The perplexed and confused expression held over the teens features as the Jedi Master established and controlled the mental link between her and the Jedi, an emotional cocktail of worry, awe and wonderment radiated from the teen, as she could see images of a past life that wasn't her own. She saw images of the Jedis life, that filled her with perhaps more questions that she could ever hope to be able to count yet alone be able to recall in a short space of time. Blinking for a few moments as the link was closed and the Jedi master pulled his hand away, the blonde looked at her hand for a few moments, turning it over a few times - making sure that it was in fact her own hand that she was looking at and not a memory.

Her attention lifted up to Maxims as he spoke out to her, but this time in her own native tongue. Her eyes widening for a moment as the surprise of hearing these strangers speak her language, before her expression softened before nodding. "
Tha, ach ciamar a tha seo comasach?
"
Carlyn spoke, as she cocked her head to the side slightly, her brow furrowing as she looked over Maxims before her gaze flicked over to Drastus as he handed her back her staff. A warm smile crossing her features as she nodded in thanks, watching the exchange between the two men - part understanding some of their discussion, or at least some of the words being exchanged.

Pursing her lips in thought, Carlyn mused whilst she rocked her staff back and forth for a few moments. Watching as the vine like metalwork orbited around the faintly glowing crystal. Before shooting a curious expression towards Maxim's hand, her brow furrowing as she tried to process all that she had witnessed and experienced, from the sensations that she had felt as the bond was created and the array of memories that had lingered in her mind. "You use Jedi..." the teen spoke as she pointed towards her hand before pointing at Maxim's own ungloved hand. "Mean that I use Jedi... I not an....
"Bana-bhuidseach" ..... You speak witch. "
She continued, questioning Maxims in an uncertain tone, mostly because of what she was attempting to ask the older of the Jedi in Galactic Basic - and was completely unsure whether she had even conveyed her fragmented understanding of the words into coherent structure.

"A bit of both, really." he explained to Drastus when he asked about the process, "It's similar to 'invading' someone's mind however so it's not something a Jedi does lightly. Even if we are able to do it without causing any negative side effects."

Sith were capable of pulling information from people's minds as well but they tended to be a whole lot more painful with it. He was half convinced that they made it hurt just because they could, not because it was required for the technique. Though active defenses of the mind did have to be torn down to take information. If there weren't any? That worked too.

"I'm honestly not sure what words are nearby but it reminds me, a little, of some accents of Basic."
he admitted to Drast, "Hopefully that means it won't be too hard to teach her Basic..."

Enough to be able to communicate with at least. He chuckled a little bit as she spoke, able to understand... some of what she was saying but not all of it. Odd phrases or words eluded him and they'd need to spend a lot more time together for him to do better. He used Jedi?

"I also left something behind."
he told Drast with a grin before holding out the same hand again, "I use the Force. The Force is..."

He gestured to the staff and made sparks of golden light dance in his hand again.

"This is the Force. Drast - levitate something so she can see it's not just lights... and not just me."

"You're going to need to teach me that one day, Master Tionson. When I am ready to learn it, of course." Drast would say, fairly impressed. He wasn't sure about the techniques that went into invading minds, but he was sure that it would likely be very messy and therefore never attempt something until he without a doubt, was certain he wouldn't fracture someone else's mind. "So could we theoretically remove someone's pain? Their trauma?" he asked.

"Ah-ha!" he'd find the translator and bring it over to Max, extending it out to him. "I wonder if it's like a dialect of Zhell.. Wonder if she would understand Mando'a.." he mused. "So.. what did you leave behind?" he would ask after some hesitation.

At Max's order he would crack a grin. "Aye aye, Master." using the Force, he would lift Carlyn's glass of tea and guide it to her line of sight. "Thirsty?" he would ask.

A bemused expression held over her features as she picked up and understood only part of the conversations being held between Maxims and Drastus, a few words here and there she could understand part of the meaning to, from the small nugget of implanted memories left by the Jedi Master. The look on her face however soon transitioned into a thoughtful expression as the Jedi master turned to address her, explaining that what he used was called the Force, before making his hand spark and glow again. Her eyes following the gesture towards her staff, before nodding in understanding.

"Jedi... use Force, You Jedi " She spoke as she looked over her staff, looking at the flickering glow of the Kybers that were resonating to her contact and presence. Her Attention shifted away from her staff as the younger Jedi spoke out to her, her eyes widening as her gaze set upon the floating glass. Her jaw seemed to unhinge as her mouth hang agap as she looked over the glass, before turning her narrowing gaze towards Drastus.

Tentatively and cautiously, the young teen reached a hand over towards the glass, waving it underneath it, around its sides and then over the top of the glass. Suspecting at first it was some form of trickery using strings or something hidden from her view, but the more she looked over the glass, waving her hand around it, and even prodding the container, nothing could explain why this glass of tea was floating in front of her. "You Jedi too?" Carlyn inquired as she turned her attention back to the Padawan. "How Force do this?"

Max smiled a little bit and patted Drastus on the shoulder - a hunger for knowledge but with a healthy dose of realism about his own progress towards it? That was something that Max liked to see in Jedi these days. He grinned a little bit before thinking about it a little bit. What Drast was describing was... difficult for a number of reasons.

