I have a few old roleplays from when I roleplayed on Gaia. That place is mostly dead but the threads are still there. We could work something out, I'm sure.
I think I have a fantasy novel I wrote with my wife 5 years ago stashed somewhere. I'd like to partake in this, and I can share the contents of my novel with you. Hopefully it can help with the setting and (my favourite part) the world building.
I'm completely cool with that. Gnomes, yes, they can exist. I welcome any race for this genre. Hell, I plan on having a Dark Elf for my character. If you want a wolf man or something go for it. Captain France, you're more than welcome to build a world for us. Everyone's ideas will be put into consideration. I'll write the baseline story. I'm thinking the story will have something to do with impending wars on several fronts. Say, Dark Elves vs. Humans, humans being the invading force, Orcs vs. Elves, the Orcs being the invading force and Dwarves vs. the Yheteh (see my avatar picture)
Ill see if I can draw a map you guys like. It would be cool to feature mythogical beasts such as the Leviathan, Rahab, or the Ahuizotl just to spice things up a bit.
Mythological stuff sounds cool. Perhaps we can add in something like the Graeae (three old witches in greek myth who shared an eye and a tooth amongst themselves) or Baba Yaga. Like someone we have to see to set us in the right direction with their arcane knowledge.
I my novel, humankind was organized in an empire, and they were battling on one front with the orcs and in another one with the Republic, who challenged their imperealistic poltical views. The Svelk are a creation of mine. They are a subspecies of the elves who are taller, tougher and stronger than the other elven castes. They comprised much of the Great Elven Army, until they were cast away after one Svelk named Fraú The Allegiant attempted to overthrow the Elven government and install the Svelk as the maximal Elven race. They can see in infrared, and they can see normally even with the most minimal amount of light. They are of a very dark, black skin, promptong others to call them "Black Elves". They develop fangs and their muscular tissue is roughly twice as thick than that of a normal humanoid. They have increased hearing and have small healing capabilities. They believe themselves to be the purest elven race, and consider themselves the epitome of evolution. In reality, they were the result of elven genetical engineering in an attempt to create the ultimate soldiers. As of now, the Svelk are a nomadic society, often selling themsleves as mercenaries.
I don't think the wars should be something our characters will be involved in, otherwise we might have characters who can't interact with anyone due to the side they're on. :P Meddlesome interlopers are always a welcome in more fantasy style stories.
BTW why are the orcs going to war with the humans in your novel?
In my novel, the orcs are divided into several City States scattered all across the land. The biggest of this states is Felkan, home to the Felkan orcs. They are the most advanced orc population in terms of technology, and they utilize an element called "Magdezium" as an energy source for their machines, sort of like coal. In the lands of the empire lies one of the biggest deposits of this element, however when the Felkan orcs asked the Empire for mining rights on this deposit, they were violently denied. Furious, the orcs approached the newly formed Republic and planned for years a coordinated attack, settling that shall they win, the Empire's territory would be split between the two attackers and that mining rights would be given to the Felkan orcs in every magdezium deposit. Thats why they are at war in the novel.
