The young Togruta pouted internally at reaching their destination. Being able to go full speed across the dune sea had been part of the highlights for today and she had hoped to get a bit more time in. Nonetheless duty called and she had to answer. As they pulled in front of the gate and stopped the young jedi hopped out of her seat to meet with the Rodian. She stared blankly at the Rodian as he said something in a language she had no idea how to speak. She cocked her head to the side staring the Rodian down before deciding on how to proceed. She opted for the solution that required fewer words.

Emulating the walk of someone who lived in their armor and relied on it for a living the young Togruta stepped back to the passenger side of the speeder where her master sat. As she slipped around the back end of the speeder, she felt one of the plates catch on the corner, nearly wrenching the plate off of her undersuit. She gritted her teeth and continued on, being more careful to not arouse suspicion.

As she came around to her master's side she grabbed him by the collar and dragged him before the Rodian, throwing him to the ground. All of a sudden she was hoping he would be very forgiving for what would have to be done to convince the Rodian of their intentions. She gestured to Jaerad and spoke, trying to add some grit to her voice, the helmet didn't really effect her voice very much. "Show him the lightsaber." She turned back to the Rodian. "We're here for the job opening. This is our resume. A Jedi Knight." The young Togruta knelt down to turn Rennek's face to the Rodian. Letting him get a nice good look.

Bound and weaponless, the Jedi Knights guise as captive was now complete. Jaered tied his bindings tightly, ensuring the ruse wasn't compromised by a loose knot while Dasi seemingly stepped into her role halfheartedly. She made a convincing gun for hire as she handled the captured commodity, making sure to not appear too gentle. There was little room for error, and so far everyone was playing their part correctly. His other Padawan, who was also dressed in an armored ensemble, tossed the lightsaber at the Togrutas behest. The ragged Rodian caught the hilt, inspecting its durasteel cylinder while inching his thumb closer to the activation switch. For a moment he paused and both his beady eyes scanned the trio as a moment of silence ensued.

Deception Roll: 31+10 - Link - Post #15
The Alien flicked the switch which produced a blue blade from its emitter. To the untrained ear it sang it pitches of high and low hums. But to those who were aware of a lightsabers intricate nuances they could hear it whine as the faulted lap of energy from the power source to crystal was compromised. After a few moments of ignition the blade began to break in shape and its plasma composure shrank back into its holster. Annoyed and confused the Rodian thumbed the switch in quick succession but it failed to produce the same result. The guard scoffed, mumbling a Huttesse curse under his breath and threw the broken weapon to Jaered "Uba seel doo beet piece of kark bata" then he moved to the control panel to deactivate the electric emitters which ran through the gate, signalling for the operator to open up. The Rodian turned around to face them again, giving them another scan as he inspected their armaments. His eyes squinted "Kava oid uba catch beet jeedai exactly?". A silence filled the air. Rennek closed his eyes, manipulating the Force to influence the Rodian. With his hands bound tightly, disarmed and Dasis convincing execution in her persona the alien was more susceptible to mental persuasions.

Force Power Roll: 44+10 - Link - Post #15
Mental tendrils reached out and gently swayed the guard into relieving himself of suspicion. He was reminded of the surrounding walls, high security and the number of capable gun hands within Mos Shuutas walls. As if snapped from a trance the Rodian shook his head, looking at the trio and then his compatriot, signalling for their passage through the Gates. The Speeder entered the gates and stopped when two olive skinned Gamorians flanked the vehicle with a Protocol droid in tow. The droid was a L4-Series, a brief and seemingly unsuccessful follow up to the well mannered 3PO-Series. L4's were considered Roguish and could be considered their successor models polar opposite. The droid pushed through both pig faced bouncers, its optical sensors darting from the bound Jedi to his captors. "These two gentleman will take the Jedi. I'm to escort you both inside for a wee meet 'n' greet" his programmed dialogue protocols were an odd combination to pair with his metallic frame. Clearly its producers were trying to give the droids series some personality. "Follow me. Your landspeeder will be parked by the barracks. Come, we shouldn't keep HIM waiting."

