[Jedi Mission] Investigating Missing Diplomats

[GABA]

The Jedi Knight sat comfortably in the waiting room with her legs crossed and her hands folded in her lap. The Coruscanti office building wasn't too far from the Senate Hall, it was small, probably expensive to rent out, decorated with tacky odd, expensive sculptures and old and worn furniture. Not to mention it smelled of cigarra smoke. Her eyes were locked on the window across from her, however, her mind wasn't on the busy civilians, but more on rather what was about to occur. Her mind played every possible scenario of everything she had learned and experienced that could possibly happen in the next fifteen minutes; from the very best to the very worst.

Her eyes then came back into focus when a speeder flew awfully close to the window and her focus turned and begun studying the paisley printed wall paper; she shared the room with another, Jedi Knight Joshua Drake. The Council was informed of several high ranking politicians were disappearing with no traces of who or what was happening to them. But the pattern was becoming consistent: those who didn't have their names mention too often and those who didn't have a lot of money.

Knight Tak'n shifted in her seat, they were suppose to meet with the Lobbyist over thirty minutes ago.

"Politicians: yous waiting on them, nevering thems on yous." she whispered.

 

[JMocks]

'Truer words never spoken,' Josh replied in a chuckle. Him and fellow Knight Rehni Tak'n were to investigate a case of missing diplomats. It was like, they were a hot commodity. And everyone wanted one. They could be used for alot of things. Or, alot of bad things. And that's what the Jedi feared. If the Hutts or Bogan were kidnapping diplomats, there could be a serious problem. 'If we have to wait another ten minutes,' he paused, 'we might as well assert ourselves.'

He stood up from the bench, and began to pace himself. Thirty minutes, and they were still waiting. Patience patience. He stopped by one of the windows and stared out into the busy city. He counted how many speeders passed by the window. He was already up to 100. 'What do you suggest we do, Rehni,' he said turning back to his fellow Knight. 'We've waited long enough.'

 

[Dmitri]

"My apologies for the wait," apologized a voice.
Gabriel Djibril, who had the appearance of a blue-haired young man, entered the room. "Please, come with me." Djibril motioned for them to enter a nearby office. Djibril was the first to enter, sitting down behind the desk.
"Now, I heard you're investigating the disappearance of several Senators," said Djibril. "As you know, I and a few others will be seceding from the Republic soon, but that is neither here nor there. When I was contacted by your Jedi Council, I thought that maybe those Senators had seceded as well and had returned home. Alas, that was not the case except for one. Senator Skeith of Umbara. He's currently in the capital of Umbara. He 'disappeared' in the same manner as the others, so you may find a clue with him."

 

[JMocks]

'I think it is unwise that you're seceding from the Republic Mr. Djibril. Very unwise. The Hutts won't be able to protect you. And as much as we know, the Hutts could be behind this. And you could be next on the list. Now. Its also accured to me that you're working with the Hutts. And are leading us into a trap. If this is the case, you will definitely be needing protection. We will investiage this Senator from Umbara,' Josh said shutting his mouth. He had said enough on the situation. He turned to his fellow Knight, 'what do you think Rehni?'

 

[Dmitri]

"The Hutts wouldn't be behind the kidnappings," argued Djibril. "Some of the Senators that went missing were amongst those that had pledged to secede from the Republic. If anything, suspicion would fall on the Republic."

 

[JMocks]

'Hahahaha. Really? You suspect the Republic of kidnapping seceding Senators? Bravo,' Josh started clapping. 'Looks like our job is done here Rehni. Mr. Gerbil solved the crime. Hahahaha. But really? The Republic would never stoop to that low of a level,' Josh finished with a chuckle.

 

[GABA]

Rehni kept a glare on Djibril, starting her own psychoanalysis on the politician as he spoke his story. She opened her mouth to speak after Joshua, but wanted to listen to more to what the politician had to say then she took her moment to speak.

"Blaming ofing the Republic, sounding bias." the knight folded her hands in her lap as she spoke, "Whying Republic you thinking?" she asked Djibril wanting to hear all his thoughts on the topic.

