Things were only just now starting to settle down since the drama of Clove going into labor and him having a daughter. The little girl was perfect, and Altair adored her to bits. A few months had passed before the tiefling finally came up for air juggling sleepless nights and helping with the baby as much as a father could. He had run into his family quite a few times during that time, though his little sister reminded him about Kasim and his absence.
It was always easier to let his young brother stew in his own rage than to talk to him. These days Altair had little patience for angsty, teen moodiness. However, family meant you were there for someone when they were going through hell. After simmering on it longer, Altair moved past his own irritation and sought Kasim out at last. What kind of older brother was he if he couldn't be the bigger person?
The younger tiefling was elusive and difficult to find, choosing to wander in the outskirts of the palace grounds and in the main towns. Altair finally managed to sneak away and find an old, abandoned dojo where Kasim was rumored to sometimes practice.
After a bit of wandering, Altair finally spotted him, standing at the doorway with his arms crossed, “Hey,” He said quietly. It was the first time he addressed him one on one in a very long time, and a pang of guilt shot through his chest.
