Right. The title pretty much explains it all.

But here's the gist of it anyway: I'm (re)making a Mandalorian character I've used a few times in the past, and converting her (just slightly) to fit with the timeline of this site.

But from what I understand, the Mandalorians have lost Manda'yaim and most of their traditional space, and has been engulfed in a bloody civil war, which now looks to be coming to an end. Anyone wanna fill me in, so I know how to work this into my (rather traditionalistic) Mando'ade's background, and help me avoid a couple of major blunders?

And I'm sorry if this should be in a different board. If it is, Admins, feel free to move or remove it.

The vibes I'm getting are that the Mandos are screwed. Badly.

The sith drove us from our homes, we have after that been hiding in the unknown regions close to GA space. A while back the the mandalorians split into two factions, the loyalists and the separatists and the second mandalorian civil war broke out. After a few minor battles and skrimishes Corden started the thread where he wanted to unite the mandalorians again under one banner, the thread got flung into chaos due to a persons character opening fire upon the platform where Lucius and Corden where standing. After making it so that the fighting stopped, Corden and Lucius would duel (which they are doing now) and the winner will become the mandalore.

Right, thanks.

What triggered the civil war? What did they fight over, if you don't mind me asking? Since aside from the Death Watch, the Mandalorians ain't really prone to killing one another (unless they're on opposite contracts).

Bad leadership, or should i say weak leadership. But there were those that believed that the current leadership of the mando was sort of corrupted i believe, and wanted to go back to the old ways. Those formed the foundation of the MSM, and then after a while the decided it was time to break loose, a few months after being driven from our homes, it became the finaly drip i guess.

If you want to read up a little on what the Mandalorian Separatists are all about, check on this thread. To make a long story short, three Mandalores have risen and fallen within one IC year. The first tried to change the Mandalorians drastically from what they had been in the past, ordered a retreat from the Mandalore Sector, and was challenged several times because of decisions he made. He refused to fight the challengers for a long time. He finally accepted a challenge shortly after the evacuation of Manda'yaim, but when the duel took a turn for the worse and the odds were no longer in his favor, he gave up and called his opponent off. The second Mandalore promised change, but brought on very little. Many believed he wasn't aggressive enough and that he lacked vision. He was challenged and defeated in combat, which gave way to the third Mandalore, a female. The supporters of this new Mandalore would later be known as Loyalists. By that time, the schism that has now divided the Mandalorians into two distinct factions was already in motion. Many people were fed up with the vicious cycle of failed leadership and they had little faith that the new Mandalore would be any different. They saw only corruption and weakness within the Mandalorian Clans. They despised what the Mandalorians as a people had become... And so nearly one billion Mandalorians left in droves to form the Separatist Movement and soon after, they declared their own Mandalore. The Second Mandalorian Civil War has raged ever since, though the conflict has seen more skirmishes here and there than large scale battles. The first major battle was on an ice planet called Fenris, where the Separatists, or Seps as we often call them, assaulted a Loyalist fortress. During the battle, the Loyalist base commander killed herself and everyone else in the fortress with a self-destruct mechanism, dooming the remaining Loyalist forces on the planet. Only a few Loyalists escaped alive.

I think Corden left out the honorary mention of how awesome the Loyalist did against way crappy odds on the Fenris Ice Field! :3 But still, a very nice summary.

Hehe, alright. Thanks for all the info, everyone, especially you, Vencu. Right now, the Seperatists seem more tempting than the Loyalists as far as my up-coming character is concerned, but I might hold off on making her until this whole Civil War blows over.

Delusional Loyalists ITT

Anyway, I think Mr. Vencu summed it up nicely. If you need anything else or even want to RP with your Mando feel free to shoot me a PM, I have three Seperatists.

Not to start another argument, but...

The Loyalist did better than anyone thought they would. Look at it ICly. A surprise attack against the Loyalist with way better numbers. The Loyalist killed a lot of Seps, more then they were thought to be able to achieve. Your ignorance of the situation saddens me. ICly and OOCly it seems you are unfit for leadership.

EDIT: On second thought, you can continue to be petty, but I'm not starting this childish bull again.

You know, Nalla, tooting the Loyalist horn is one thing, but attacking Mars personally is completely uncalled for. That, in turn, makes you look like the immature one. You can argue points without making it personal.
