NAME: Jonas Kairn Leroy
FACTION: Imperial Knights
RANK: Captain (Navy)
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 33
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: 1m 83cm
WEIGHT: 83kg
EYES: Brown
HAIR: Light brown
SKIN: White
CREDITS: 1,000
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: The 202nd Imperial Marine's regimental tattoo on his right shoulder

"My father once told me what made a man. He looked me in the eyes and said "Son, you can be as smart, strong and good looking as anyone else, but what truly makes a man is loyalty and honor." I understand now that to surround yourselves with the best is futile, instead you should focus on surrounding yourself with those who know their duty, and are loyal enough to carry out their duty no matter what. Loyalty above all else."

STRENGTH: 6/10 Above average, as he keeps himself in very good shape. When he is not on duty or reading, he works out.
DEXTERITY: 5/10 Not especially fast or nimble, though can run for longer than most thanks to his strength.
CONSTITUTION: 5/10 His health is around the same as anyone, though again thanks to his body he is slightly more resistant to health issues.
INTELLIGENCE: 7/10 His greatest attribute, he has enough common sense for 5 and loves reading about military history. Tries to know something about everything.
WISDOM: 4/10 Not especially wise, though he does have good common sense.
CHARISMA: 3/10 He suffers greatly when in social contact with people. He is far from sociable, and will most likely only ever gain the respect of his men, instead of being liked by them.

SKILLS: He has good leadership skills, able to stay calm even in the most dire situations and follows his orders to the letter and has extensive knowledge of military tactics. He is also very literate and enjoys reading in his spare time, meaning he is also very well cultured.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+ Calm under fire
+ Good command abilities
+ Extensive knowledge of military history, strategies and tactics
+ Can fight better than an average combatant

+/- Follows any orders to the letter without much hesitation, whether they are to rescue allies or to bombard cities.

- Has a slight fear of heights, making him uneasy and nervous (he is perfectly fine on a ship, however)
- He is what could be called an "Old Imperial", believing the Empire is the only faction capable of maintaining Peace and Order throughout the Galaxy
- As an "Old Imperial", he views all other factions unfavorably, especially the Jedi, the Sith and the Underworld.
- Is secretly racist towards most non-human species, though tries to keep it to himself for professional reasons

GEAR:

- Military Uniform when on duty
- Civilian Outfit when off duty (normally a wealthy outfit)
- A K938 "Canine" Heavy Blaster Pistol
- Two vibro daggers
- Personalized datapad, with extra security measures and a deletion virus that will delete the contents of the datapad if ever it is hacked
- Backup of all information on his datapad in the form of a small memory card which he also carries everywhere with him
- Various military books he keeps in his quarters

SHIP: Stolen Tie Reaver, damaged and awaiting repairs when funds become available.

DROIDS: None

PETS: None

"I found out at a very young age that the majority of people are stupid and ignorant, so I decided instead of working with such people, I would instead serve those who were worthy of living. And who is more worthy of life than the Emperor?"

PERSONALITY: Jonas rarely talks, and when he does it is to remark on the current situation or give orders. Some may see him as a cold, cruel leader, not caring for the lives of his men. While part of that is true, it isn't the whole truth. He is simply doing his job and duty, and those who die under his command did their own duty. Funerals are the rare occasions he goes to social gatherings, the other being when is superiors demand it of him. He is also known to be very honorable, keeping any promises he makes if he can.

He can be a tad arrogant sometimes, and very stubborn. He is, however, very lonely in the universe. Because of his upbringing, he made no real friends and after the Sith struck he was betrayed and had to leave everyone he knew behind him, including his only real friend and potential lover. This has made him not only angry, but even colder than he was before.

MORALITY AND LOYALTY: Leroy's morality is very complicated. He dislikes killing people in cold blood, or leaving men behind. Massacring for a massacre's sake is not how he likes things, and will almost certainly question such orders. If, however, the massacre serves a reasonable purpose or his superiors keep on insisting on it, he shall do his duty without hesitation. People deal with committing atrocities in different ways, but Leroy comforts himself in the knowledge that whatever he has done was for the Empire, for the "greater good".

