Fox Hunting. Forever a sport amoung farmers & lovers of the sport. But some think it is beyond all forms of humanity. Well, what are your views? Right, or wrong? Personally I deem it right, as a farmer. The fox is a pest, in need of being controlled. Do you agree?

If they were not hunted they would reproduce out of control, destroying crops and farm animals. Fox hunting is not inhumane, so long as you're not an asshole about it.

I'm of the firm belief that you shouldn't hunt at all unless you plan on using the pelt, meat, etc of the animal. To just kill for the sport of killing is wrong in my opinion. However, I also am against killing just for their furs, tails, pelts, etc without some awareness of population of these creatures. Some animals are coming close to becoming extinct because of industries that kill just to take the furs, ivory, and make a big profit. There needs to be control over these industries so that greed doesn't take over common sense. Afterall, we're all stewards of this earth and should treat it well. The earth takes care of us and we should take care of it and all the creatures therein.

I love hunting, as a sport and as as my friend Charlie and Bac said, to reduce the population so they dont sestroy property, crops, and who knows what else. Besides, when you kill the pests, you can still put its remains to use.

There is always an alternative to killing animals.

When you encounter a fox, on horse back, 70% of the time, you won't catch the fox often due to speed, and how you approach it. not even the hounds can catch them.

I don't agree with hunting to take furs - I'm against it. I am for blasting the hell out of a fox or any other animal that comes under 'pest' if I have the chance however. Foxes kill a huge amount of chickens each year. Lambs as well.

I think it is right to hunt them.

(i am against hunting of protected animals)

Anything that's legal to shoot, I'll shoot it. Except squirrels and birds.

I personally think that killing anything with a gun is wrong. But that's not exactly the point here, so I'll just skip over that section. On page one Bac said that If we didn't kiil foxes they would reproduce out of control. Do you know how many humans there are on this planet? 6,580,799,310 ( http://www.census.gov/main/www/popclock.html )!!! Six billion, five hundred eighty million, seven hundred ninety nine thousand three hundred ten humans are destroying Earth as we speak. And many of them are making even more babies! It would make more sense to ship the foxes back to their natural habitat (Most of the foxes in America and Canada were brought by England) and go out hunting humans. If you're living in Europe, well, you can deal with your own problems. I only try to end the local problems. (Local being North America). So have fun with your tiny little fox problem.

Sorry I was in a rush.

I don't know, I just think it's wrong because it's just for the fun. Why would you kill something just for fun. Maybe if they were gonna sell the skin for cash money or eat the fox meat, but there's no point to killing them.

Really? Then what would you suggest we do about the Possum problem in NZ? These more of them than humans! They eat our native trees, kill our native bird and are one of the biggest pest in the entire country! You can't capture them because A) its too dangerous as they carry diseases and scatch you B) there are just too many of the fu<kers! And its not as if they will become exstinct, they were an introduced species and are bloddy well protected just across the ditch in Aussie! What would you suggest we do there? Just stop shooting them and ask them nicely to leave!?!

Did I say I knew the alternative? No I did, not that is for people far more intelligent then me to try and figure out.

But to kill a creature simply because it is an inconviniance (sp) is wrong imo

But this topic has nothing to so with possum's or new zealand, it is focused on foxes, a specific creature not hunting in general.
