I see a way of getting around the whole 'not enough mandos' thing.

Rheas isn't a mandalorian, but he's being accepted and trained as one. Why not have peopls like that? This Indie could have around 50-100 mando NPCs with the rest being non-mandos who wish to be taught the culture of this dying race.

I'll give a nod towards this. While I'm still elusive these days, I am -around- and Grim is keeping me up to date on most of the stuff I should know. Also, if you need a bit of IC Storyline backing as to where you get some of these NPC Mandos:

http://www.thestarwarsrp.com/forum/showthread.php?55516-Survival-of-the-Fittest

While I somewhat left what happens to those civilians open ended, as they were never intended for anything more than just for story purposes, and I want to stress heavily that they are NOT military trained or soldiers, and that I had always assumed that most of them had filtered off into the Mandalorian Barracks that the Hutts had set up, I'm sure it could easily be constructed that some of them found their way to this project. Again these aren't soldiers, so can't be counted towards battle, but might be a way to story in some refugees. (Though you might want to ask for some admin stamp)

Yes. So much yes. These will all work out superbly, and give great IC reasons for having the extra personnel.

I'm not sure how yet, but I'll find a way for Clan Fett to become involved in this. I'll figure something out.

As an administrative note, you cannot RP with this faction or elements belonging to it in any way until it's approved. Until Lavi greenlights it then this doesn't exist insofar as the RP is concerned, meaning that any roleplays done as part of the faction are void.

Additionally, as for the cost we discussed, I was under the impression you were talking about a ground-based outpost, so I must've misread something. There's not a chance you could get a space station without paying a real pretty penny, but I'll leave that discussion to the ground thread.

Lastly, as a strong reminder, the Mandalorians are virtually extinct courtesy of genocidal purge of their space. Any Mando faction that gets off the ground is going to be extremely limited in its potential for growth, if it can grow at all. You should keep that in mind in all things pertaining to this organization - the fact that nearly every Mando in the 'verse has been glassed. There's next to no money left to go around, no infrastructure, and few warriors left. They're a textbook example of a broken people.

I haven't done that.

How pretty are we talking about?

I've been told that a lot. I get the message.

Well if you use real world dollars as a benchmark, the international space station cost 150billion.
Even if you are overly generous on my real world to sw conversion of 1%, you're still talking 1.5 billion.

Except that this is star wars, and any real world conversions are bunk. Cassanova, please stop trying to scare me.

I'm not trying to scare you at all.
Just giving you a stick by which to measure. And those real world conversions aren't as useless as you might think.

I just doubt 30 mil is going to be enough for a space station, and I imagine others might share that sentiment. You may need to speak to lavish about that, and consider exploring the possibility of having just the planet side assets.

He's only trying to help you, mate, and honestly I'm not sure this is all going to be worth the cost and effort. Hidden bases are great, but within the RP they have a nasty habit of being discovered, especially when there's a Main Faction actively hunting the owners down, as is the case for the Mandalorians who have, what I imagine would be quite the large bounty on their heads from the Sith. No matter how many precautions you take, or protocols you put in place I guarantee someone's going to find it. Especially if the plan is to have a shipyard which will require resources to be gathered, and products exported all of which put your haven in even greater trouble. Especially considering that the Sith do know where Lehon is, and have been there on a few occasions in the RP if I'm not mistaken.

And this is just my personal preference, but I don't think gathering anywhere is really a good idea given the target on the Mandos backs right now. Smaller bands of PC only groups, doing the classic wandering bounty hunter are the way to go. No huge bases that aren't going to be more than targets, invest in things like safe houses, personal weapons, smaller non-capital ships. Things that won't stand out and say "BUNCH OF MANDOS HERE".

The only RPs concerning this faction that I know of so far are when Tala Outlander tries to get funding for the upcoming faction. I hope this is k.

It appears that a space station is too expensive and ground bases are too risky. I like Starburns' idea about having numerous small safehouses located across the galaxy. Per faction rules I think we might be able to star with fibe safehouses. We might be able to fit in lots of cool stuff into these safehouses, think quality over quantity.

There are not enough Manalorians to make a full independent faction, but we could make a faction with few mandalorians, maybe somewhere between 10-50, with the rest of the NPCs starting out as non-mandos. The few true mandalorians can train the non-mandos. The non-mandos can also be taught the mandalorians culture. Eventually there will be a new race of mandalorians, built on the ashes of the old.

Of course Outlander has the final say on what this faction actually contains and employs, with the admins approving it. These are just my hopefuly helpful suggestions.

Hmm. Ok. That would work. Kinda like the Mandalorian underground railroad. Less cost, better security. We may even set up a sort of mobile base. I'll start working on the details.

Edit: I updated the main post to reflect the new design.

This is an excellent idea. Like the Lifeline of World War 2. Or if you want to be awkward and creepy, ODESSA.

Also, an interesting aspect will be how they will work with the Rebellion - and how my Clan Fett will be able to help, because help we will.

Needless to say, I really like this new take on it. Exciting times!

Knock it off, Cass. You're clearly being antagonising, so you're not to post in here any more.
