Hive Manufacturing
(A Branch of Komad Industries)
Hive Manufacturing is a company that builds the venerable droids, ships, and vehicles from the Clone Wars. The company is run by the CEO. While he is in charge, he listens to each of the Heads of the various departments of The Hive. Though the company has been around since 986 ABY, it is still small and typically can only make small orders. Each head is in charge of a certain part of the company and advises the CEO. The HQ of the company has been towed to various locations out of security. The military force of The Hive is mainly in the form of droids. The company was started to develop better droids from the Clone Wars and to expand their holdings. Much like the CIS, they wished for political, and economical, freedom.
History:
Founded by Qurag the Venerable in 986 ABY, The Hive was established in an ancient Lucrehulk-class battleship from the Clone Wars. The ship was found over the planet of Hypori. The ship's engines and weapon systems were damaged and needed to be replaced. Qurag, having a dream of running the largest droid company, had his workers and droids get the ship refitted as a factory. Though the ship was damaged, there was still power within the ship. Inside the ship was also some fighters, bombers, transports, and droids left over from the wars. Qurag ran the company for many years until a day came when he was mysteriously killed.
The Pantoran arms dealer, Kal Rendel, became the leader of the company but had to replace the workers with droids and bring in sixty Pantoran Guards. He hired Pantoran, Tiro Chuya, as captain of the guards. Whiole being the leader, he hired ships to move the Lucrehulk to the Zhar system. He also used some of his investors money to purchase two Crusader-class gunships. Naming the ships The Trickster and The Loyalty, they protected the Lucrehulk-class battleship, named The Guardian. Kal also established a small outpost on Kile, a moon of Zhar.
During a meeting with investors and members, the Nemoidian Director left in anger after learning that one of the investors was the leader of the Tion Coalition. The Nemoidian quit as director, so the general of The Hive became acting director. A couple of days after the Nemoidian left, Kal received a message from a Sith Master wanting to meet him. Kal left on The Loyalty, having told Tiro that if he doesn't contact them within six hours from a prearranged time, that he is to be deemed dead.
So Kal meet the Sith Master but was killed by her and The Loyalty was destroyed, unknown to The Hive. After the six hour mark, Tiro took charge and ordered an evacuation. Ordering every ship back to The Guardian, Tiro had every communication and other system code changed. He hired some ships to tow the battleship out of Zhar and to the Zephyr Asteroid Field. When Tiro took charge, twenty-five percent of The Guardian had been refitted to serve as a factory.
Technology:
Using many droids and ships found in the Lucrehulk-class battleship, the build some droids and purchase or take what they don't make. Within the battleship was many schematics of various droids used during the Clone Wars. Some of the investors had provided schematics of new ships, droids, and vehicles to be built by The Hive[/b. Some of them include: the GX-B1 battle droid, the Sabertooth-class starfighter, and the upgraded STAP. They had also purchased two Crusader-class gunships but lost one from unknown reasons. They will occassionally exchange droids for products they need.
Headquarters-The hq of Hive Manufacturing is also their flagship. The Lucrehulk-class battleship, The Guardian, is the pride of The Hive. It sits on the outskirts of the Zephyr Asteroid Field.
