Mandalorian CCT Armour
Affiliation: Concordian Crescent Technologies ( CCT )
Ownership: Mandalorian Player Characters
Intent: Based on the general feedback I got about my Aliit'gam system tech last timeline, and based on past experience with the tech team's problems with Mandalorian armour in general, I've decided to revisit the concept of "Generic Armour" for a whole swath of player characters, eliminating the need for individual tech profiles which end up clogging up the tech boards and slowing down the tech approval process. With a universal armour, everyone who uses it has the same level of protection and functions bar personal modifications which can be placed in the character profile.
Plus Mandalorian armour's cool yo.
Intended Use: This armour is designed to fulfil a base level of protection for all Mandalorian player characters ( and characters who acquire it otherwise ) whilst still giving room for player freedom in terms of appearance. To use this armour, simply link it into the character profile as "Mandalorian Armour", followed by your own personal customisations, such as pieces you have made lightsaber resistant and your gauntlet weapons.
Model: Mandalorian Armour, CCT Production
Weight: 22kg without Jetpack, 30kg with.
Composition: Mandalorian armour is made from widely available durasteel, albeit forged with traditional Mandalorian techniques, adding infamous durability, as well as an armourweave flightsuit. Leather accoutrements are also present.
Rating: Mandalorian Armour is classed as Heavy Armour, and as such can withstand 3 hits from projectile or blaster based attacks. Individual pieces can be made lightsaber reistant, depending on player specification. The suit is sealed against hard vacuum as standard.
In summary, Mandalorian Armour provides good frontal protection from standard anti-infantry threats, with an emphasis on maintaining mobility over "tanking" hits.
Description: Mandalorian Armour consists of the following shared features, regardless of visual differences in design:
- Mandalorian helmet, with a rangefinder and a macrobinocular viewplate. The rangefinder is able to provide accurate distance measurement and 8x fixed zoom feature, shown on it's own viewplate. The helmet has a basic HUD that provides ensemble integrity feedback, temperature and environment readouts, alongside a compass. All HUD features are controlled from the gauntlet mounted control unit ( see Gauntlets ) while the RF needs to be manually brought into the viewing position.
The viewplate is the visor and protects against ambient light. It has no augmented vision modes by default.
- Front and back torso protection in the form of durasteel armour plates, as well as shoulder guards and groin plate. Backplate features mounting lugs for a jetpack or repulsorpack. Also included are thigh, knee and shin plates, all facing front. The rear of the legs are unarmoured, as are the upper arms.
- Underarmour bodyglove, designed to retain heat in cold environments.
- Armourweave flightsuit, resistant to accidental tearing and non-lethal shrapnel.
- Reinforced leather flak vest, resistant to tearing and lethal-shrapnel, covers the torso only.
- Ammunition belt and holsters ( if pistols are used ), made of leather. Honour sashes and cinch belts are also worn.
- Gauntlets, with two weapons or tool hardpoints per gauntlet and the primary control unit, equipped to the left gauntlet, which handles all helmet display functions as well as controlling the jetpack, if equipped. A secondary control unit on the right gauntlet for the use of weapons or tools mounted there. Gauntlet weapons are fired by using the primary or secondary control unit.
- Sturdy boots and gloves. Boots come with magnetic soles as standard.
- Basic filtration system designed to handle smoke, not toxins using disposable filters.
- Oxygen supply for 15 standard minutes of EVA activity, alongside a vacuum seal. The suit has no heating system, so 15 standard minutes is the hard limit before freezing to death.
