Why was it decided to use the class system from the Star Wars RPG? It just seems really limiting seeing as it was based around a game.

Gives Jedi a specilization of sort. They are still Jedi through and through, just some focus on one thing more then another and such.

Ya but can't Guardians just pull the "I'm better at lightsaber combat then a consular"? I know writing skill has most to do with how the fight goes but it would definitely be a deal breaker in an even fight.

It's really only as limiting as you make it. Guardians can still be proficient in the Force, and vice versa. It just depends on how you train and such.

In fact that's even true in canon as some Jedi, despite being guardians, are blummin excellent with the Force. Plus specialization is a good way of making sure people have a weakness somewhere at least unless they are ni-man whores. Bugger, see what I did there?

I'm not a fan of specializations either. However, it shouldn't get in the way of your role playing skills; if you're great at role playing lightsaber combat, play a character thats great at lightsaber combat, etc.

AFAIK the specializations were originally only implemented as providing duties for the four Council masters. If you don't want your character to specialize, then don't train them as such.

Like Obi-Wan. Talented in the Force, shrewd diplomat, and able to slice up Darth Vader, who was actually more powerful with limbs. But what's wrong with Niman? It has weaknesses.

Don't be the bugger to be good in everything.

You say "bugger" in every single post you make, and at this point I subconsciously skip over everything you say because I can't take it seriously.

EDIT: inb4 bugger.

I thought it was one of those balanced forms. Like legendary strike in the game Jade Empire. I'm gonna go play that now.

A very petty point for a very petty post.

No, not really. He had a point.

It had nothing to do with the topic, and I'm pretty sure it was just to hurt my feelings. "Good thing my feelings regenerate at twice the rate of a normal man's." Is that how he said it? Anyway, I said he had a point; a petty one.

I meant to say he had a good point.

You haven't said bugger yet so it seems you got something good out of it, as blunt as Vanity might of been.

Anyway, yeah, we're getting off topic now.

Whats up with all these random pictures that add nothing to conversations? They have been springing up a lot lately.

Don't be the bugger to be good in everything.

It isn't necessary to attach a weakness to a character at all. Granted, if you feel it would make role playing them more interesting, have at it. Personally, I don't need to add weaknesses to my characters. I'm not afraid to put them into danger, nor allow them to fail.

Additionally, I'm not sure what the connotation is behind "bugger" where you are from, but if it's what I think it is I've got some unfriendly American words for you as well. :CStern