Both Renneks right and left shoulders were encompassed by two large green hands as he was pushed and shoved towards the same room the two Padawans were going towards, albeit bound. The Protocol droid led them through the main door which revealed a high roofed, mult tiered reception room with two doors at the far end of the room. The door to the right was smaller and no led to the gladiator cells where the Watchman was being forced into. The duo led by the L4 Protocol droid entered the left with a door more grandiose, leading them down a gently bent hallway. The walls were hung with exquisite pieces both local and abroad, ranging from solid art works carved from rocks and bone to multiple ancient weapons hung from mantle pieces. In the center of the 'Grand Hallway' rested a behemoth of a skeleton, its bleached bones standing strong and imposing. They were the remains of a Rancor. They came to another intersection with another smaller, more modest door to the left, but were directed towards the opposite direction where dim music got louder and louder. A full compliment of Bith musicians played their varying instruments on the center circular stage and the patrons lined the barseats on stools made of local sandstone cushioned with bantha wool. On a pedestal rested a Hutt, a large slug like sentient alien that was heavily attributed to organized crime. His skin was slimy and somewhat orange with crimson tiger markings running across his body. The L4 Protocol droid brought the duo before the holds Master, his mechanical arm extending across the two to address them "Master, these are the two who Gaam claimed captured the Jedi-" he looked over to them, waiting for them to address themselves.

Once they did the Hutt sat there staring menacingly at them, his giant orbs holding a wait in their gaze. He spoke in his natural Huttesse tongue, his voice booming over the music and enhanced by the enclosed duracrete walls. Once his line of dialogue was over the droids head spun in their direction "The fearless Obaa the Hutt requests the Jedis lightsaber as proof of your claim. Also he wants to know how exactly you two were able to capture him? He lost men to this Jedi before, and in greater number."

Jaered was surprised at how easily Dasi stepped into the role. She dragged and threw down their Master before the Rodian in a way that he did not think he would be able to do himself. The act needed to be convincing but Jaered was no actor. He tossed his lightsaber to the gateman as instructed from his seat in the speeder, his Master’s actual saber concealed under the cloak that flowed over the shoddy armour.

It felt kind of sad to see the saber that he had used so many times fizzle out as though it were scrap metal. Sure, it was only a training saber that could do no real harm but it was his training saber and now it was useless. Jaered caught it as the frustrated Rodian threw it back. His reflexes were always quite astute, as is the case with most Jedi.

Though he could not understand what was being said, Jaered could tell that there must have been some mind trick at play by his Master from the change in the Rodian’s intonation. Either way, the gate was now open and they were in – that was the easy part. Everything from now on would likely be a lot harder. The settlement was alive, just as Mos Espa was. It seemed strange how busy the towns were when most of the land was desolate and showed no signs of life at all.

Jaered hopped out of the speeder as two Gamorreans and a protocol droid greeted them. The horrible feeling in his stomach churned as he watched the two burly guards escort their Master away. Now they were definitely on their own. What if that was the last time they ever saw him? No, Jaered couldn’t afford to think that way. They were going to get their Master back and the girl. Then they could finally get off the dead planet.

Silently following the protocol droid, trying not to show his amusement at the way it spoke, the two Padawans entered the palace. The place looked rather grand and ornate with the sculptures and paintings that lined the walls. Jaered rather admired art and was quite good at it, though he could never paint people quite as well; the proportions always seemed off. The thing that took his breath away most was the towering skeleton of some sort of beast. He would not like to have been on the wrong side of that creature.

As they walked along, Jaered tried to take in as much as possible to see the blueprints that he had memorised in real life. They entered the main throne room, upbeat music juxtaposing the unsettling atmosphere. The Hutt lay on a pedestal and Jaered could not help but feel aghast by the creature. He knew that he should not judge based on appearances but from what he heard, all Hutt were bad news.