Leroy won't just question orders he finds morally wrong, however. If he believes a better course of action is available, he shall point it out to his superiors. If he believes the orders will harm the Empire more than they will help it, then he again question them.

All of this aside, he shall never disobey a direct order from his superiors. No matter what the order is, or whether he agrees with it or not, he shall follow it out without too much hesitation. This reliability is valued among his commanders, but do not mistake this for blind obedience. If he senses he is being used somehow, he shall climb the chain of command to see if his orders are legitimate.

His loyalty always has been to the Emperor, and after the Sith rose he tried to restore the Empire by fighting alongside its old allies, the Alliance. After this failed, his loyalties turned to the Imperial Knights and the True Throne. He shall fight the Sith besides them until either he or the Sith are wiped out.

Factions:

The Empire: Leroy views the Empire as the only true hope for Galactic Order, and is prepared to not only die, but kill for it. However, the Empire is currently under the control of the Sith Order and has become known as the "Sith Imperium". The Sith usurped power and murdered the Emperor, and in the following years killed Leroy's father and turned those dear to him against him. Leroy is now fighting to save the Empire from the Sith.

The Sith: Leroy's only enemy, and the one faction he well and truly hates. He views the Sith as cowardly, greedy, selfish fools who do not understand the concept of Order, fighting only for personal reasons and not caring for the Galaxy as a whole, having perverted the Empire into their plaything. Leroy's primary goal at this moment is their destruction.

The Imperial Knights: The Imperial Knights are, in Leroy's opinion, the only hope of restoring the Empire. He follow any order they give, and is prepared to do anything for them. They fight for the Empire, as does he, and there is no faction Leroy respects more than the Imperial Knights.

The Jedi Order: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend", a quote that is not always valid but certainly describes Leroy's sentiments towards the Jedi well. They oppose the Sith, and so Leroy has no qualms fighting besides them. However, they ran when the Alliance most needed them and went into hiding. Leroy views this as cowardly, and while he may respect their power and combat ability, he does not respect their philosophy and the fact they fled rather than fight. He also has a mistrust of Force Users in general due to the Sith, the only exception being the Imperial Knights.

Galactic Alliance/Alliance to Restore the Republic: Leroy treats them with respect, and acknowledges their struggle against the Sith, but views their tactics and strategies as being inefficient and their favored government easily corrupted and unreliable. As with the Jedi, he has no qualms with fighting besides them, but unlike with the Jedi, he respects them as fellow soldiers.

Underworld/Criminals/Pirates: Leroy hates all criminals, viewing them as corrupt and greedy, caring only for credits. Their ideals also conflict with the Order he wishes for the Galaxy. Of course, he may come to respect and even like some criminals or pirates, but his first impression of any would be negative, and he would not trust them.

People:

Merlin Ambrosius: The Imperial Knight Commander, Leroy first met him during his escape from the Battle of Coruscant. Leroy will follow his orders to the death, regardless of the fact he knows little of the man.

Siennaa, Duchess of Arabanth: Leroy's Commanding Officer, and the second in command of the Imperial Knights, he respects her as both a good soldier and tactician, and will obey her commands without hesitation.

BIOGRAPHY: Born to a high grade military family on the planet of Bastion, rich in history, Jonas has a very hard childhood. His father was Captain of an Invictus Star Destroyer, and his mother was head of the regional police. This combined with a very strict upbringing lead to a loveless and friendless life for the young child. It did, however, allow him to become a strong and independent figure, relying mostly on himself for survival.

