I'm not claiming to know much about american politics, but I think it's a good thing that someone finally has the balls to speak out against bush, and blair in this way.

In my opinion, both are idiots. They might have managed to do some good in some places, well bush might have, but blair has pretty much buggered most of the important things in britain up.

And as far as i know, new orleans is pretty much still in ruins right? So congrats to bush an' all!

So yeah, good for carter, because, as far as I'm concerned, both leaders are prats, whom the world would be better off without.

And it doesn't really matter whether carter was or wasn't excellent as a president, he's (in my opinion anyway) simply telling it like it is.

Apparantly Carter just cut his balls off -

"My remarks were maybe careless or misinterpreted but I wasn't comparing the overall administration and certainly not talking about anyone personally," Carter said in an interview Monday when asked to explain.

The comments "were interpreted as comparing this whole administration to all other administrations when what I was actually doing was responding to a question about foreign policy between [President Richard] Nixon and this administration, and I think that this administration's foreign policy compared to Nixon's was much worse. ... I wasn't comparing this administration with other administrations throughout history but just with President Nixon's," he told NBC's "The Today Show."

And, as Matt hinted to, Carter's administration was actually one of the worst ever. 444 day hostage crisis that saw the greatest rise of radical Islam in the 20th Century combined with massive inflation does not make a good presidency. He's a nice guy and all, but he didn't really know what he was doing.

Hes hated here in America[/b]

There's a difference between "hate" and "disapprove". Very few people in the United States literally "hate" George W. Bush.

I guess that depends on what you mean by "hate", such as I "hate" Bush's foreign policies, his education plan, etc. etc. But as a person I just don't like him.

Anyways, Carter is a joke, it's a wonder that anyone even listens to him at this point. If you ask me he's starting to go senile if he isn't already.

How many Americans do you know as opposed to "know". By "know" I mean casual aquaintances. Also, HOW do you know them? That could explain a lot too.

In all seriousness, if you were to take a poll where people truthfully said whether or not they truly hated George W. Bush then the results would probably suprise you: they would hate or severely dislike his policies, but they would without a shadow of a doubt not hate him.

Bac's got a good point. Bush as a guy is pretty cool, if a bit stupid. But it's his policies and who he trusts that sucks ass.

Indeed. He's the type of guy you'd want to go to a barbeque with.

Well unless you know all 290 million americans, neither does yours.

I would say I know roughly 15 American citizens and....8 of them actually hate bush.

I know many more Americans than you do and I know their opinions. When you know how dozens and dozens of people think, you can apply those opinions into "results". How do you think polls operate. Do you think they actually poll 300 million people?

They do for the census, elections and whatnot. Which is the only accurate representation of opinion.

Anything else is merely an assumption, and while a smaller group to start with is less accurate when extrapolated, unless a census of everyone, everywhere is taken, most results are, at best, a good guess.

Ta-da!

I wasn't talking about a census, and even then it's not like they go around and ask for presidential approval rating information.

They can, however, poll 300 people and see the results from that poll and make a fairly good guess. Then there's also the internet.
