeno and the split of the Sith from the broader Empire, Bir Vuul had fallen back into a life of anonymity. He had taken to seclusion, hopping from world to world, before settling in the swamps of Naboo. At first, the Gungan population had begrudgingly allowed him to live on their territories but as time went by, his mannerisms and behavior had found himself outcast yet again.

Alone. Naked. Afraid. He had little to survive on other than his own instinct, and many in the galaxy knew just how jarring and skewed those instincts were. Perhaps on Dorin he had enough knowledge to get by in the mountains, but here?

He didn’t even know mushrooms could be as magical as these! They certainly didn’t sate his hunger, his belly growling in desperation for food, but wow did those trees look pretty!

Still, he knew he needed to hunt. Painting his face in mud and forgoing the torn trousers he so often wore, Bir remained perched in the highest branches near the ocean. Here he waited, watching for his newest prey but as Dusty whizzed by, he cursed himself for being so slow. Whatever mechanized monstrosity it had been, it certainly was an apex predator and would not only satisfy his hunger but perhaps bribe his way back into the graces of the Gungans!

It seemed they were a pack animal, as two more quickly approached. He would not let this opportunity slip through his fingers. Rya would pass to the left but Bir would launch himself, limbs spread wide, downward towards the beast on the right.

He found purchase, lodging his toes in the gaps between durasteel plating as he shouted nonsense. ”Uggan lorkwala dop minchki!”, his metallic right hand gripping tightly on the lekku of Red Baron, pulling it hard like one would the reins of a horse. Simultaneously, two leathery fingers from his left hand would reach around his head and bury themselves in his nose as he pulled upward hard in hopes of debilitating his prized prey.

Baron’s pod was now fully under Bir’s control, veering from the course and deeper into the wooded swamp lands with only the cries of fear and gibberish of prey and hunter.

@Pendleton

Due to timeout, Red Baron misses his next posting round as he contends with The Madman of Naboo. May luck be ever in his favor.

No, Flyboy was not mentally well. Between having been covered by his own spew, attacked by oversized birds, covered in feathers and, then one of the oversized birds - that is particarlly brightly colored - try to have it's way with him, yeah he was not mentally well. Not in the 'he can't go on kind of way. More like the kind of way he wants to keep racing despite it all and destroy the first racer that he sees, plus win and make all this suffering be not for nothing..

To that end, refusing the medics, getting himself situated and ready to go once more, he would push some buttons and his racer came to life once more. He would attempt to go at maximum speed, trying to get all the power he can out of his pod racer. He might just get something...

The racing had gotten exciting, terrifying, and finally back to exciting for Oedi. Patting CH4D on its head, the princeling cheered for a moment until he realized the icky red substance on the droid. "Okay, I get that you saved me but we need to discuss your personal grooming standards if you plan to come home." The trip back to the starting line was no doubt going to be troublesome and he still had to get past the swamp and whatever else it held.

At the very least if he was able to complete one lap without the pod racer exploding around him he'd be happy, but perhaps after a nice long pit stop, spa and five-course meal he'd be ready for the second lap.

Or so he hoped.

Rya was locked in as they returned to Theed. Now she knew (or at least believed she knew) what to expect at each turn of the race. If she was this close to leasing the pack while she had been using the Great Presence to alert her of unseen dangers, the rest of the race should be a breeze as now she could focus on finding the most optimal path through the mentally established track.

That optimization would have to wait, though. As she entered the city and took in the sights of fireworks, spectators and the echoes from both she knew she had to take advantage of her current position. Instead of maintaining her current course, she fought to position herself on the side that would put her podracer in front of the most cameras and spectators possible. There was no guarantee that she’d maintain this prominent a position in the race, and she was looking to get as much exposure as possible.

Dusty kept gunning for the lead and, to make things harder for his opponents, threw his smoke bomb behind him, trying his best to disorient them and muddle the way ahead. Victory wasn't assured but it was close enough to taste. He just had to hold the lead...

“Would you look at that! He isn’t giving up!”

“That’s true, old fashioned determination, right there! But does he have what it takes to catch up to the front runners?!”

Flyboy had had enough it seemed. Luck had been a cruel mistress since the beautiful Pootalina dropped the flag (and her lower intestine) at the start of the race but he would be damned if he was going to let anything else trip him up! Whether or not the gods would support him in this endeavor remained to be seen but things looked promising!

Having barely made it out into the outer city streets, Flyboy would have a long and hard slog ahead of him. Even so, he jettisoned across the streets and around the hard bank that would lead him out over the Nubian oceans, a trail of rainbow hued feathers littering the air behind him. Nothing stood in his way. No more Odupiendos. No Gooberfish (though the buoyant corpse that had been massacred by CH-4D bobbed on the surface as he soared by and down into the underwater tunnel. What was perhaps more exciting than the adrenaline he would feel skipping across the water as rain pelted his goggles and washed away the bile would be the fact that he had finally managed to pick up his own bonus orb! Soon he would see on his display that a Nanotech repair kit had been installed on his pod, perhaps giving him the edge he would need to bypass the pit stop should he manage to make it to lap two!

Because there was little to get in his way, Flyboy would erupt from the submerged tunnel at supersonic speeds, blasting massive tails of water behind him! And what was this?! Milk’n’Honey was cruising along, Flyboy managing to pass by him!

@The Good Doctor

Flightless birds can’t clip Flyboy’s wings! Not anymore! You’re still on lap 1 and only now just approaching the final leg of said lap, but with nothing standing between you and the others, Aden has smooth sailing for this current round!