He entered the Imperial Naval Academy at the age of 18, and passed with flying colors. The year was 1,006 ABY when he did so. He was given a commission as a Lieutenant on a Praetor-Class Corvette, the "Emperor's Scythe", and continued to serve under it until it was decommissioned, and so he was transferred to an Asiadom-Class Frigate, the "White Terror". He served exceptionally well, and was praised by his superiors for his good work and respected by his subordinates for the same reasons, though they admitted they didn't actually "like" him.

Jonas's father, now the highly respected and decorated Admiral Karl Leroy, transferred Jonas to his fleet, promoting him to Captain and given him his first command aboard the "Avenger III", a Reaver-Class Corvette. He was a good Captain, maintaining his ship in a perfect state, and making sure the entire crew did its job perfectly. This was the moment he joined the 202nd Imperial Marines, who were commanded by his father. He became a Captain in the 202nd, and commanded a detachment of marines on each of his commissions.

This was also when he met First Officer Natacha Viel, another Academy graduate. The two naturally spent a lot of time together as they both helped each other run the ship, and eventually they spent time off duty discussing the Imperial military and history. They became very close, but before anything could happen, the Sith intervened.

The Emperor had been killed in the year 1,002, and the Imperial Military had been being purged of any loyalists. Jonas and his father met to discuss the situation, and the Admiral told his son that no matter what, he had to stay loyal to the Empire and the Emperor, and not the Sith usurpers. It was a matter of honor and duty. Jonas agreed, and the Admiral eventually started plotting against the Sith, feigning loyalty to them as he supplied their enemies with vital information. He established a contact in the Alliance, giving sensitive data about the Sith to him. This went on for years, but eventually Karl Leroy was tried for treason and put to death. He had been betrayed by his own right hand man, First Captain Harold, and was killed in 1,009.

Jonas, who had been the commander of Devastator-Class Star Destroyer at the time, came under much scrutiny and was suspended and confined to his quarters, pending an investigation. Outraged, he non the less cooperated with his superiors. A Sith Apprentice was sent to investigate, though he never revealed his name. Officer Viel, who had followed him all these years and who had become his lover, betrayed him. She gave evidence incriminating Jonas and he would of been tried for treason, had he not broken out of custody.

His Lieutenant informed him of the betrayal, as all officers had been informed of the treason, and Jonas quickly made his way to the hanger. Luck was on his side, as the majority of the crew were ignorant of his so called "crime". He entered the hanger, and ordered the overseer to prep a Tie Reaver for him. He entered the coordinates to Alliance space into his hyperdrive computer, but before he could leave the Sith, along with a group of Stormtroopers, entered the Hanger. He Hanger doors were about to shut, but before they did Sergeant Lorn of the 202nd Marines and his soldiers ambushed the Sith and his men. They managed to suppress the Imperials and open the hanger doors, allowing Jonas to escape. They had been ordered to protect Jonas with their lives by Admiral Leroy, and protect him they did.

He was picked up by an Alliance patrol ship, and he explained his story. Eventually, he gave the code name of his Father's contact and he managed to prove he was no spy. He was given a place in the Alliance navy as a Captain of a Heroic-Class Star Destroyer, which he renamed the "Justicar", a subtle hint towards his true goal: Revenge on those who had wronged him, and revenge against the Sith who had killed his Men, his Father and his Emperor.

Battle of Coruscant: Leroy participated in the Battle of Coruscant, joining the Fifth Action Fleet under the command of Admiral Elysar. The Alliance fleet managed to hold out longer than anyone had expected, but eventually the retreat was sounded. The Justicar, however, had had its engines damaged and eventually fell behind, and was torn apart by the enemy. Leroy barely managed to escape with his life.

In the aftermath of the space battle, Leroy found himself planetside with some survivors of his ship: Ensign Lory and Marines Patterson and Jor. Although he did not know it at the time, Leroy was a mere kilometer or two from the infamous retreat of an Alliance force that had ensured the evacuation in that sector of the planet would continue without outside interference. Leroy tried to join up with them to see if he could help, but as he reached them they were already withdrawing under enemy fire. He managed to save a wounded sergeant, who later died from his injuries.

