The training chamber itself is the most elaborate you have seen on the Light of The Force thus far, surrounded by the statues of masters long passed, you begin to sense the gravity and importance of the training to come. The scorch marks on the walls signal to the more aware that knowledge does not come without a certain degree of danger. Each one of your steps echoes in the hall as you walk to great your fellow classmates and wait for those who have not yet arrived.

((Feel free to rp out your entrance and meeting of the other students, once we have everyone we will begin.))

"Absolutely stunning," Lutomi remarks as she enters the chamber and bows to the room itself. She has never stepped foot on this vessel before today. Master Novan recommended she train while he goes on leave for one of his many Missions. While she would love to tend to it, sometimes she just must accept his rejection. He is always so protective. She thinks one day she will just have to insist! But as for the class planned, at least it is a remarkable one!

Lutomi makes her way to one of the enormous statues of a Master passed, and tilts her head back to view it. She wonders about the history of the man who had come long before her now. Having been born and raised as a Sith, she knew that with the Jedi, is where even the Sith had begun.

She raises a hand to the stone, feeling out a deep gouge which she presumes could only have been created by a plasma beam. Lutomi closes her eyes and takes in the sensation for the nostalgia.

Techaro's footsteps echoed as he entered the large training ground. The young padawan had explored many parts of the Light of the Force, but none created more awe than the room before him: The mammoth marble monuments that encircled the training center were breath taking. Giving a quick bow to the monuments of great Jedi masters, Techaro's eyes began to explore the room.

The first thing he noticed were the scorch marks on the wall. That seemed to snap the Jawa out of the trance that the statues gave him. Doubts about whether this training was actually a good idea began to creep into his mind.

No, he thought, I must do this. Techaro shrugged off the thought, pulled his hat tighter onto his small head, and walked towards the center of the room. Moving in a slow circle, he realized that he was not alone. A human woman was also in the chamber, feeling a different set of plasma marks on the wall. The woman looked a couple years older than Techaro, but no matter, he would introduce himself. As he approached the woman, he straightened himself and put on a smile. She was much taller than him, but then again, most people were.

He noticed that her eyes were closed so, not wanting to interrupt her meditation, Techaro stood in silence.

Adonia had begun to enjoy her time on The Light Of The Force, though she was not a fan of technology by and means, she was able to get get back to her one love, and that was teaching those what would seek to listen. From sunrise to sundown if she was not training someone she was meditating and working to better her own self, to keep control of her emotions in the midst of such the reckless pain the empire and others were spreading across the galaxy, it took a strong will to feel the pain that echoed through the force, and it took an even stronger will to try and drown it out, for Adonia the only way was to keep her mind of the teaching of others. At the moment Adonia was teaching a rather large group of padawans the basic movements, standing at the head of the class she went from movement to movement, and waited as the room followed her lead. out of the corner of her eye she spied one of the younglings stumble over his own feet during one of the transition moves. "Mind your feet ayaru, the second from relies heavily on good footwork, it forms the base for more elegant movements with become your defense, here move with me."Adonia showed the young girl the proper way to move step by step, and once she was satisfied with what she had seen she knew it was time to end the class. "Very well done all of you, now remember to practice when you get a chance during your free time, and remember it is a hard life the Jedi way, but believe in yourself, trust in the force, and it will guide on your way to your destiny, off you go."

Adonia had little time to rest, she was already due for another class, this one would be for students much more advanced and older, Force absorb was not something a Jedi just picked up, it was a difficult but indispensable skill for any Jedi, and she would do her very best to teach the skill the the four padawans slated for the class. Arriving promptly to the immense class room, Adonia found that two of her students had already arrived. "Good afternoon, I see some of us are admiring the recent renovations, with any luck we will add a few of our own." Adonia smiled as she made her way to the center of the hall, "Well don't be shy come here, we might as well get acquainted while we wait for the others."

Well, for his first time on the Light of the Force, it was rather evident to Cotan that he would probably like the place - the architecture was, while not the same as his home, full of the same elegance, and just as grandiose. And, of course, while walking in, he noticed that a class had been going on that seemed based around his favoured form of combat.

Ah, well. Another time.

Smiling slightly, the Padawan looked over to the walls, noting the abundance of scorch marks, more than one would normally expect aboard a ship like this. That was evidence enough that this was likely to be a harder session than most he had taken, but that was no reason to back down, was it?

