They had it coming. If they didn't want to be genocide'd, they would have worn such armor.

I agree with pretty much all of the points you listed, but on second thought it seems there are already enough splinter factions within the Imperium (at least right now). Maybe if the Coterie becomes less active or dissolves then we could see if any other IAF members would be interested in launching a group like this.

Within the Imperium? Like who, the Coterie? Because that's the only one I'm aware of Alex and doesn't tell a story that my characters could engage in, guilds or "Indie factions" and their story should be shaped by their characters involved, not the other way around, that's awful storytelling.

I don't say this to be rude, but it seems like you just want to lead something, rather than join any of the existing factions that are fundamentally the same as what you're trying to start.

Your assertion couldn't be more wrong or untenable, the sheer volume of individuals who support that post speaks disturbingly about the community's perceptions of storytelling. This isn't a novel or play where characters are dancing to the script devised by a writer or team of writers, an assertion that Dima tried to dispel in a topic elsewhere IIRC, and not done justice by what has been communicated here. For example, all of -MY- characters are IAF, and -NONE- of those characters would leave the IAF to join the Rebels and none of them are of influential position to warrant involvement with the Coterie or would even want to get involved with something like that all things considered.

They aren't about to just up and join a Rebellion that's far from home and willing to tear everything they know down, what you're trying to suggest to me is "Tough nuts, get up, make a new character if you want to participate in story like this" To which my response is going to be "Uh, how bout' you tell a story appropriate for your characters, and I tell one appropriate for mine?" And if enough people have or want new characters that could get involved in this and we call it a "Faction" That's their right.

This started as an interest check, and the faction's initial concept has steadily been shaped by discussion and not its detractors for a reason, They have had nothing to contribute beyond "You're basically describing x faction, why don't you just join it!" Because this isn't about me, it's about character-driven story.

@Interfector the Imperial Knights are technically Imperial, since they want a new Emperor. But I see your point.

In any case, we would need a minimum of three people to create a faction.

If I was the Imperial Knights leader, I would (IC-ly) have set up an Imperial government-in-exile in Rebel territory with an heir to the Fel dynasty. And this government could set up a military force independent of the Rebels, which (OOC-ly) would give non-Force sensitive Imperial defectors a way to still affiliate with the Empire rather than the Rebellion itself.

You could all come and play with The Order of Revan. We support an empire and look to work from within. We don't like angry sith either.
