Hi all

Thus us a very early water testing post about anyone that would want to join the death watch. Now like I said it is in very very early stages of planning and I'd appreciate any input and of course need two other people to make it happen.

Basically what I've been thinking so far that it is a special forces group highly trained, that do mercy jobs once in a while but their main goal is to attack the sith.

Now like I said very early planning so any questions please ask, and be aware that if you did decide to join there's a good chance your character would get killed by the imperials I'm assuming mine will lol.

any advice welcome

have a great day/night
:)

I am in although I would'nt put the Death Watch any close to Mandalore and you could state that they moved to another planet because the Mandalorians sadly are on the run.You could say that they went out of the Mandalorian system early as 600ABY to another planet so your NPC numbers could possibly be better.

What would death watch wish to accomplish? Mangos are low in number around 6000 I think and are fragmented.

There would be no group more hated. Hated by Mandalorians. Hated by the Sith. That's a lot of hate.

Frankly, and I will be purposefully blunt here and perhaps even rude, but trust me, this needs saying.

Don't. Just don't. Its hardly original, and you'd be better off joining a clan first and learning more about how mandos on the site work. Then you can come back to it. But, frankly, I'd hope you burn this idea from your mind. Also, does the site really need more mando factions? I'm a huge mando fan, and I certainly don't think so.

Yep, you're definitely being rude, Srota. Considering the Lorell Raiders were already in existence in the SW universe, then by that logic I'd say your faction is hardly original either. I don't necessarily think the Death Watch, as a faction in this timeline, would be able to do a lot in the galaxy, but that's just me. Maybe there could be benefits to it, or maybe there aren't. I don't know, but there's no need to be rude about it.

What Latte stated and their is nothing wrong with him bringing the Death Watch into fruiton and I think the Death Watch can do a lot in the galaxy. I mean come on, their the Death Watch not to mention the fact that it is 1000+years after their creation therefore putting in a lot of room for development and who said that the Death Watch have to be Mandalorian, their is a lot of rp develo[ement for a 1000+ year old faction. For example, they could have moved to another planet and migrated their therefore leaving therefore evading the Mandalorian extinction and allowing their faction NPC number to be 500NPC.

Apologies, I have been unclear in what I meant by originality, I meant that this seems like basically every other mando faction right now, its just a bunch of mandos attacking the sith under a different name, what I'd like to see from them, and what would make them much more interesting is the fact that they need to hate what the current attitude of mandalorians is like, the death watch were radical mandalorian terrorists who sought to return to the old ways of the crusaders and acting more as raiders rather than commandos for hire.

I quote:

The Death Watch—or Kyr'tsad in Mando'a—was a Mandalorian splinter group founded by Tor Vizsla, who opposed Jaster Mereel's Supercommando Codex. Their primary goal was to return the Mandalorians to their ancient roots as warriors, and advocated the savage raider mentality of the past.

Much more interesting, and much more unique.

You're all more than welcome to join Haar Echoy'la! :D

We'd like to explore every type of Mandalorian, from Death Watch to Pacifist. Really explore every facet of Mandalorian culture and society.

I'm going to echo the sentiment that there's too many Mandalorian indies as it is, I'd like to see some of these new players starting to take part in what's already established on the site.

Also, secondly and foremost, a bunch of people marauding around as a former Mandalorian group is likely going to draw the ire of any patriotic Mandalorian still out there, and very likely going to result in you getting armor stomped by the real Mandos. Mine would certainly find it offensive and put an end to it. Last thing any sane Mando Indie needs is another group masquerading around as a group formerly known to be Mandalorian and attacking the Sith and agitating an already delicate situation in the IC storyline.

Nah it's ok everyone I don't mind blunt comments. Like I said it's all very early thinking.

I'm going to have to chuck it somewhere out of mandalore space anyway because Concordia is currently got a prescence on it from another Clan. I'm thinking the outer rim.

So what Death Watch would want to achieve now unfortunly since funding is a issue the money side of this may have something to add. But what I am thinking is that it is a group of highly trained soldiers trained in numerous conditions so basically a special forces team.
Now the only reason I mentioned doing merc jobs in the first place is a good way to get money coming in. Overall I see them starting of being a miltary force trained under mando traditions to be the best, that later on down the track could end up turning into a new mando civilisation lead by the old ways.

I'm sure there are a lot more ways to improve it which I'll find when it's not 5am haha and when I'm not on my phone :)

Haha thanks guys I've read all your indies and I'm a fan this is just something I'd like to start but if it doesn't get going my mando has to join with his people sometime

Also my character is a mando so it's not really faking it it would be frowned upon since it's unorthodox but it could also be a new thing. And on terms of being crushed I understand it could happen.

basically, if you do plan on doing this, I think it should be done in adherence with the original Death watch. Yes, you would get a lot of hatred, but anything else would be pretty much bog standard, and it would be interesting having the Death Watch around.

Concordia, Mandalore, Concord Dawn, Jakelia, etc etc. All the worlds in the Mandalore Sector were BDZ'd by the Sith Imperium a few months ago. They're gone, glass'd.

I believe your info is a bit outdated, mate. As Huntress said, all mandalorian presence in the Mandalore Sector was utterly annihilated by the sith. The mandalorians are now a bunch of fugitives, hiding from the sith and on the verge of dying out. In a way, now is the perfect time for a group like the canon Death Watch to return, as such movements often seem to thrive at times of great upheaval in a culture, however, this is such a group that should be at its very nature secretive, at least initially, starting from members already in a clan, who grow disillusioned with the current ways and seek a reformation of the mandalorian people, a rebirth through blood and fire, as Kad Ha`rangir would want.

See I had heard about those planets getting hit but I kept on missing the link can someone just tell me where to look so I don't screw up again.

Anyway what my next step is to take all thus advice (thank you btw) have a good look at it and see what myself and anyone else that wants to be a apart of if can think off and then actually make a proper page to garner intrest again.

But I really do appreciate a your ideas and so forth and even if it doesn't work out it's good to know there's a few clans still our there
:)

Any more advice just chuck it my way

Feel free to ask any of us indie leaders for any advice, and once again, I apologize for the rudeness in my initial post.
