I'll go looking through my PMs.

But if you're going to go and say you have ideas but won't post them, then please just stop posting. Also the highlighted remark isn't going to win favors if you going to be acting Mandalorian in OOC discussions that are determining the fate of more then just our faction. Just so you know.

I'm well aware of the difference between IC and OOC, Phil.

If I start posting a plan that may very well be used, someone from another faction could very easily use that information in some manner, preparing their characters or taking precautions to minimize the plan's effectiveness. That is a risk I'd rather not take. It has nothing to do with acting Mandalorian OOC... it's just common sense.

It'd be a very dick move if someone else stole our plan we were to use and they use it on us. But this is why we have the Command Center for certain Mandalorians, only certain Mandos and staff can view it since it is password locked. When the time comes, those passwords will be distributed to select members so we can discuss it.

And for the record, I went back and saw your plan you mentioned. To not give anything away and to respect your wishes on not posting it here, It sounds like a good idea, but I fear that we may now be past that point in the plan.

well lets just now say all the planning in the world is now bumpkins since what fusion just showed me the Sith now have an I win ship and the admins seemed to ignore it so the Sith now have a vary unfair advantage in space. I want some plans and new ships to counter a Super Laser equipped vessel consider it homework for all Mandalorian RPers, as I have a few ideas but it means complete re-work of my prototype vessel designs.

I have a cooperative plan in the planning stages to work with the Mandalorians in order to counter this threat. If Arm and I can verify and smooth things out, Project Icanus will be underway very soon.

You sent out the PM voicing your concerns to admins just earlier TODAY. Seriously, chill the **** out.

Dude, I just PM'd you about your flawed logic today. You're not understanding that not all superlasers are superweapons. A superweapon is, in a nutshell, a military instrument of war designed to operate with destructive force far outside the typical norms, such as destroying planets or planet systems.

Just check out Wookieepedia -- it's right there in the introduction; there are much weaker superlasers that operate on the level only capable of destroying other enemy capital ships. That's the limits of the main weapons. Ship-to-ship destruction, not planet.

Your opinion of a superweapon (ignoring the fact it's contrary to Star Wars' definition) is illogical, especially your reasoning that because it's a big ship with a weapon that has "super" in it, it therefore must be a superweapon, and against the rules.

And dude, did you even look at the specifications of it? It fires once every seven rounds. Seven. And it destroys one ship. Unless you're a devastatingly poor fleet commander, you'd do more damage in general during the battle rounds inbetween.

still a one shot kill weapon even if its once every seven posts with support it will tear through the fleets bigger ships since its a one shot kill weapon excuse me for voicing this but considering its is a one shot kill weapon no matter its limitations its still a super weapon because lets see how this plays out in this little comparison.

you have three ships in each fleet, 1 dreadnaught and two escorts oh say around battle cruiser size, now the imp fleet same numbers 1 of your SL's equipped dreadnaughts and its one shot capabilities, and same escorts.

Now you ship fires its SL destroys my bigger ship leaving my two smaller vessels to handle a dreadnaught and its two escorts now guess what maybe if your nice enough to count a possible destruction of one your escort vessel but heavily damaged my vessels now your ready to fire again bam another one destroyed and guess what down to one and then overwhelmed.

see the issue, of this one shot kill SL? No then consider me bitching for bitching sake but don't come complaining and I don't want to see an admin yelling at me when one of the Mandalorian vessels end up having a superlaser, with same capabilities.

now fine you want to continue this in PM's fine but I just wanted to enlist the help from the rest of the faction to counter this threat.

You don't seem to comprehend, so I'll say this as clearly as I humanly possibly can.

Neither. By. This. Site's. Standards. Nor. By. Canon. Star Wars. Standards. Would. This. Ever. Be. Seen. As. A. Super. Weapon.

Just because in your mind you consider it one doesn't make it so.

Okay, I'll humor you.

First of all, only three of the Apocalypse-class SDs even exist, and only one commissioned, as it's the Emperor's flagship. I only say this because you're of the mentality that these will be spammed.

Second, three ships isn't a warfleet. Not by any stretch of the imagination. That is as bad of an example as providing a one-on-one situation. Reason; what battle is going to survive seven full rounds with only three ships?

Use fair logic; even the slowest of battles have respectable causalities well before that. If it takes a superlaser to decide what seven rounds of battle couldn't, there's a problem with leadership and tactics. Judging from your reasoning, I can tell you've never RP'd in a space battle before, have you? If you have and I'm wrong, please show it. I have to see a battle of seven full rounds that takes a major one-shot weapon to cause more damage than seven rounds of turbolasers.

see the issue, of this one shot kill SL? No then consider me bitching for bitching sake but don't come complaining and I don't want to see an admin yelling at me when one of the Mandalorian vessels end up having a superlaser, with same capabilities.