"It's... a grey area."
he admitted with a small sigh, "Both morally and in regards to what can actually be done with the technique and the Force. Someone who practiced the mind arts their entire life? They may very well be able to do that. Or perhaps as a part of a group of powerful and skilled individuals - there are historic examples of rewriting entire minds."

Not that he would ever approve of such an action but it was still an option.

"Some language... some memories of myself as a Padawan."

She was thinking about things rather literally... or at least she was speaking as though she was. That was likely due to the language barrier though as, with only a basic understand of Basic (haha), she likely didn't understand the subtle ways she could speak. Some people who knew a lot of Basic didn't really know them either though so it was a plus.

Max gave Drastus an amused look at him showing off the Force - not that he blamed the boy considering he was doing the same. He nodded.

"We are Jedi."
he agreed with her, pointing toward her, "You, Carlyn, have Force. You can be a Jedi, if you want."

She might not understand fully but he couldn't NOT give her a choice. Just bringing her to the Jedi and demanding she be one just because she didn't understand it fully was horrific.

A questioning look spread over the teens features as Maxims addressed her, confirming her aired conclusions in a less than fractured and broken use of this new language that she was now encountering. Her head tilting to the side as she tried to determine if she had understood what she believed to be an offer to become a Jedi, lips pursing for a moment as she even tried to think back to the implanted images that the Jedi Master had left on her consciousness.

"Cha chuala mi a-riamh mu Jedi roimhe seo. A bheil thu à Rìoghachd fad às?" Carlyn spoke out, figuring that perhaps it would be better to question in her own native tongue, as the older of the two men had spoke to her in the same language. Her response getting cut short as her attention was shifted to yet another strange device that started beeping and whirling for a moment before a strange sounding almost inhuman voice spoke out afterwards // I've never heard of Jedi before. Are you from a distant Kingdom? // the device recited back. Causing Carlyn to look confusedly at the strange device that Drastus had retrieved.

Choosing not to really worry about it too much, otherwise she'd probably become far to wary of her surroundings. From what she had experienced so far these people despite how strange and inconceivable this room they had brought her to was, they were for the best part far from hostile - so it would probably be best not to push her luck.

"Chan urrainn dhomh tilleadh dhachaigh, tha mi air mo fhògradh air sgàth mar a chleachd mi draoidheachd ... den Fheachd seo. Tha na laghan againn stèidhichte air earbsa bho Sorcerers agus mages, seach gu bheil an draoidheachd a bhios iad a ’caitheamh. B ’àbhaist dha a bhith gu robh mages uaireigin nan luchd-slànachaidh agus saor airson coiseachd nar measg. Ach an uairsin chleachd na mages an cumhachd gus ar fearann a sgrios agus ar teaghlaichean a mharbhadh, cha b ’urrainn dha na Morairean earbsa a chur annta tuilleadh agus cho-dhùin iad uile casg a chuir air draoidheachd." Carlyn explained with a saddened tone, knowing that the situation she now found herself in, was ultimately by her own choosing - she could have ignored the staff's whispers and continued to suppress and hide her fledgling abilities, but if she had done her home would have been lost.

// I can't return home, I've been exiled because of my use of magic... of this Force. Our laws are based around distrust of Sorcerers and mages, because the magic they wield. It used to be that mages were once healers and free to walk among us. But then the mages used their power to destroy our lands and kill our families, the Lords could no longer trust them and they all decided to outlaw forms of magic.// the device spoke out, once again catching the young teen off guard and drawing her attention, she could hear some of the snippits of what she had said in the words of this new language.

"Nam bithinn gu bhith nam Jedi, agus draoidheachd na Feachd seo a chleachdadh. Bu mhath leam ionnsachadh airson slànachadh agus dìon. Chan eil mi airson teine no stoirmean a chuir an cèill airson dachaighean dhaoine a sgrios. Mas urrainn dhomh dìreach a bhith a ’slànachadh, thig mi còmhla ri do Jedi" Carlyn resumed after a brief silence after the translation device had finished speaking. Her attention momentarily falling away from the two Jedi and back down to her Staff, lips pursing in thought as she looked over the glowing gem at the closest end. Her eyes would then only be looking up to meet Maxims own gaze once the device had finished, to hear his response //If I were to become a Jedi, and use this Force magic. I would want to learn to heal and protect. I do not want to conjure fire or storms to destroy people's homes. If I can just learn to heal then I will join your Jedi//

"Hmm checks out.." Drastus would muse to himself as Max spoke. He was tinkering around with the translator device and was fashioning it into a more respectable necklace. Keeping the major components of the device he would replace small bits here and there to make it more appealing looking. Once done, he would remove his own chain, one of many he owned, and attached the device to it.

Once satisfied with it, he would cross over to Carlyn and hold it up, offering it to her. "Here. Once we get back to Yavin, I can make it look even nicer. Just something simple for now." He would say with a smile. If she took it, he would let it go. If she bowed her head, he'd drape the chain around her neck.