"Renovations?" he called, walking up to the group. "I wasn't aware that was the point of our lesson today."

Lutomi senses the presence of another and turns away from the statue. She is surprised to see him standing so close. While his footsteps did echo, they were more quiet than most, so naturally she expected them to have been generated by someone still much farther away.

"Hello," she said. "My name is Lutomi. Are you here for the class?" Lutomi does not extend her hand in greeting. It is not intended as an offense in the least bit. She will accept his hand if he offers it, but she never initiates a handshake. The social quirk is the result of an old scar from her past persona.

The Instructor arrived and immediately Lutomi bows from where she stands. She looks to the person standing next to her and nods before she slowly approaches to welcome the Master. She bows her head as she repeates her name. "Lutomi, Master. I am grateful to be offered your time," she concludes.

Normally Hunter would have taken his time in walking through the halls to make certain he did not disturb a soul, but today was different. He had been informed of a class taking place aboard The Light of the Force and had eagerly joined, only to be late arriving for it. At least he believed he was late. In his mind it was best to be early for everything, so when he got caught up in his reading and his watch told him he had only ten minutes before the designated time, he was late.

When he finally reached the doors he took a moment to slow his breathing from the brisk walk before opening one and entering the majestic room. It was very rare for anything to awe him but he had to take a moment to gape. Then he joined the group in introductions. He winces mentally at the fact that he was the last to arrive and even the Master teaching them has shown up before him. "Hunter, Master. Please excuse my tardiness," he said with a nod. He wasn't embarrassed in the slightest, but that did not mean he could not inwardly chastise himself for getting distracted with other activities.

Techaro was taken by surprise when the women unexpectedly turned around. He realized his mistake of going so close to the woman too late. The woman introduced herself as Lutomi , An interesting name he thought.

Before Techaeo had a chance to return the introduction, Lutomi suddenly bowed. Confused, the Jaws turned around to see the Jedi that would be training him and many others. He also bowed. When he stood up and turned around to talk to Lutomi, he saw that she had already run off, towards the instructor. Man, I really need to work on first impressions he thought as he slowly began to walk over to the teacher

"And that is why I'm am the teacher and you are my student, there are a great many things that you are not aware of, but with a little bit of patience and a good deal of trust, we will endeavour to cure our ignorance." Adonia scanned the man who had spoke to her as she turned around he was about her height his hazel eyes giving off a certain feeling of arrogance as he grew closer, yet he still had the marks of wisdom about him, for Adonia at least the future of this man was clouded, which was one of the reason she wanted him in her class. "You must be Cotan, I have been told you have an aptitude for makashi."

"Ahh Lutomi, I have heard many things about you." Adonia returned her bow, "It is my Honor to teach you all, it does my heart well to see so many young Jedi ready to learn such a difficult skill." Adonia walked few few steps away from the group, and turned around gracefully, "Now lets see who are we waiting on... Adonia closed her mind and felt he presence of a young man running toward the instruction hall. "Ahh there he is..." a few moments later the giant doors of the chamber opened to reveal Hunter Millard, the man who would be her future padawan weather if he knew it or not. "Your fine Hunter, but I would sync my watch to the ship clock in the future."

"Now that we are all here we may begin, my name is Adonia Xylona I am a knight of the Jedi Order and Cosular under the Council of Reclamation, and I will be your teacher today. We are here to learn the art of Energy Absorption, this skill can quite literally save your life, but it takes a great deal of practice to utilize properly. We all are taught to deflect blaster bolts with ease as we grow in the force, but if you master this skill...you wont have to." Adonia stepped back and dropped her outer robes in preparation for a demonstration, "Force absorption known as Tutaminis to some, is not a shield or a barrier, it is one Jedi's ability to absorb, dissipate, or release energy. You have likely heard the phrase 'let the force flow through you' well that ideal could not be more important today, for there may be a time where your ability to utilize this skill could mean life or death for you or another Jedi. Trust in the force to guide you, when you begin your lessons remember the jedi code, There is no death, there is the Force

"Computer active training program Adonia Alpha 1." Adnoa said as the turned away from the class and drew her light saber, soon a floating drones flew at her letting off a volley of blaster bolts, Adonia caught and absorbed them into her hand, and sent the energy right back out as a powerful force blast that knocked the drones into the wall destroying them. "As you can see this power can be useful when you are ever out numbered. We will start off slow, I want you each to focus on one droid, they will be on the lowest setting, I want you to simply absorb their blaster bolts through your saber rather than deflecting it, we must get the doubt out of you all and focus of the safe control the force. space yourselves out well, if you have any questions please do not go silent, I am here to help you not judge you, summon your droid when ready, and remember you must maintain a level of inner peace."