Despite this, Jaered showed courtesy as he bowed before the Hutt. “Your greatness,” he began, trying to appease the owner of the palace. “I am… Nobu Pelikki,” Jaered introduced, struggling to think of a guise. He had no idea why his first thought was of the aquatic birds of his homeland but at that moment, he completely blanked. Gesturing to his fellow padawan, he added: “And this is…”

He severely hoped that Dasi was a better liar and could carry the situation a little better than he was. As instructed, he retrieved the faulty lightsaber and presented it to Obaa, resting it in both his palms and raising it for him to see. He thought it best to keep quiet for now as to not risk exposing them.

Dasi stared down the Rodian as he inspected the lightsaber and asked how they completed the task. She put her hand on the hilt of a blaster, she wasn't sure what problem the Rodian was having with them. She let out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding when the gate was opened to them. She let her hand relax. She grabbed Master Vaal and shoved him in the back seat once again before driving the speeder into town.

Two gamorians met them at the palace where Dasi stopped the speeder. She was about to speak up when a protocol droid pushed past the two giving them a greeting. She nodded and hauled her Master to his feet. She once again had her right hand on her blaster as she gave the Jedi a push with the left. "C'mon Jedi. Hutts are waiting." As they walked through the facility the young Padawan let her awareness reach out. Trying to get a feel for the palace. She nearly whistled when they passed a set of rancor bones. That was impressive.

As they entered the hutt's throne room the young Padawan shook her head as the sound of music and debauchery assaulted her. A large being sat raised above the rest. A hutt she assumed. The hutt spoke and she recoiled, how any creature could actually speak above the music in the room they were in she didn't know. She looked over at Jaerad as he responded to the hutt's inquiry and came up with her own persona. "Name's Akul." It was a dumb name. Dasi's mind had gone blank and just used the first predator that came to mind. She hoped the Hutt would buy it. "We're better. You can't take a Jedi head on. We arranged for his speeder to have an accident and caught him while he was dazed and his lightsaber apparently damaged. Even with that he still almost got away."

The Hutt glared down and stared intently at the lightsaber on display, and seemed almost nonthreatening in its dormant state. The hilt itself was unadorned and plain in design. The "Crimelord" waved the weapon away, muttering shortly in his native tongue. The L4-Series translating in Basic, as per its communication protocols "Obaa accepts your tribute-" the Hutt continued in his alien dialogue with the droid following in translation "-and your service." The circular, multi leveled room was structured so they were elevated above a small dirt arena, with the Hutt sitting perched atop his podium of power.

Obaa the Hutt waited for his host droid to shuffle back to his side, whispering amidst music and entertainment. The L4-Series marched towards 'Akul' and 'Nobu', dipping its mechanical head before extending its arm towards the rooms exit, the corridor they entered only moments before "When you are ready to retire, I will lead you to your accomodation. When you are settled you are to report directly to the lieutenant. After you're processed, you are permitted to venture within Mos Shuuta, at your leisure. All regulations and rules will be conveyed on initiation. You're advised to follow these."

Meanwhile, in the offshoot corridor leading away from the main hallway, Rennek is escorted into his cell. Its design was simple comprising of thickened bars of steel acting as a cage with sandstone walls. It was an archaic way to restrain individuals, but it was effective. Before he was thrown into his cell he'd managed to identify a few other captives. A crimson skinned Rodian with a missing 'ear', a half dehydrated Ithorian and a Human. None fit the unique distinctions of the Klantooinian. Rennek reached within, summoning the Force to enhance his hearing. He could make out a few fainter noises within the room and down the hall a prisoner was being hauled from their incarceration, his plea tainting the room with a sense of panic. One of the jailers pushed his blaster against the aliens back, instructing him to keep walking.