Speaking of the Juvexian Prince, it seemed his troubles were far from over. Certainly the now power drained droid in his lap had done more for him than he could have ever hoped, but now he was alone. Just him, his nalphone and the people who perhaps should have been piloting his pod who instead sat on the sidelines. Still, CH-4D had done a stupendous job at repairing the damage as best he was able, but the little droid that could had not been able to predict that the energy cells of the pod would need to power not only the thrusters but now a laser cannon.

As Flyboy approached Milk’n’Honey’s right side, the Prince had chosen violence! Perhaps those pearly whites would flash as his amber eyes turned sinister. He would wait for the opportune moment, even letting Flyboy take a momentary lead to center his aim, then finally…

“He forgot to turn off the safety!”

He tried, again and again with growing frustration, but soon the damage to his power oscillator, combined with the constant effort to try and divert energy to the cannon, would suffer a catastrophic failure as the right engine burst into flames with black smoke billowing behind him. If his moral support team on the sidelines could be reached, they could instruct him to close all intake flaps to snuff out the flames but the engine was in dire need of repairs… As were his blackened face and singed golden locks.

@Xorism

Yikes… If only your roll was just a touch higher, bro >.< Your -1 is a -4 due to your engine being uber-fucked up. And you’re still in the swamp lands…

Things were different in the canals of Theed as Rya and Dusty Trails battled for first place, both pods swerving across the narrow waterways in their dangerous dance of supremacy! The eyes of the spectators remained glued on the Chiss and the Glymphid as they ducked beneath bridge after bridge, the starting line coming into view.

Or rather, Dusty’s view. Just as Rya saw the opening she needed to overtake the notorious pilot, it would then be shrouded in clouds of near total black as he deployed the smoke bomb he had been saving for all this time.

“Come on! Use the droid! Use the droid!

But she didn’t. Coughing and wheezing as she pulled through the clouds of noxious fumes (albeit nothing compared to the fumes they had experienced in the beginning), Rya let her instincts guide her and as she burst through into the clean air on the other side, she could look over and see Dusty directly on her left as they crossed the starting line.

”They’re tied as they go into the second lap!”

@Pazaakly @Fantasy Liver

Dusty had a 7 while in the lead, Rya had a 10 while in second but a -1 modifier placed on her by Dusty's smoke bomb. Given this and the tight confines of the canal system, and that both rolls were technically successes, neither has the edge of the other at the moment, though Rya does still possess her Buzz Droid

Current Standings;

Tied for 1st: Rya and Dusty Trails
Second: Flyboy (But just barely, and still in the fourth leg of the first lap)
Third: Milk’n’Honey (Also still in the fourth leg of the first lap)
Fourth: Red Baron (Verge of elimination. If @Pendleton returns before the end of the following round, please DM me on Discord)

So now that we have racers entering the second lap, I will take this time to announce that eliminations are about to begin. One bad roll isn’t going to KO you from the event but two or three consecutive bad rolls (depending on severity) have the potential to land you on the sidelines! May the dice gods be on your side!

Also, violence is absolutely encouraged going forward!

The starting line starting to come into focus meant that Dusty pushed forward on the accelerator, his eyes on the prize. A straightaway like this meant that speed was the goal and that he could pour all his attention on speed, relying on that to overtake Rya instead of fancy tricks or trying to outmanuver her. He trusted his instincts enough to be able to make the turns he needed to and dodge obstacles. So he gunned it, trusting that the Chiss, however good she was, didn't have the experience or the grit to be able to keep up with him and also avoid crashing.

Rya wasn't keen on falling behind Dusty yet again. As they reached the straightaway she did her best to stick to her line and open up the engines to let them carry her as fast as possible through the upcoming stretch of track. Unfortunately there seemed to be some residual effects from when they had to be repaired earlier, an imbalance between the two engines reared its head in this moment. She watched Dusty put distance between them once more with little she could do given she was already flooring it. Her hands worked quickly across her controls to try to compensate and ensure that nagging mechanical injury wouldn't be a factor again but only time would tell.

Aden's racer was now picking up the pace, he's had terrible luck and suffered for it. Despite finding the speed and soaring, he still has a lot of distance to make up if he wants to catch up with the people tied for first.

Flyboy was able to pick up the Nanotech repair module. It would do it's thing and Flyboy shouldn't need to make a pitstop as he would attempt to go into the next lap.

All Aden can do now is go forward, skimming over the waters, he managed to pass by one of the racers, who seemed to be having troubles of their own. Oh well. Eyes forward, giving the other racer little though. Aden would keep pushing on the throttle, attempting to close the distance even further and being cautious as well. One mistake and it could cost him. He still has a chance...

The misfiring of the laser Canon was just typical, he'd rolled the die and came up short, which would have been fine if not for the next disaster to unfold. With a look the prince determined the best course of action was to ignore the fire and hope it went away on its own like his daddy did.

Some kind of fancy warning came up on the screen about closing the intake valves but Oedi was having none ot that. The advantage of having such a fancy model was the electronics were top notch and this action could be completed with a simple button press.

With a splattering the pod dropped speed suddenly throwing both the occupants forward into the console with a splat. "My face!" The poor princeling now had an imprint of the buzzdroid upon his person, a horrible disfigurement that would ruin his self esteem for several minutes after such a disaster.

Intakes closing it seemed in their little accident ch4d had saved Oedi once more, albeit it was hard to tell if it was incidental or not. At this rate it wasn't even certain this busted junk would make it back or if he'd have to call for a tow back.
