Check the story board. That will give you an idea of what we do.

But to give a plain answer:

After making a character, and signing up to a faction if jedi, rebel, sith, or cartel agent, you find a thread and join it.

Open threads are open to all
Ask threads require you to ask permission from the thread creator
Main threads are threads reserved to faction involvement, they hold sign-ups when they are about to do one.

After joining a thread you act out your character. You describe what the character does, says, and thinks.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Join a faction and they will notify you via Interest Check thread I think. Those are few and far between though.

Main threads don't pop up very often... As Kinetic said, you will know when there is such an opportunity. Don't at all focus on main threads unless the consequences of such a thread affect your character - which they may not. If you feel you might want to start our own little story line, just create a new thread and start from scratch. The only limit is your imagination.

Yep! I don't think there's any limit to the number of RPs you can be in, as long as you keep track of them and are careful to keep up, but you need to still consider them all as being linear through time.