Back at the throne room the heavy metal gate which separated the fighting pit to the cells opened, its rusted mechanisms grinding and screeching. Those that were in the room and cantina congregated around the pit and were ensured safety and a good view from their elevated platform. The large Hutts brown gaze shifted from his retinue towards the arena, his chuckles of excitement filling the room. From the bottom of the pit the guard pulled a cuffed male Human to the Hutts attention, throwing him to his knees. The Human looked to be mid ages with dark hair, age showing its signs with greying threads. The Hutt elevated itself on its pedestal, his voice echoing with the Protocol droid translating "The Mighty Obaa is most disappointed with you, Jar Ko. You abuse his accommodation and generosity by working with our enemies. But our Master is merciful, and you will have a chance at retribution-" with the push of a button a rack of weapons slid from the arenas walls, revealing its deadly contents. Unsurprisingly there were no ranged weapons, and the level or technology was medieval at best. No vibroswords, just blades of varying design. These were rudimentary, rudely maintained and barely sharp "Trial by combat."

Jaered, the now so-called “Nobu”, returned the defective saber to his side, bowing in gratitude to the Hutt for accepting their service. That was easier than he had expected. He thought that their motives and story would at least be questioned, especially since he did not have the look of a bounty hunter. Perhaps their act was more convincing than he had previously thought. “Thank you, oh great Obaa. It is an honour to serve unto you,” he complimented. Though he figured that was enough of that or else it may seem as though he was trying too hard.

Jaered fiddled with his ill-fitting armour as he turned towards the sound of scraping metal and the cheers that followed. All in the room began to gather around the central pit where a man was thrown in front of the Hutt. Even a fool would know what that meant. It seemed like the man was just like them and his fate would inevitably be theirs if their plan was thwarted.

A rack of badly kept blades and melee weapons emerged from a panel within the walls of the pit. Truly, they would not be much help against any half-decent weapon and skilled wielder. Bounty hunters enjoyed this sort of sport too, right? Death and violence for entertainment. Though everything within him wanted to help this man, they would have to stand and watch in order to maintain their guise. Jaered’s fist tightened as he muttered under his breath to Dasi. “I really don’t like this place…”

Dasi bowed before the hutt before walking off with her fellow padawan. It seems their story had been bought by the criminals. Now they would have to simply find the prisoner. As the two approached the pit in the center of the room the Togruta looked on to the commotion. A barbaric display was featured before her, one she had to resist the urge to shake her head to avoid letting the onlookers see and question them. She turned to her counterpart as he revealed his opinion. She spoke in a hushed tone. "Careful. We wouldn't want to anger our new employer."

The young Togruta sighed, watching this fight wouldn't get them any closer to their target. "I'm going to head off. Get us our quarters. See what I can find." She moved to step away from the pit and to the door that the protocol droid had indicated earlier. She looked around until she found the droid before telling it she was ready. "I'm ready to see my accomodation." She hesitated before saying the next part. But she and Jaered would need a place where they could talk to each other without others around. "Me and my partner will only need one room."

The pleas of the accused rang out in protest and excuses were conjured in hopes of imposing his innocence. Before the bloody scene unfolded the two disguised Padawans saw to their retreat, concealing their anguish over blood sport with fatigue. [Deception Detection Roll [2]] - The quirky programmed Protocol Droid, which was invested in the Trial, snapped to attention, its glowing ocular visor 'staring' at Dasi. Its artificial voice was easily heard over the organic rumble unfolding behind them "Certainly. Follow me" The L4-Series escorted them around the circular room, moving away from the Cantina towards the Grand Hallway "I'll make the introductions when we arrive."

The two were once again escorted down the long, but decorated Hallway which echoed with every step. [Perception Roll [26]] - As soon as they ascended the first length of stairs the adjacent door opened. Two of Obaas underlings were arguing as the door opened, though their feud was muffled. The Weequay poked his index finger into the peach colored Twileks chest, his accented voiced cutting through the Basic "...e you kriffing me! Obaa will have our head if-" simultaneously they looked at the opened door before the Weequay sealed it shut.

