Jump Training

[Bad Wolf]

Jenna watched as the other 2 women dropped out of view, making a third check of her equipment she then stepped out the back end of the drop ship, the extra gear created a little extra drag and made maneuvering a little more difficult, but Jenna was used to it, she had made several combat jumps in the past, she didn't do any fancy moves this time around just let gravity take it's time pulling her down as she floated their in the open void of Mandalore's sky, she rolled onto her back, and did a quick check of her rifle, removing the clip checking it's charge and placing it back in the rifle.

Levy and Allison both had their weapons and looked at Jenna on her back as Levy moved around the same way she always did. Now she was aiming with her pistols and grinning under the helmet as they waited to eject the shoots. Allison checked the rifle and worked on aiming down and keeping the sights on a target that was getting closer and closer until sher heard the beel and let it rest on the strap moving so she was going slower.

Jenna waited feeling the wind rushing past her, she watched as her HUD displayed the proper Altitude and speed, Her HUD blinked 2,500 feet
she flipped around somersaulting and coming around forward, she triggered the chute and shot upward as the Grav chute deployed and caught the wind. she triggered the maneuver jets and moved into the denser part of the jungle, she pulled back on the chute reigns and then dropped landing squarely on a large branch, she pulled her chute in and vanished into the foliage of the large tree.

Allison pulled her chute and came down near the jungle but didn't go for the tree she touched down and recovered the chute. Quickly heading in and looking for Jenna while Levy maneuvered and guided her chute coming down by the trees and fired the cutlesses into the truck with a loud bang. Slowly the tree started to come down as she landed on it and ran laughing until it crashed into the forest floor with her standing on it and lighting a cig. "You know Nightshade you got a good thing going here so back for more?"

Jenna swung from branch to branch dropping lower and lower through the large tree until she landed firmly on the ground, she looked up at Levy as she stood up, having landed behind her, she checked her rifle and signaled the return back to base, the hike should take about 2 hours at the most the drop ship should be back and refueled by then, and it would be close to dark, Mandalore only had a 26 standard hour day and it was close to autumn which meant they only had maybe 10 hours of daylight total, and having wasted 8 of them already it would easily be night by the time they returned, perfect for a Night jump.

"Last jump of the day ladies, this one is gonna be a night jump, tomorrow we will do mock combat jumps."

Jenna had scheduled jump training for the entire week, which meant the airfield was hers or atleast that hangar was hers, she needed to whip this squad into shape, which meant getting them jump ready, Rangers lead the way that's what her training told her, and that meant being able to handle any situation.

Allison looked at Jenna and Levy as she nodded a night jump sounded fine and the rest of the squad would be here throughout the week to work with Jenna. Well maybe not Zoe but that was different. She looked at Levy who was staring at Jenna and she reloaded the cutlesses with a grin taking a drag of the cig. "A night jump sounds fun, and combat drops will be worth it if we are shooting things."

Jenna head back towards base at a quick pace, she knew she was rushing the girls's training but it needed to be rushed especially if they were going to be hot dropping into combat zone, she needed a fully functional squad, by the time they reached the airfield the sun was setting, it would be completely dark by the time they got airborne and to the proper altitude for the next jump, she quickly marked off on her chart in the hangar, a standard jump, an equipped jump and now a night jump, she noted tomorrow would be combat jump, drop pod training and a combat night jump if she could fit it in.

"final run of the night ladies, and then it's chow time."

Jenna headed towards the drop ship giving the pilot a thumbs up, he prepped the engines and awaited her ok to take off.

Allison moved with Levy behind Jenna and they got ready for a night jump. It would be the same just had to watch out for the tree's on the way down. As she went towards the drop ship Levy cheered and Allison grinned rolling her shoulders. After this they could go and eat. Both climbed in and nodded that they wewre ready to go.

Jenna signaled the pilot and began closing the hatch as the Drop ship lifted off from the runway, Jenna sat down across from Allison and Levy and tapped her helmet.

"Your helmets have HUDs correct, and are also equipped with night vision, if not this jump is goin to get alot more interestin."

Jenna switched the interior lights to low running red and proceeded to check her gear and go over last minute jump preparations.

