Throughout my mid lengthened time on the site I have heard of weddings scenes between characters and the occasional sibling characters but then I thought to myself why are the not more of these?, In some of the profiles the characters are either orphans or have family members that are differenced in their history but never seen. Personally I think family's/characters are a great idea and could be a good driving force for some of the characters story's and development

I have a feeling some people might be up for this but the general idea is to make a thread like the one used to store character bios where people can post threads with details of their family line. The family's don't have to be massive in numbers as they can consist can exist of just a few people and maybe grow as the characters have children or marry. I know familys of characters are rarely mentioned in the canon SW universe but this is not the first time we have spanned off with cool and unique ideas

Sounds good. How about the family has Jedi and Sith yet they get along?

Personally I think a union between a Jedi and a Sith wouldn't work because of belief differences and the fact both factions are trying to slaughter each other over control of the galaxy. Though its all up to the characters opinions of the faction. After all some have mixed feelings about the Jedi and Sith orders in general. Though some might harbour a hatred for certain species rather than factions *strokes chin*

This is kind of an inspiration for the character I'm writing right now. He's the bastard son of a noble line from Serenno and is motivated by taking his 'birthright' back from his brother. He'll be the start of his own bastard dynasty that may continue on at some point.

I didn't even see this on the sly. Gaja and I have got something kind of like this in the works for our characters, Juno and Guhoo Armstrong. We're actually in the middle of formulating a really complex and detailed backstory for the generation previous to them. We haven't previously discussed opening the Armstrong family line to others, but I'm open to the concept. Of course, if anyone is interested, feel free to PM me - there's quite a story that goes into the "Armstrong Legacy"; intrigue, betrayal, sacrifice, love, war, and all the other crap that makes a damnfine saga.

I was also planning to do family related matters for both my force sensitive PC's. It'll be trickier for the first to be involved compared to Azur's folks, but I do agree it lends more to an rp than some otherwise think. So it'd be interesting to see like, an assembled series of family trees, or mini-bios for relevant NPC folks.

here is ( some) of the recorded Baatch/Bac family tree - this does NOT count the spin off families like Jhonny's branch - nor does this " exactly ' give a clear indication of time passage, as this starts around the force wars....and the newest names being Reina Baatch ( born just pre skip in this era)

overall I think 79 individuals are named or accounted for some names and individuals dont show because the map compresses when zoomed out to show mostly blood ties not additional ones like- the parents of a wife that married into the family - which you need to zoom in for

I have a character(s) Torc and Amelleous who are either linked familialy or looking to be with other characters. Also, I was considering having Nor'baal in a Hutt marriage!

Cant see how I missed this:

this is psudo true and untrue all at once. The majority of the time it would not, more so I think because individuals on both sides don't even consider it - but there are times it has worked. in canon and in our lore. it really will boil down to the individuals and the extremes they follow.

one example in our lore is Dalharil Ebonclaw Baatch- whom was a jedi master and Warden. She married a " light" Sith pureblood Named ( Darth Aya) - Aathean Staavah. They even created a Daughter Named Sinuma ( who herself became a Jedi/Warden)

someone like Viea, whom was light or dark or whatever it was the force needed her to be is even harder to pin down.

Skhai is married to a Jedi - Terris- ( though Crystavians by nature are polyamorous so more spouses could show up over time) and she in her mindset does not discriminate on what to her are insanely petty and judgmental conditions. Jedi and Sith philosophies are in reality near identical when one looks at it from a broad sense much like alot of the real life religions , look at all the infighting in the Abraham-based religions fighting over the little details..... but step back you see how they really are virtually identical - that's how skhai sees most force philosophies

if it helps, shes the sage master.... yet she is willing to consider Veroer - THE dark lord, as her friend

so again its down to the individuals more than not

EDIT:

also moved to general rp ooc

I regularly make use of the Kisgart family, as I've always liked the ideas of having characters who, in some way or another, have a connection with the others. Fy and Zorne are related (though I never use Zorne), and I make subtle references in write-ups and posts that make use or and reference other characters or threads. It's not really set in stone aside from what's in the Kisgart Industries writeup and what's in my characters' sheets, which allows freedom in expanding it, family members, etc.

However, discounting wives, it goes a bit like this:

Myren Kisgart
\/
Drail Kisgart (Son)
\/
Wesrot Kisgart (Son)
\/
Fruhn Kisgart (Son)
\/
Fyron Kisgart (Son), Tragsik Mas (Adopted Son), Cham Kisgart (Son) (The latter two have no descendants)
\/
Fyston Sutsgy-Kisgart (Son), Sam Kisgart (Son)

I'll likely throw in more members when I make an official family tree to further flesh out the family.

As far as making one big PC family, I like the idea. It's unique, and allows for CD across different threads and arcs. If you want to make one, go for it!

I ended up using a free service like Family Echo to build up and fill in the family tree... may help for keeping record of who is tied to who and when etc

I have a real rich lineage for Sisk and his family, dating back to the Mandalorian wars. It's a pity I haven't had a chance to really expand on it IC. Also, my entire Clan is based around the ideal of "Family First". Sisk is actually married to a former Sith, and they have two biological and one adopted child, who I'm really hoping to expand upon at a later date.