As soon as the teacher finished giving her instructions, Techaro walked off into one of the training chamber's corners. He wanted to be able to train without interruption, and, probably the most important reason why he went off on his own, he didn't want anyone else to see his mistakes. He was undoubtedly sure that he would mess up somewhere during the training. In fact, the only thing that brought him comfort about this activity was the fact that droids were the ones that would be firing blasters at him. He liked droids, and he would much rather have them shoot something at him than another Jedi.

When Techaro was ready, he reached in his robe and pulled out the hilt of his training lightsaber. The cold metal of the saber excited him, and he was anxious to get the exercise started. The yellow blade rose as the Jawa activated it, almost seeming excited itself for a new activity. Techaro had not used this sword in a long time, and he felt that it recognized that fact, too. The gentle hum of the lightsaber calmed the padawan's mind, while the color mirrored Techaro's golden eyes. Looking around the room, he saw that the other student's would be starting their training, too. Alright, he thought to himself, here we go. As he took a deep breath, the Jedi signaled for his session to begin.

Hunter listened intently to the knight's instructions and explanation. As she finished, he noted one of the others, the Jawa, walk away to begin. However, he stayed put. While he understood a great deal of her explanation he wished for her to clarify one point for him so he could make sure of his understanding. "Um,Master Adonia, when you say to absorb the bolt through your lightsaber, what exactly do you mean? Could you clarify that for me, please?"

Lutomi did alot of practice deflecting blaster bolts, so she chose to venture towards a corner where she would not allow anyone to come between her and the wall. She had a habit of deflecting, now she was required to absorb them. It was something she never considered. And she can truly see the life and death value of knowing this ability.

She had to feel the energy come at her in order to meet the blast with her beam. She tuned out the rest of the class, well aware that she would need to feel around her, in case a stray bolt came towards her at her back. Lutomi ignited her Lightsaber, her crimson beam cracked its familiar twang. I was different to her ears than the natural Crystal of the Jedi. But it's all she has.

Lutomi closed her eyes and let her mind's eye see for her. Finely tuned instincts are needed for this type of rapid movement. But the droid did start out slowly, and shot at her in a straight line, easy to meet. It took three deflections to finally perform a successful inward absorption. Lutomi felt a small surge at the first bolt she successfully absorbed. And she let the added energy lead her next motion. She wondered how much she could handle before she would feel overwhelmed after the training picked up. But her senses were quite perked to start off.

Closing his eyes and beginning to concentrate, Techaro raised his lightsaber in a defensive stance. He knew that it would take all of his knowledge of the force to complete this task. Absorbing this blast would be no easy feat, so he emptied his mind and calmed himself. He actually mustered enough courage and signaled the droid to fire. The droid aimed its blasters at the padawan and fired.

Techaro flinched as the blaster bolt hit his training saber.

Slowly, he opened his eyes. The blast was gone. Did I do it? he questioned hopefully. Did I actually do it? Coming to the conclusion that he had, indeed, absorbed the blast, the Jawa smiled and punched the air. His feeling of accomplishment was quickly diminished, however, when he took a look at the droid that had shot at him. Instead of absorbing the blast, like Techaro initally thought he had done, he had actually just deflected it. The result was a training droid without a head.

Techaro's smile quickly dissipated as he put away his lightsaber and ran over to the robot. Panicked, he was relieved to find that the machine was actually still working, and wasn't even aware that it's head was missing. Lucky for the droid (and the padawan), Techaro always wore his tool belt. He grabbed a wrench and the droid's head and quickly reattached it, looking over his shoulder every few seconds to be sure that nobody had seen his blunder. Within a minute, the head of the robot was attached, and Techaro sighed with relief. He slowly walked back to where he had stood before, and then retried what he had failed to do before.

