I see a story to this site, now how do I get involved?

I am new to this guild, so pardon my nativity. I have been looking through this guild a lot in the past week, but excuse me if this is offensive, it seems random. There are a rediculous amount of acolytes and not enough people to train to change that. The main thing I can't figure out os the role play. It seems a lot along the lines as you do a mission or train RP, but I can't seem to find what the goal is. Like what are we training for and do the missions mean anything? Is there a main RP at all or does the main RP come and go like event style? The people here seem great and I really like it here, I just want to know what direction I should be heading. My sith has been approved, but I can't even figure out how to get him to join the sith RP wise. I want to make a smuggler character one day, but if there is no path then how do I have my characters grow? I hope my question makes sense as no one sees me as trying to put down the site, just trying to do my best to be involved.

Hey sorry no one answered this sooner but ill do my best

Basically this site does have an overarching story

The Sith and Empire are attempting to take over the Galaxy

The Rebels are trying to stop it

The Hutts want to control all the credits and power they can

The Jedi are attempting to continue their order and prevent extinction

These are very basic ideas and ideals, but how you fit in it is up to you

You have a sith, continue to look through the boards, look for classes, for dueling opportunities. Grow strong. Soon enough Jedi and Sith will fight and you could become a tremendous asset to the Sith in that regard.

Now if you wanted a smuggler, the rebels are in need of those. They need to get military equipment and you could help. Or you could join the hutts and do the same work but much more criminal. Finally you might work for both and be an independent contractor

In the end on this site its all about reaching out with ideas and helping others with theirs.

I hope this helped man!

Happy writing

I posted in your open thread, you can post again in there and Kaata will take your acolyte to the Sith.

After that you can sign your acolyte up for training, missions, and duels. Every once and a while you will see
sign-ups for battles, this is a way to participate in the more important stories.

Eventually your acolyte will rank up, and his story will continue.

Feel free to create any plot you can think of, keeping in mind the rules of the site

There is a story in all the mess. Hard to see but it is there. For example the madlrians where betraid by the empire. Now they have scatterd.

Even smaller the Huttes moved against one of there own. Much how a mob deals out internal justice. Even smaller is how the jedi grandmaster is dealling with being pregnant. Smaler still is a civil war between a race of cat people.

All so there is your own charaters personal story.

Yeah, there really isn't a curve at all as far as rank population goes. Masters are in high demand, which should be extra incentive for an Acolyte to try and catch the eye of a master. But, the Faction Leader in all his wisdom and glory understands this, and one of the requirements for a Crusader to reach Master is to train acolytes. So there will be no shortage of classes, just the traditional Master/Apprentice role won't be as common.

The main thing I can't figure out os the role play. It seems a lot along the lines as you do a mission or train RP, but I can't seem to find what the goal is. Like what are we training for and do the missions mean anything?

As I mentioned briefly above, missions and training are requirements for promotion. They also give opportunity for character growth, for your Acolyte to meet new acquaintances/rivals, and for character story development. Advancing your acolytes skill in a force power is a gray area at best, since many people have their own way of doing it. Look at 5 different profiles, and you'll see some examples. Mine, which I stole from Appollyon, is my current favorite, since it doesn't reduce force combat to a numbers game.

Is there a main RP at all or does the main RP come and go like event style? The people here seem great and I really like it here, I just want to know what direction I should be heading. My sith has been approved, but I can't even figure out how to get him to join the sith RP wise. There is absolutely a main story arc. Like people mentioned before, the Sith are the bad guys trying to take over the galaxy, the Jedi are in hiding/fleeing Battlestar Galactica style, and the rebellion is doing their thing as well. Hutts are trying to make a "we control the money" empire, with an added bonus of massive organized crime.

The Main Thread stories which advance the story arc come in event style things, so everyone has a break from the big, involved threads. That way, the participants have time in between to react to the outcome of those threads and plan their next moves.

Finally, individual RPs are really common. They're absolutely wonderful for fleshing out your own PC, telling a story you think would be fun, and interacting with others in your Faction (or even outside of it), outside of a training/duel/main thread setting.

Thanks for posting everyone. It's hard to know how to get involved as a newcomer. I feel like I have training wheels on :)

It's mostly been covered but I feel like throwing in my 2 cents.

Most of the RP'ed you do on the site will be about your character and their story and life, however as you progress you will have opportunities to affect the main story. That's it in a nut shell.
