Hmm. KES itself doesn't technically exist anymore. However, there are KES personnel still around, and they didn't quit the organization, so I assume so.

No, the bounty is not lifted. As Dan said, the organization may have been destroyed, but several key personnel still exist and the Hutts sorta deemed a blood feud against them.

Here's the thing: Cole protocol wiped all data from KES servers except those aboard Hells Nightmare. Per my post, Frank's post, and Kyle's post, Hell's nightmare got REKT. That means the last copy of all KES data just burnt up on it.

That includes member lists and where everyone was stationed, soo the Hutts have NO idea who is alive, who is dead, or who is/was where. :)

Guess Lester DeWitt is staying Davik Lorso then. ;-)
Here's me going back to hoping that the Hutts never find out...or are lenient in punishment.

EDIT: No data? Goooood. +1

That's true enough. Of course, good bounty hunters might be able to pick it up since we can just check the bodies of the people on the ground plus broadcast interception of Admiral Trane's location aboard Hell's Nightmare.

A) You don't know who was in Hell's Nightmare though because that burnt up. So bodies on the ground don't work
B) Not quite sure what you're saying about broadcast?

He's saying the Broadcast you're adding to your post.

And wouldn't data on Hell's Nightmare still be salvageable? I mean, he ship got destroyed, but I'm willing to bet data can still be recovered.

I thought you had him archived or something? I honestly forgot you were around (no offense, you've been dark for a little while it seems)

My character defected from the KES some time ago, so that broadcast would never have reached him because the (KES-issued) datapad it would be received on sits in the morgue with a Nar Shaddaa thug who had it on his lifeless body.

@Commissar Brett Yeah I jumped ship a while ago after a three month absence.

EDIT: This is not really part of the IC-thread, but hey, thanks all for putting your minds to figuring out what's what.

Not after it got that rekt. Several hundred concussion missiles, tens of turbolaser batteries just beating it, atmospheric reentry, and then crash landing + sitting in the bottom of the ocean = no chance that data is still around. Like at all. That shit is gone. Solid state drives are sturdy, but not that sturdy.

Oh. Broadcast was relayed to prevent tracking, and encrypted to prevent listening. Sent only on KES channels. Sorry :/

Trane nodded to the communications officer once more "Get me a channel to all KES personnel, anywhere. Make sure that it is relayed as not to be traced back to them."

"Yes sir."

He waited a moment and then saw the officer nod,

"KES personnel serving abroad, by the time you will watch this KES will have fallen. We are outmanned, out gunned, and outmatched by a coalition of Hutt Cartel, Bogan of Sluis Van, and Rebellion forces. Any and all KES personnel here are assumed to be dead, killed in action, as all our vectors of escape have been blocked. Through Cole Protocol all dataservers on the ground have been wiped, and with the destruction of Hell's Nightmare with it will be the last copy of all KES data, including members and where you all were stationed. Stay away. Do not come to Imynusoph, do not attempt to rescue any of us, do not attempt to seek revenge, walk away. Swear off your affiliation with KES. They do not know that you weren't here, don't let them know you weren't. Thank you to each and every one of you. Admiral Vestar Trane out." With tears in his eyes and a tightness in his throat he nodded, indicating his desire to terminate the line.

That's all my edit was.

I'm honestly not sure how wiping the data would disuade the Hutts in the first place. it's not like they had this data in the first place, and if they did, then the wipe wouldn't affect them.

Wiping hte data eliminated any trace of who was in KES or where they were stationed. That way the Hutts don't know who or where there bounty is.

But they had the bounty already without that information.

They had an open bounty on all KES personnel. They didn't know who KES was, but KES personnel were usually in or around wherever KES Headquarters or any KES facility was. Now there is no KES, and they don't even know IF anyone they have a bounty on is still alive.

this argument is meaningless (in my opinion). Even if the cartel kept a bounty how would they be able to identify KES from someone else?

Uhh, all the personnel files we got from them back when we attacked Sirius Primarus that Clayton said we got?

Oh, well there's that. My bad, I forgot about that. I mean still, I just wiped all the info about who got stationed where so there's no way to know that the ones not on the ground didn't burn up in Hell's Nightmare, especially like Commanders like Jacen, Inferno, Kyramud, all of which were typically onboard the Siren.