The droid towed his escort out of the Hutts 'Palace', crossing the sand paved road. A few paces away stood line of separate buildings connected by a line of canopies, its walls constructed of hard stone to keep the burning twin suns at bay. They entered the middle structure, the automatic doors sliding open to reveal a room of simple adornment. The walls were uncovered and a few rudimentary windows were carved out from the stone with wooden shutters. The few ornaments that decorated the room were a desk, a few cabinets and a ventilation system overhead to circulate cool air. Three doors marked exits or other rooms attached to this one. The door opposite buildings entrance opened, revealing a green scaled Transdoshan clad in light garments with torso armor. She approached the protocol droid in a few strides, her size much larger than the two posing mercenaries. Joint room, and reassignment. Obaa has granted them employment. I'll leave them in your care. As quickly as the droid entered it left, leaving Dasi and Jaeden to the Transdoshan Lieutenant. She folded her muscled arms, her slit eyes staring intently. Her elongated, tooth filled jaw made it hard to interpret her Basic, but she was understandable "You two captured the Jedi? Don't kriffing believe it-" she threw them a small card, indicating their room and acting as a digital key "-but whatever. Second building to the left, take the second corridor to your right and its the second door to your left. Double room, self sufficient. You two will be reassigned tomorrow morning."

Jaered’s eyes lingered a little longer at the grotesque event that was unfolding before him, oddly intrigued slightly, though his disgust overpowered as he followed his fellow Padawan. It was good thinking of Dasi to ask for a room together. It would give the duo a space to commune without looking suspicious. The crowd began to roar in response to the amusement as the Padawans were led by the protocol droid from the throne room.

As they ventured the corridor, two individuals were arguing among themselves. Jaered could not help but look into the discussion. He did not hear much before his spying was noticed and the door was sealed shut but it seemed that the Twi’lek had done something that may give them the same fate as the man in the fighting pit.

Carrying on outside, the duo reached a building where a large reptilian humanoid entered. Jaered guessed that this must be the lieutenant that the droid referred to. The Trandoshan towered over them as they spoke. Once again, Jaered found himself to try and look more menacing than he actually was, though he doubted it had any effect. Thinking it was best to leave Dasi to interact with the lieutenant (she seemed much better at acting than he was), he bowed in thanks and began to travel in the direction that was described.

Recalling the information, Jaered walked to the small, sandstone building that held their living quarters. It was second to the left, not from the left? He thought to himself but he trusted his instincts as he had been taught to do and entered. Luckily the key card worked on the door so it was the correct room. Inside was a pretty basic double room, nothing that he was not expecting. He did not suppose that there would be anything extravagant and it did not need to be. It would serve their purpose. Now all they had to do was figure out how they would get out of here with the two prisoners.

Dasi followed behind the protocol droid careful to keep an "eye" out for their quarry. As they walked through a hallway where two of the hutt's henchman were arguing she tried to pay extra attention but the door shut in their face as soon as something interesting was said.

As they left the palace Dasi mentally tried to put together the map they had looked at and the surrounding town. If their quarry wasn't in the palace she could be anywhere here. They would have to find a way to search the town or talk to someone in their search. It would not be an easy task, hopefully their Master would find a lead and a way to tip them off from his cell.

As they entered the building where their quarters were the young Togruta made a show of staring down the Trandoshan as they doubted the pairs "capture" of the Jedi. She was unsure if anyone would believe that she was playing the role correctly. All she had to go on were bad audio books that she had listened to on the datapad. Anyone prudent might notice she was behaving exactly as a certain character in a certain book...

As they entered their room the young Togruta closed the door immediately before taking her helmet off. "By the force these are uncomfortable. How do other species wear these all the time?" Her next step was to walk to the couch while removing armor plates and stacking them neatly on a nearby table. "And armor, how could anyone wear it. People say things like it being a second skin but all this does is make me feel twice as big and twice as likely to bang into something." As soon as the plates were off she sat on the couch before sighing and staring up. "Did you see a klatoonian anywhere?"

The supplied room was basic in its design, but it was apparent that Obaa the Hutt was generous as his employees were treated to reasonable living conditions. The beds were comfortable and clean while the conditioning unit cooled the ambient air to combat the harsh head outside, and was adjustable to change according to the residents preferred temperature. The decor was simple and neutral allowing for its residents to flavor the room to personal taste. The day was passing by and the Twin Suns began their descent among the horizon. The most notable change was the sudden dip in temperature and like many desert environments the heat swiftly dissipated when night replaced day. Secondly a blanket of indigo and orange covered the skies, offering the perfect ambience for star light to pierce its veil. A trio of silhouetted Humanoids roamed the sand streets, lighting the pedestals of fire.