"My question is the same as Hunter's," Cotan added. "I've little enough skill with blast deflection as it is, let alone absorbtion, so I could use a bit of help on that score." Turning his head, slightly, Cotan watched as a couple of the others went to work with their droids, smiling, slightly, when he saw the Jawa hit the droid. Still, that was better than Cotan normally managed.

By the Force, he hated those burns.

"It would be my pleasure hunter." Adonia replied as she crossed the room to join him at his side, taking the moment to watch Lutomi accomplish her task rather well for the first time, "Well done Lutomi but one bolt out of three will not do when there are lives on the line, calm your storm focus think not of the physical barriers that have been taught to you since birth." once she was beside Hunter Adonia began to explain her words in much better detail, even raising her voice a little louder so the entire class could hear. "You must take the blot for what it is, a blaster bolt is nothing but concentrated energy, no more no less, your light saber is simply the same thing, but lucky for you it is an extension of your being, weather your a Guardian or a Consular this weapon is your life young one, when I say absorb I mean for you to use your light saber as a safe conduit to add the energy to that of your physical and spiritual self, the energy just like yourself is noting but an extension of the force, you need only accept that fact and combine the energy in your body, this idea is what makes this skill so difficult and why a person who can wield it properly can seem invulnerable to harm. Your are part of the living force Hunter, when you use the force to jump high or to cloak yourself you act as a conduit of force energy flowing with it to fit your current needs, force absorption is no different other than the fact it is more a reaction than a concision effort, if I tossed a rock at your face right now, you would not think to deflect it would you? You would just do it."

"Techaro..." Said closing her eyes sensing the small level of panic and deception form that end of the room, gracefully running over to him she assessed the state of the droid. It was clear it took some damage, but it was operational and there was no real harm done, "Good repair work young one but this is not a maintenance class, you protected yourself and disabled your opponent this is good, but like I just said you must realize the connection between you and the bolt, and act on that realization using the living force. For we are all connected." She told him as she knelt down to his level and grabbed his wrist pushing his hand to a palms up position, the droid received his signal and shot a bolt their way, Adonia move the jawa's hand to block and use her own force power to absorb the energy through Techaro and into her, she then released it in a force blast that sounded like a thunder clap. "Trust in your senses they will not fail you, you deflect a bolt straight back you would have had to know exactly when and where the droid would have fired from, but that is only part of the process, sense the connection through the force, that starts here." she put her hand over his heart and gave him a approving look. "It all starts and ends here."

Cotan nodded, turning to face the training droid waiting for him. After a moment, his lightsaber sprung to his hand, as he sighed and resigned himself to likely getting a new set of second-degree burns from this training session. Still, like all the others, he'd been taught the basics of blast-deflection, so he had a fighting chance. He hoped.

Once he stood in his corner of the room, he closed his eyes, focusing on slowing his breathing, getting calmer, almost meditating in place so that he could allow the Force to flow through him. After a moment, he lifted his palm, eyes still closed, giving the droid the signal to start firing. Almost immediately the first shots flew, sizzling through the air, the scent of ozone lifting through the air. Cotan let the Force guide his blade, deflecting the first two shots harmlessly into the floor - heartened by his success at managing to, at least, not end up getting hit, the Guardian-in-training momentarily lost his concentration, letting the last two bolts hit him in the shin and shoulder, respectively.

"Blasted bolts," he growled, standing up from where he'd come down on his left leg, which if he hadn't been wearing long pants, would already be blistering up where it'd been hit. As it stood, it'd probably still have a welt there. Closing his eyes, Cotan again brought himself to the state he'd been in before, focusing more on the Force than what was around him. He could feel it rushing through him - almost like an electric current, running through his veins, but he could feel it in the others, as well - moreso, he could feel the energy in the air, from the droids, the bolts, from his lightsaber, all energy, all able to be manipulated.

Again, Cotan lifted his palm, signalling for another few shots to come his way, and the droid complied. His weapon moved almost without any thought of his own, to catch the first shot - but instead of just getting ready to move to the next shot, Cotan focused on the blaster bolt, to draw into his blade, and through it, rather than letting it just bounce off. On the first he failed, though at the second he nearly succeeded - it was almost like he was pulling on the bolt, rather than trying to diffuse it. On the third and fourth he managed what he hadn't earlier, managing to pull the energy from the bolts into himself, rather than letting them fly elsewhere.