Leroy responded to an emergency call from a group of soldiers, and went out with a small group in search of them. He found them dead, and his group was ambushed. He and his remaining men managed to fight off the ambush, but he eventually found himself alone as whatever was happening to the planet was killing his men off one by one.

He eventually found two Imperial Knights, Marshall Ambrosius and the Duchess of Arabanth, Siennaa. He left the planet alongside them, glad at having finally found like minded people who fought for the Empire.

"The Imperial Knights were a legend, even before the Sith rose up. For a simple man like me to serve them was more than my duty or an honor, it was a privilege."

Fall of the Alliance: The Battle of Coruscant had been a rough ordeal, and even Leroy admitted he was shaken by the experience. His first major battle, and it had been a terrible loss. Not only that, but the Alliance as a whole had, more or less, ceased to exist.

He stayed with some of the remaining Imperial Knights for a time, before departing to serve under Duchess Sienna. He participated in most of the operations she lead, either to help coordinate or in a more hands on approach. He eventually left with her and a contingent of Imperial Knights to aid the Hapes Consortium in their fight against the Empire.

Leroy's role in the fight was mainly as instructor. He taught many of the Hapans how to fight, how to set up a base of operations, how to fortify a position, how to create basic weapons and explosives. He even taught Hapan Officers, high and low ranking, about the tactics employed by the Imperium and how to counter them. Outside of that, he was mainly trusted with coordinating small time operations on small targets, and helped coordinate large operations on key targets. He only ever served in the front lines three times during his time their, and each time the operation had been a complete success.

Eventually the Imperial Knights were called back, and now Leroy awaits new orders as he prepares for the fights to come.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
Some one had blundered:
Theirs not to make reply
Theirs not to reason why
Theirs but to do a die.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

I am wondering how an ex-Imperial immediately got a command of a Star Destroyer. What are we? The Rebel Alliance?

:CStern
Not yet.

:CSly

Anyway,

Welcome to the Party! We'll be celebrating the final moments of the Galactic Alliance Navy by fighting an un-winnable battle and losing ships horrifically...or at least I will be.

Well at the moment, there is no Rebel Faction, and as such the Imperial Knights don't form one of the cells yet. Acceptance will happen once we're post-skip, and actually have a Rebel roster and sign-up thread at hand. You're both getting ahead of yourself, but your enthusiasm deserves a gold star!

Nova, the True Throne is a faction that exists, he can RP with it's members now. Just cause your faction isn't around doesn't mean my older and wiser one can't keep on keeping on :P

Cassanova: I realize they do not have a cell, but I'm accepted for when the time skip begins so I am simply thanking him in advance xD.

Kylaen: *shrugs* I expected to have my request denied but I guess I got lucky. I'm not complaining :P

Oh, wait, does he still have a star destroyer? Because the True Throne doesn't have any of those. You'd need admin approval for that sort of thing.

I plan on losing the Star Destroyer during the Battle of Coruscant (Clash in the Skies). Leroy will fight with the Alliance, use an escape pod to, well, escape, and then hide on Coruscant until things quiet down and he'll either smuggle himself odd world or simply leave normally, depending on how tight security will be (I expect it shall be especially tight).

He'll then wander the Galaxy, settle down under a fake identity and write a few books. He'll hear of the Rebellion and seek them out, then join them.

I was wondering though, how my character will fit in with the Imperial Knights? He's a Naval Officer, and I'm guessing you don't have much of a navy. He has experience and knowledge of boarding actions and fighting on the ground (thanks to his time with the 202nd Marines) so I guess he could do that.

*shrugs* Just point and I'll figure out how to blow it up xD.

Well, you'll be with the True Throne, and the bits and bobs of our military strength will be worked on in the Think tank, so I'll have to wait till I get things definitively set in there before I can really go into detail, but don't worry you'll have a place that suits his specialties.