Once the night settled the nocturnal wildlife emerged from their sanctuary, the flutter of insect wings and the patter of small lizards and creatures filling the void of silence. It was a contrast to the barren Planet during the day. In the nights whisper voices were heard in their surroundings, though concentration was required to decipher.
Perception Roll [71] - The ambient noises of Mos Shuutas wildlife was soft enough to push away for clear dialogue to be understood. It involved a couple of unknown individuals, but the conversation switched between Huttesse and Galactic Basic dependent on who was speaking. The First voice was gruff and deep, its reptilian accent indicating a strong similarity to their soon to be lieutenant "....sure you load the contents in the Warehouse. Collection is scheduled this time tomorrow.". Another voice spoke up, this time in Huttesse ""Do Jee-jee have Tah load Ta goods?"
"No. The Landing Bay crew is assigned. You simply have to make sure those goods are on that shuttle. Clear?"
"Hando, meet Uba at Ta cantina". The third voice was one they may have recognized if they paid enough attention on their departure from the Stronghold. It belonged to the Twilek before the doors were abruptly shut on their conversation "I've business to attend. Ill see you there."

Jaered had to agree with Dasi, armour seemed uncomfortable and he could not wait to also remove his. Perhaps it would have been better if it was a good fit but either way, it felt too heavy to be moving around in. Unfortunately, they needed it as the job had the potential to get messy and without the aid of their lightsabers, that armour was their only protection. “I know what you mean…” he sighed as he slid out of his breastplate.

He shook his head. “No sign of any Klatooinian. We’re going to have to think of a reason to look through the cells. Maybe we’ll get lucky and be assigned as jailers,” he wished, though he highly doubted it would be so easy. It was unlikely that they would be entrusted with keys to the prisoners; Jaered fretted that they probably had a harder role to play.

The Naboo Padawan sat on the edge of the bed, his Master’s lightsaber in his hands. I looked over every detail and design to the hilt, admiring it. Though rather plain, it was unlike any that he had seen before – a black hilt with blue accents and a cross-guard (a feature that must be rare on laser swords). Though it was quite light, the weight of responsibility made it more profound.

Thinking on this, he spoke to Dasi without his gaze leaving the blade. “So how long have you been with Master Vaal then?” He knew that they had spent some time together prior to him joining them but he was still unsure as to how long the two were acquainted.

As the two spoke, voices could be heard outside their quarters. Jaered only half-listened as he was more preoccupied with the lightsaber until he heard the more familiar voice. His head immediately rose but it seemed the conversation was at a close. It was the voice of one of the lackeys who were arguing in the palace. They seemed to have something up their sleeve and from what he heard, something was happening at some point tomorrow.

Dasi groaned as Jaered told her he didn't see any Klatoonians around. "We should sneak out once the lights go out and its dark. Maybe we should head to the Cantina and get as many people as possible drunk. Would probably make our jobs a lot easier. Could also give us an excuse to be places we shouldn't be." The fact they hadn't found anyone would make the mission harder, but they would have to adapt.

She turned to face her fellow padawan as he asked her how long she had been with Master Vaal. "Not much longer than you really. Although I've spent only a few days with him at most. Almost as soon as he selected me to be his padawan I got sent to work with Master Tallis then when I returned you showed up." She smiled as she went through the memory of the when Jaered had actually shown up. "Truth be told, I hadn't realized the ship was getting cramped. The escape pod was big enough for me."

She opened her mouth to speak again but stopped as soon as she heard voices outside the room. In a moment she was up from her seat with ear against the door. Listening carefully. She put a finger up as if to tell Jaered to be silent. What a interesting conversation. As the conversation died down and she sensed the thugs leaving she turned back to Jaered. "Should we investigate that too? If we catch someone up to no good here we could always inform Ooba about them. It would make him favor us."

