Dusty is not the brightest bulb in the drawer and isn't altogether that intimidating physically either. What he lacks in size and cunning however, he makes up for in sheer bravado and piloting ability. He has the natural gifted reflexes that you'd expect a Glymphid swoop racer to have but he's also incredibly daring and feels almost no fear or sense of mortality when he's behind the wheel. Stamina wise, he could be flying all day and night and still be fine but in a fight, two or three decent hits to the head and he'd probably be out. He's also an adept mechanic and can fix and pilot most any ship. While he does own a blaster rifle, he's only slightly above average at it. He'll hit slow moving or close targets just fine but anything else and he'll struggle.
PERSONALITY:
There are some good words that can describe Dusty; daring, confident, and honest. This is a Glymphid who craves adventure and adrenaline and will seek any kind of avenue to get his fix of it. This leads him to being a bit impulsive and cocky at the worst of times and a confident flyboy with daring feats to his name in the best of times. Additionally, while he's an honest employee and won't cheat a client, he is a bit greedy; knowing that credits fuel his fun-filled life and that most people aren't willing (or can't) do the stunts he does and so, he knows he can charge a premium for his services. When it comes to fighting, Dusty prefers to be in the air but will happily throw down with an opponent many times his size and weight; if only to say he did it. Dusty has a soft spot in his heart for the kiddos and he'll really only respect people that demonstrate the same level of guts that he does. At heart he's a redneck who likes the simple things in life; cash in his pocket, slapstick humor, things blowing up, and some booze to pass the time with in the meantime.
BIOGRAPHY:
Dusty Daytonus got his nickname because he was always leaving people behind in his dust when he grew up racing landspeeders and swoops on his homeworld of Ploo II. Idolizing old podracing legend Aldar Beedo, Dusty dropped out of school at a young age to work in a garage during the day and race swoops at night. He made himself a decent living and reputation on the amateur circuit and was known for reckless stunts and engaging in unnecessary but thrilling maneuvers on the track. But he always dreamed of making it to the stars one day to satisfy his adrenaline seeking even more. He got his chance when an old freighter pilot in need of an apprentice pilot. Dusty signed up and after working there for years, was able to purchase a freighter of his very own secondhand from a smuggler. When he's not racing swoops on the planets he's visiting, he lives on his freighter taking up any jobs from cargo hauling to smuggling runs to stunt shows to satisfy his own need for thrills and line his pockets while he's at it.
SKILLS:
Dusty is a gifted pilot both on the land and in space. He is able to perform complex stunts, the more dangerous the better, on most any kind of vehicle though he prefers swoops and freighters. He is a capable mechanic and can make mild to complex repairs on most starships but especially freighters and swoops. Speaking of swoops, he's also a talented swoop racer though only at the amateur level as his commitment to his freighters makes him not have enough time to focus on going pro on the swoop racing circuit. He is able to do minor repairs on droids and can remain calm under pressure even when there's blasterfire around him, his ship is on fire, and asteroids are heading his way.
