Nar Shaddaa/Casino
19:45 local time

Arden was once again on Nar Shaddaa. The last time he was here he kind of blew a place up. But that was all in the past, so no worries. Right now he had to start scoping out a casino for a job he was planning. The place was run by a Syndicate of all people, so he had to be careful...of course, that didn't mean anything along the line of "lose the armour and T-visor". So here he was, walking through the place with full armour and helmet, though the trench coat helped cover him up to keep most eyes off him.

He weaved through the crowds, skipping the tables as he made for the bar. When he got there he ordered a dark beer with a straw. The bartender seemed reluctant but he did as he was asked. When Arden's beer reached him he slid the straw under his helmet and took a good swig of the beer. With a satisfied sigh he sat back on a stool and watched the people come and go. Though he was more focused on the staff. The bouncers, the waiters, the security, the undercover people that were probably also in the mix that he needed to identify. He slid off the stool and made his way towards one of the gambling tables, standing by the edge to watch it all go down. But while his T-visor was staring at the games, his eyes were watching the people around him.

He really wished he knew more on how to break into things and not just shooting his way in. Gathering intel on the place would be much easier...

Alais found herself in the Crimson Dawn Casino once again, standing in the exact spot that the second chapter of her story started. But it was another day, another job; this time she needed a pair of hands. Hands that were attached to arms with some muscle to them. The hope was the muscled arms weren't attached to a brain with much function, or hopefully to someone crazy. Sometimes crazy was good.

It was then that she noticed a large figure in armor, big enough for the job. He was a humanoid shape, so the hope was he spoke basic. If not Alias picked up on languages fairly quickly which helped her career in more ways than one. Stopping before the man, she smiled soft and began, "Excuse me, sir."

Today she was wearing a pink dress that fit tight to her curves and just happened to push up her decently sized bosom. Of course it wasn't like she hadn't noticed when she put it on. It was worth the looks and sometimes assumptions, because it helped get the job done. "I have a quick job and credits to make it worth while. I need some packages carried to my place of work. It's nearby here so it wont take long."

Arden was quite taken back when a young girl approached him. He glanced down at her as she started talking to him, offering him credits to help her carry things around got her. He huffed and set his drink down on the side of the table. "Just 'cause I wear armour an' look like a merc doesn't mean I necessarily am one." he quipped flatly and looked off to the games again. But of course the offer of credits was tempting.

"Why you need a merc to carry it for you? Going through a rough area of town? Expecting company?" he asked her, looking at her again. "What's this package?" he continued, his hands shifting to rest on his hips as he turned to face her.

She looked feeble. She was clearly still young, but the outfit made him raise an eyebrow. She looked way too out of place to be in a sketchy casino on Nar Shaddaa. But what he wasn't appreciating was the fact that she was drawing attention to him. So, rather than stand in a group and having the exchange, he motioned for her to follow and walked back towards the bar counter to talk more privately. This was an odd request to say the least.

The man seemed to protest, but then proceeded to ask questions. This meant that he wasn't the ideal man for the job, but the less people she asked the better. Alais didn't answer anything right away, instead following him to a more secure area. Not that she cared if it was more private. The loudness of the crowd would cover up most of their conversation anyway. You had to be pretty close and caring to ease drop on anyone in a Nar Shaddaa casino.

"It's just some droid parts," she started again, sitting down on a nearby chair. "You see I run a humble repair shop and when it's late at night the streets can sometimes be dangerous. I'm not expecting anyone, just being careful." This story was probably a little too close to the truth, but as long as she got some muscle that's all that really matter.

Alais waved down a waitress, pointing to the merc-looking man after. The waitress understood what Alais wanted and nodded, coming up and offering one of the premade drinks on her tray. "Sir," the waitress said. Once again Alais spoke, "As I said I have a decent sum of credits to offer, if you choose to help me with this simple task."

Arden eyed her as she explained the proposition. But the mention of running a droid repair shop was what caught his curiosity. He raised an eyebrow as she ordered a drink for him, but he waved the waitress off. "Sorry, luv. No' my type of drink." he said casually. He leaned against the counter and stared at her for a second or two. "Tell you what. I'll help, no problem. But tell me somethin'. You know how to slice?" he asked her, taking a step closer.

"If you can, you can pay me half an' then help me out when I ask for it." he suggested. He had never met a droid repairman who doesn't have some ability in slicing. This girl looked capable...well to some degree, anyway. If she could help him out with the security in the building, then his life would be infinitely easier.

"Alrigh' lass. Lead the way then." he said with a shrug, waiting for her to lead the way before following after her to wherever she kept her things.

Alais listened quietly, answering when he asked if she knew how to slice. "I may know a friend of a friend that can slice." She took a drink sitting back in her chair, answering after he laid the deal out on the table, "It's a deal." In reality it was a limited deal, because she wouldn't slice anything associated to the Crimson Dawn. But he didn't need to know that until he'd done his part of the deal.

She stood up when he did and took lead, bringing him to a back room. The droid guards in front of the room allow her to pass without a single word, and only turned their heads slightly to get a better look at the man following behind her. Now... she knew that if this man had half a brain something about her association might click in his head when this happened, but it didn't really matter. He'd already made the deal and she hoped for both their sakes he'd keep his end of it.

Once they got inside the room she pointed to a box, then grabbed some garb that was hanging off a hook. Walking back up to him, she held it against his chest for him to take. "I just need you to wear this while delivering the... my goods," she said with a smile that only wavered once. She grabbed some garb too, a black cloak which she promptly draped over herself and her head. His outfit was different though; it was that of a delivery man with a logo of a company that didn't exist, but the colors on the outfit matched nearly perfectly to a legit and known one.

Once he picked up the (very heavy) box she'd lead him back out of the room, through the casino and onto the streets. They'd start to walk the opposite way from Alais' actual business, but there would be no way for him to know that.

Arden followed the girl to a different part of the casino. The droid guards made him raise an eyebrow as he walked past them. His hands her open and ready to draw, just in case they got any ideas. Already he didn't like it. This girl was up to something and he didn't like it one bit...she should just keep her end of the bargain and not cross him if she knew what was good for her. He didn't have an issue dropping a girl if she was trying to take advantage of him.

To his surprise, she pressed a shirt into his chest. He opened the shirt and looked it over, glancing at her. "I really hope you don't expect me to ge' rid of my armour to wear this." he commented. To just roll with it, he pulled it over his armour which looked odd to say the least. Anything longer than a first glance would either blow his cover or turn him into the laughing stock of the galaxy. Up next was to carry the box. With a grunt he lifted it off the ground and followed after her, peering past the box to see where he was walking.

He nearly collided with a patron of the galaxy who he properly told off in a bunch of very colourful words. With that out of the way, he stuck close and walked down the road whistling a song to himself as they made their way to wherever she wanted to go.