The Transdoshan, Twilek and the unidentified third participant separated at the conversations climax and branched off to opposite sides of Mos Shuuta. From the barracks the green Reptilian Tetrapod casually paced its large frame across the road and into the Palace. He would proceed his walk through the buildings reception, down the great hallway before turning left, opposite the stairway leading to Obaas domain. The doors which barricaded the hallway from the room beyond was accessible only by swipe card. The Lieutenant entered, the automatic entry sliding closed behind him. The room beyond led to the Workshop and Cargo Bay which further connected to the communications hub and the server room. It also branched off to the holding cells downstairs or to the Strongholds external landing pad.

The unidentified figure walked briskly in the direction of the landing pad which was found on the opposite side of the settlement. Their dark silhouette strode down the path leading from the Warehouse to the Water Tower, the adjacent elevated lights offering poor illumination. Once at the Water Tower they turned right towards the Slagworks, making a left at the slaughterhouses entrance and finally towards the Landing Bay.

The Twilek more or less followed their shadowed companion but diverted at the Water Tower. Instead of heading towards the slaughterhouse he followed the parallel pathway, a low and narrow trail shaded by multicolored cloths and canvases. He pushed through the fabric tunnel which led him to the foot of a long roped bridge leading to the Shantytown. Like the main section of Mos Shuuta, the Shantytown was located atop a high cliff in the desert. These bridges connected the smaller masses of elevated land, giving this Stronghold the advantage of higher ground. The Twilek casually crossed the first bridge towards the slums.

“Getting people drunk could give us information but that will also make them more likely to be hostile, especially the types of people the Hutt employs,” he explained, not wanting to get caught in the middle of any violence. For one, it would probably not end well but it would also not look great considering they had only been there for a couple of hours.

Investigating could help. The voices seemed suspicious and something felt off. Whilst combat was something he was yet to improve on, sneaking around was something that he was good at. Jaered was light on his feet but the clunky armour would slow him down and cause noise so if they were to pursue anyone, he would be leaving it behind. It was risky but less so than alerting them of his presence. “I guess it couldn’t hurt to look… try and find out anything that could help us.” He hoped that that statement would not be proven wrong but he did not feel too confident about it.

Jaered once again donned the cloak to hide the lightsaber that was attached towards the back of his waist, the two blasters either side of his hips. As the footsteps were distant enough, the door to their living quarters sprung open as Jaered sneakily peeked around the corner to make sure they would not be seen. He was not sure if Dasi was planning on splitting up or not but to him, the Twi’lek seemed to be the one to keep an eye on, based on his conversation back at the palace. Plus, Trandoshans were quite intimidating…

Darting behind walls in order to not be seen, Jaered trailed the duo to a large water tower that stood sentinel amongst the tan-coloured buildings. That was when the two diverged and Jaered decided to stick with his gut and followed the Twi’lek through colourful sheets, remaining in them whilst he crossed the exposed rope bridge. Heights did not scare Jaered but there was no cover on a flimsy bridge over an immense drop to the sandy ground below. Waiting until the man was off the bridge and amongst the slums, Jaered quickly crossed, hoping that he had not lost sight of the one he was following.

Dasi nodded to her fellow padawan and hesitated as she put on the helmet that would mask her condition. If she got caught there would be no question whatsoever in the compound that it had been a Togruta, and she was likely the only one present for a long ways. Hesitance won her over however and she placed it over her head. She skipped the armor plates. She needed to be stealthy and a bunch of armor making noise every time she took a step would get in the way.

She followed shortly behind her Jaered, careful to make sure that she was making as little noise as she snuck behind them. As they approved the water water and the duo split up she sighed softly as she realized they would have to now split up. Inwardly she cursed at Jaered as he immediately split off to follow the Twi'lek, leaving her to follow the mysterious one apparently heading towards the landing bay.

She was careful to keep next to walls, avoiding line of sight with her target. Luckily she had the advantage of knowing where he was even if she couldn't see him directly.