Allison nodded as she did her HUD and helmet putting it on while she rechecked everything. Levy did the same and just grinned putting the black helmet on and having the only color on her be the chrome pistols. "We got everything ready. Tomorrow more of the squad will be here with you." allison went back to double checking her equipment and rolled her shoulders. a night drop was just what they needed.

Jenna nodded and checked her wrist comp again, the light inside the drop ship changed from red to green, and the back hatch opened, outside Mandalore was dark, the night sky was covered in clouds, it definitely looked like it would rain at any moment, Jenna could barely see the ground below, the dense jungle looked like a black blanket covering the planet floor, directly to the east was a mountain range, she typed into her wrist comp and the drop ship changed course heading for the mountains, Jenna waited til they were within range and then signaled Allison and Levy to jump.

Levy and Allison both moved as they jumped without hesitation and Levy let out another wooooooooo as she went down. Third time was the charm and the most fun as their night vision was working to show the outlines of trees.

Jenna stepped backwards into the night sky and dropped, as she rotated around she scanned for a good LZ, she selected one that was within 1 kilometer of the airfield near the base of the mountains she punched in the coordinates into her wrist comp and transmitted them to Allison and Levy, then folding her arms back she rocketed down in that direction watching through her HUD as the mountain range grew bigger and bigger in her field of vision.

Allison nodded as she and Levy went towards the new LZ. She slowed the descent and followed after Jenna while Levy rocketed going for it quickly and hit the distance popping her chute with a "wooooooo" while she turned on a flashlight so they would know where she was."

Jenna angled herself downward and shot forward at the last possible minute she pulled back and popped her chute, she would need to time it just right, as she found a decent slope, she dropped, reeling the chute back in as fast as possible, she landed with a thud, putting one foot under her and the other out front she slid down the slope, she came to a stop on a cliff edge and stood up, pulling her chute all the way in and packing it back in.
she looked around for Levy's flashlight signal but couldn't see it, she looked up for Allison but had lost sight of her as well, she thought to herself, well split off from the squad in mountainous terrain, no communication, and running low on ammo, this is good training.

Allison came down and had been tracking Jenna. she landed higher up and her weight dug into the mountain as she grunted and gathered the shoot. Shye couldn't see Levy but heard her as she fired into a tree making both noise and a visual. Allison moved as she jumped landing on the incline and sliding down the hill towards the sound of the gun fire. This was a good exercise but she also had to find Jenna and all regroup.

Jenna put the coordinates for the base into her wrist comp and headed down the mountain taking her time and making sure she had secure hand and foot holds before descending the mountain, she slipped and fell landing on her back, the glacier she landed on was fairly old but still it was a glacier and she shot down it at an increasing speed, she spun around so her feet were facing down and grabbed for her M-1 vibro blade, slamming it into the glacier to try and slow her fall, she managed to carve a good slice out of the glacier but didn't seem to stop, she closed on the edge of the glacier, lost her grip on her blade and tumbled over the edge, her vibro blade went flying off down the mountain out of her view, she landed firmly on her back on a rocky ledge smashing her wrist comp against a rock when she landed, she twisted to avoid taking too much damage but managed to twist her right ankle and wrench her left arm all at the same time.

Jenna tried her comms again but there was too much interference, she needed to regroup but couldn't see where any of the others were, and she had no clue how far down the mountain she had fallen, or where her vibro blade was, she still had her rifle and both pistols thankfully, and all her systems seemed to be working except for her wrist comp which would need to be replaced, she reached into her utility belt pulled out a folded map and a compass and set about looking for a good course.

Allison found LEvy as they looked around, the one mando was keeping her flashlight on as they heard sounds and looked up. as Allison turned on her light and shouted. "JENNA, sound off if you can."

Jenna had plotted her course off the mountain, putting her map and compass back in the correct pocket of her utility belt, she stood up to continue her hike, she wasn't sure where her vibro blade had fallen ,In truth the knife had fallen quite a distance down the mountain, Jenna looked up as she thought she heard Allison's voice, she readied her REC-74 switched it full auto and emptied the clip into a tree a few meters away from her, and than began the 1km trek back to Base, her landing while not perfect had been spot on.

Allison and Levy heard the shots as they started back towards the base. It was a shorter trek but as they cleared the forest and saw it both looked around for Jenna.