The Hell? Dude, I'm not complaining -- you are. Imperials have had a plethora of technology, both working and in high levels of development, for over a thousand years. This technology isn't new on any scale, or foreign. Hell, even Geonosians had technology of superlasers. In short, there is canon evidence backing up their possessing such technology.

There isn't for the Mandalorians. You want new technology? Gather the means to develop it ICly. Even the Sith have had to do that with tech they didn't have, one example being the lightsaber bomb used in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Stop ranting and raging and chill out.

now fine you want to continue this in PM's fine but I just wanted to enlist the help from the rest of the faction to counter this threat.

Dude, you're the one that took this out of the PMs in the first place. If you want to keep it in the PMs, then don't take it out to being with.

Actually, the superlaser on this ship seems exactly like, or an upgraded version of, the superlaser installed on the Eclipse. That was capable of cracking(not destroying) planets, putting it in the realm of a superweapon.

Yes, the Imperials have only 3 ships, but each ship has the capability to destroy an older Executor-class Star Dreadnaught with a single shot. The superlaser has the potential to immensely turn the tide of battle if it destroys a certain ship.

The Mandos just need to immensely scale up those beam cannons they got and bam! Planet-cracking, dreadnaught-killing superlaser.

I don't think this is the place to discuss any of this.

That may be, but The Sith seem to be, very graciously, extending the other factions a grace period to get their shit together. We may still be able to salvage it if we move quickly, and it may be our best bet for survival.

One, no it's not. I've said this repeatedly - it's destructive power is relative to capital ships. Even the nature of it was made up out of thin air by me so that it'd be different from the superlasers that fall into the superweapon category. And it's capable of destroying Destroyer-class vessels, not other Dreadnoughts.

I don't think this is the place to discuss any of this.

Nope, it's not. I'm done spamming this thread.

There are more subtle ways of tipping the balance of power to one side over the other. Not only will this declaration jumpstart the coming war, but after it is over, we will still be in the shadow of a galactic power that will either discard us, destroy us, or force us to conform to their standards. You are choosing the easiest, most obvious path. It isn't the wrong one, but it isn't the best one, either. We must walk a thin line if we wish to come out stronger than before... otherwise, we remain stagnant and we die out slowly, suffocated by the ambition of others.

To expand on this, I was just telling Syn the other day how things work in the rp world.

There will always be that need for the conflict to propel the site, or else the storyline will become less fun. If the sith/empire do end up squashing us to pieces, then the storyline will adapt.

The point being is that we need to adapt along with it and use such adaptations to our advantage, whether or not we continue to lose or we start rising again. This is exactly what will happen if the Imperial side of the war will win: We will adapt and our places within the story will change... Soooooo.... What? - We'll have to write new characters? Pfft. I LOVE writing new characters. Now, don't misunderstand me please, because I am not saying that our writing styles will change... The factions and the story will change.

This is my theory on what exactly is going to happen in chronological order:

  1. imperial side begins to crush us
  2. ga will fall
  3. the jedi will go into hiding
  4. the mandalorians will either fall or will surrender
  5. the mandalorians will become the same sort of underground as before
  6. a new rebellion will form
  7. the mandalorians will become allies beneath a huttese faction
  8. the mandos will merge with the rebellion
  9. the jedi will rise in numbers
  10. the rebellion will rise in numbers
  11. factions will grow
  12. war starts again

this is all of course a big theory, however, this is how I see it.

I think you would be interested in Cordens idea. There are many types of conflict...

Also, on another note, preparing in any way as a result of seeing this Sith composite beam weapon OOCly would be metagaming. Arm, unless your character or a Mandalorian operative has discovered this weapon IC, there is nothing you can do. I mean no offense. Just a friendly reminder.

As for this plan I have... it can be adapted fairly easily based on the circumstances and our needs. If Phil is willing to allow a few of us access to the Command Center sub-forum, I'd be willing to post a discussion thread and explain it in greater detail. That's a start, don't you think?

All super weapon discussion aside...

It would seem that some people here are, without a doubt, scared to adapt and change in the Mandalorians. They think if they do, then they will cease to be a Mandalorian, which is just a bunch of whore shiz right there. Factions and Cultures adapt, change and evolve over time even when they don't notice. It's happened before, and we won't be the last Mandalorians who do so.

Also, people need to learn from time to time, they can't always get what you want and sometimes things do not go your way. It does not mean that because of that then we are going in the wrong direction. This also included me incase anyone was going to question it. I wanted to do a few things for the Mandalorians, but was unable too and instead went to do what I thought was best for us before what I personally wanted.

So Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.

Either way, I still think you should give Corden the chance to voice his idea, whatever it is, to the others within the faction and give him access to the Command Center. There's no harm in brainstorming ideas before making a final decision.

We've actually been discussing it amongst a few of us, and Phil is entertaining the idea, but it would make it easier to have a small group session on the subject. It'd be a lot faster and cleaner than PMs.