 

[Dmitri]

Djibril burst out laughing. "I forgot, you Jedi are 'peacekeepers'. Of course the Republic would make sure that you don't know of their little 'operations'." He helped himself to a piece of candy. "Now, why have you truely come? It's obvious that you don't trust me, and believe anything I tell you to be a trap, so coming here would most likely be a waste of time. To enlighten you, I once was a Jedi so I know very well all the nice lovely mind tricks and the wards I've placed on my mind are solid."

 

[JMocks]

'Just because we are 'peace keepers', doesn't mean we don't know what's going on within the Republic. And trust me, we're not trying to pry into your brain. Even if you were a Jedi. Which I highly doubt. Anyways. Are you done wasting our time Mr. Djibril? Because we have a case to solve,' Josh said as he folded his arms.

 

[GABA]

"Notting ofing answering my question." she informed him, typically politician, talk in circles, go off topic, avoid any responsibilities. "But suggesting ofing Umbaran we can find and asking him." Rehni replied giving Josh a look telling him it their time to leave, "Willing ofing hear from us later." she stood and gave a small bow of her head.

 

[JMocks]

As the Knights exited, thoughts of the kidnappings raced through Josh's mind. He wanted to know what plan the abductors had. It could be anything really. Having a Senator under their control, their options were limitless. The more they abducted, they more power they would ultimately receive. They needed to solve this case as soon as possible.

'What are you sensing, Rehni?' he questioned as they made their way out of the building.

 

[GABA]

"Sensing notting ofing wastes ofing time." she spoke quietly as they exited through the building, "Avoiding ofing topics, hes knowing mores; trusting we visiting the Umbaran as well ofing finding Djibril's sources." She knew something seemed suspicious, but the Knight wanted to keep all possibilities open, gather all the information they could before making an assumption.

 

[JMocks]

'Its settled then. We'll travel to Umbara, and find out what's really going on. Do you wish to take point on this mission, or do you want to be support. I'm fine with either role, Rehni. But I'll leave the choice up to you. And please, don't make me decided,' he said with a stern face, which slid into a sly grin.

 

[GABA]

"Mines case. Goods yous ising getting beneath skins. Mays need thats later." she told him hopping into the airspeeder when they got to the garage. She waited for Josh to get in before taking off into Coruscant traffic. "Feelings Umbara willing being tough. Worst as dealing with a Hutt." she said.

 

[JMocks]

Josh climbed into the air speeder, 'it will be nothing we can't handle, Rehni,' he said with a smile. 'I understand how you feel though. If things got bad, we'd be the only two against who knows what. I have a feeling we're walking into a trap. But I'm not to sure. We must keep our mind open.'

 

[GABA]

She flew the air speeder to the space ports where they were able to find public transport to Umbara. There were only a handful of beings aboard, all none of ones someone would pick up random conversation without a blaster to the nose. Rehni picked her seat and sat comfortablely as the shuttle took off to their destination. "Having yous being to Umbara?" she asked Josh.

 

[JMocks]

'No,' he replied. 'I've never had no business on Umbara before. What about you? We'll definitely have to keep our eyes pealed thats for sure,' he said as he took a seat on the shuttle. 'I just hope this isn't bigger than we expect,' he said as the shuttle shook then took off.

 

[GABA]

"Never." she simply stated the ship went into hyper-drive, "Handling can us." the young Knight replied. It wasn't as long as a trip as Rehni had predicted. The shuttle came out of hyper-drive into the unfamiliar Ghost Nebula. The transport orbited Umbara before entering the atmosphere and landing in the port city.

It was a constant twilight on the planet itself, even in the middle of the day, the buildings gave an error glow, Rehni had suspected any colors were in the ultraviolet light range. After a minute of receiving suspicious looks, Rehni tapped into the Force, turned heads went back to their business. "Friendly, comforting." she nodded with sarcasm.

((I couldn't find any names of cities and the whatnot. :/ ))

 

[Dmitri]

"Jedi Rain, Jedi Break, yes, yes?" said a voice.
An Umbaran had been walking up to them. He wore a typical suit normally worn by government lackeys. "M'name is Lumis, yes, yes. Very pleased to me you, yes, yes?"
Lumis stuck out his hand to be shaken.

 

[GABA]

"Guh, yes, Jedi Rehni, ams I." she took his hand to shake it, "And Jedi Drake ising he." she reintroduced themselves with the correct pronunciation of their names, "Yes, pleases are us. Who sends ofing retrieves us?" asked the Knight.
