Noél was born to an impoverished family of junkies on the Smuggler's Moon, Nar Shaddaa.

Living in destitution, life on the Smuggler's Moon was far from easy and even further from fair. Both of Noél's parents were addicts to sansanna spice, and as such it was common in the household to find them strewn about, and otherwise incapacitated from their "recreational" activity. At times the place was more of a spice den than it was a home as visitors, whether they be dealers or "friends" come to join her parents, were frequent. During those precious few times of sobriety from her parents, they were less than compassionate to their daughter. Noél was the frequent victim of indifference and contempt, often leaving her feeling lonely and depressed. Her parents were excessively strict, overbearing, and to express any manner of autonomy or individuality drew her parents' ire.

Once she became "of age," her parents married her away to a man from one of the "wealthier" families of the vast slums of Nar Shadda, in an attempt to curry some kind of favour and, of course, money to continue feeding their addiction. While the conditions in which she lived improved, the circumstances did not. Though the amenities were better, her new husband was a step down from her parents. She was, for all intents and purposes, property to make the man look good, and function solely as a decoration for his arm at parties or gatherings. Behind the scenes he was abusive and manipulative, exploiting her weaknesses and vulnerabilities to coerce her into a state of constant submission. What he didn't realise though, was that her passive and quiet nature belied a will to survive, as well as an abyss of hatred and revilement.

After several years of enduring the tyrannical reign of her husband, his lift was forfeit in a territorial dispute between two of the prominent gangs in their sector of Nar Shaddaa. Though this news brought a fleeting moment of joy to Noél, after enjoying a couple days of solitude, the local enforcement for the Hutts were at her door. Unbeknownst to Noél, her "husband" had accrued a substantial amount of debt to the Hutts due to frivolous spending and repeated loans for credits. She had unwittingly inherited a veritable mountain of debt that somebody needed to pay off, and the only money to her name was that which already belonged to selfsame crime lord come to collect his dues. Upon learning that she was unable to cover the expenses of her husband, the Hutt sent her away to a pleasure house to begin slowly paying everything off.

After another several years of indentured servitude to the Hutts and the brothel she was sent to, she was finally "free," though she had nowhere to go. Penniless, hopeless, and alone, Noél knew that she had only one real option available to her: get off of Nar Shaddaa by any means necessary.

By and large, Noél does her best to be self-reliant due to her extensive history of being manipulated and at the mercy of others. She is frequently considered cynical, thinking others are out only for themselves and nobody else, and as such as perpetually wary of anyone and everyone. Having lived her life among the slums of Nar Shaddaa, and constant association with criminals and the Hutts, she has also developed a penchant for for deceit and, in some cases, betrayal. She is not beyond lying, seducing, and cheating her way around people and situations so long as she comes out of it unscathed or unsuspected. Moreover, she has an unfathomable contempt for the Hutts and their operations on both Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta.




In spite of the majority of her disposition being that of a quiet, dispassionate cynic, she has on rare occasion shown a softer side. Though uncommon, it's often evoked by seeing others in situations similar to her own past. In these times she can be seen to be compassionate and supportive, urging those trapped in the environment to improve their situation by any means necessary, even if those means may be questionable. She is, after a fashion, particularly intelligent in her own right. Though to her the ends justify the means, she is far from outspoken about her beliefs and convictions, choosing to simply state her opinion as a fact that's irrefutable. Any disagreements or attempts made at debating at disregarded.

In her solitude, Noél is not and has not always been hateful or apprehensive. Much of her time, especially her childhood with her family, she was left feeling depressed and lonely, which has carried over into her adulthood. At times she can be seen as almost dead or lifeless, as though she's given up on her life and everything that surrounds her. She holds little faith in the galaxy as a whole.

Although Hutts are the primary victim of Noél's discrimination, and certainly receive the worst of it, she has shown some intolerance for other species of alien as well, such as Zabrak, Trandoshans, and Twi'leks. Interactions with aliens she has had little to no exposure to, such as the Wookies or Quarren, are often measured with an air of apprehension. Humans are still not immune to discrimination of their own though, depending on their line of work or the place of origin. People of a prestigious or wealthy upbringing are often treated with skepticism, as are those of a lowborn life if they appear to be addicts or gangsters. Noél has zero tolerance for substance abuse, and only barely tolerates even medicinal uses, having an almost crippling fear of drugs in nearly any form be they beneficial or harmful. She will rarely partake in medicine if she can help it.

Aside from all of her visible and obvious flaws, Noél's one and only true desire is to create a better life for herself... however that may be.
