Maeve Mafeen is an eccentric journalist, HoloNet personality, and fashionista hailing from Indupar in the Independent Systems Consortium. Little is known about her early life. However, she attended the University of Indupar, where she studied journalism. It is believed that she fell in love with fashion while in school and got her first job writing for a notorious digital fashion magazine on her homeworld.

Maeve rose to popular fame in the Consortium as an eccentric guest judge who made regular appearances on televised drag shows. Her strange manner of speaking and over-the-top hairdos drew a rabid, localized online fanbase. She also became known for her sharp tongue and willingness to offer political opinions. Later, she was hired by the Consortium's wing of the HoloNet News Network as a correspondent, but the popularity of her appearances led her to land her own opinion show, which she anchored. "The Maeve Mafeen Show" offered political and fashion commentary in Maeve's signature style. She also frequently wrote op-eds for the HoloNet News whenever she felt the news warranted her take on intergalactic matters.

Over the years, Maeve's journalism has attracted its fair share of criticism in addition to its popularity at home. Intergalatically, she has been criticized as sycophant of the current Thorne administration and a harsh critic of both the governments of the New Republic and the Free Worlds Alliance. She has also been quoted on record as despising both the Jedi and Sith Orders for "their utter lack of style." Maeve has categorically denied being a sycophant of President Thorne, claiming her praise for the president stems mainly from his sense of fashion. Whatever the case, she continues to cover the news, making an honest enough living to occupy a splendid manor on her homeworld.