Well, it's a start.

He lifted his palm a third time, aiming to repeat his success. After all, now that he'd figured out what would make it work for hi--

"Damned blaster," he muttered, as the first bolt hit him in the foot, the other three barely deflected in time. "This is going to be long, painful, and will likely necessitate a lot of bacta salve for me, won't it?"

Now with a better understanding of the exercise, Hunter thanked the Knight before finding his own "corner" of the circular room.

Once still he drew his training saber with his left hand, but did not ignite it yet. Instead he held it loosely and closed his eyes, quieting his mind and focusing on the Force around and in him. The noise of blaster bolts and sabers was soon white noise in the back of his mind.

He liked to imagine the Force inside him as veins, flowing and moving much like blood. In his mind he pictured a body standing upright with veins of light blue going throughout. In all honesty it was much like a diagram you'd find in any standard anatomy text. When he wished to send a push out with the Force he'd imagine the blue flowing to the hands and going out. But he only had to do that at the beginning of his training, eventually it became "muscle memory" of sorts.

Now thoroughly calm and focused Hunter ignited his blade with a sizzle and held it in a basic defensive stance. He then reached out with the Force. He could "see" or more likely sense the droid before him and the blade in his hand. He recognized the people behind him, but the noises were still drowned out. Motioning for the droid to begin, he easily deflected two blaster shots, but was too slow for the third and it singed the top of his hand. Ignoring the dull pain and certain he would be able to catch the other shots he told the droid to pause for a moment.

He imagined it would be as such: instead of making the blue go out as in a Force blast, he would have the blue go from out to in, as if there was this Force energy outside the body being drawn in. He motioned for the droid to start again and tried his theory out. The first few attempts were unsuccessful, and, as he wasn't aiming the deflections, he added two more decorations to the wall, one to the droid, and burnt the floor a bit.

As a child his mother rinsed his mouth out with soap if he was caught repeating the words spoken by his father and his father's associates. Remembering such times he did not swear at his failed attempts. He simply quelled his anger, calmed his mind once more, and tried again. Concentrating intently on the image in his mind and on his surroundings, he moved his saber to intercept the blaster bolt's path. Just before the bolt connected with his blade he focused on "sucking" the energy outside in. He felt the bolt connect then...nothing. He commanded the droid to stop and opened his eyes in confusion. He saw no other scorch marks around. His eyebrows came together in confusion. Had he actually succeeded after all the failed attempts? Shrugging in confusion, he went back to his place, took up his stance, retreated back into his mind once more, and had the droid begin again. He set out to see if he could do it again to determine if that instance was just a fluke or not.

Feeling a little embarassed, Techaro thanked his instructor for his help. As she walked away, he began to thing about what she had said.
Trust in your sense, he thought, mimicking what the Jedi had told him, I can do this. I can do this, he repeated to himself. Again, he ignited his training saber and signaled the training droid to attack.

This time around, he wasn't even lucky enough to deflect the two laser blasts that the droid had shot out. The first had hit him in his stomach, causing him to wince. Then the second hit him in his hand, causing him to drop his saber altogether. Rubbing his hand, Techaro picked up his lightsaber and signaled the droid to begin again.

On his third attempt, the padawan decided to take a different approach. Instead of seeing the droid and the blaster as enemies, he decided to try and view them as his allies. The droid was not trying to hurt him, but to aide him. The machine was giving him a way to defend himself, and to this, Techaro was thankful. On his next try, he would not anticipate. He would not worry. He would simply do. This time, he would use the Force as his ally.
He could feel It, all around him. It would guide him, and it would guide the bolt. As Techaro came to this revelation, he signaled to the droid to attack once more.

As the blast flew towards him, time seemed to slow down. Techaro's mind was emptied of everything except him and the Force. When the laser hit his lightsaber, Techaro inhaled deeply. The bolt was gone. Techaro could feel it as the bolt's energy traveled through his saber into his body, and a wide grin spread across his face. "Ibana!" he yelled, speaking Jawaese, a thing he did not usually do in front of non-Jawas. He lifted his hands up in victory when a red blast shot out of his hand, and towards the training droid that had fired at him before. The new energy that he had felt before had escaped with the bolt. Techaro gasped and looked at his hand, then at the droid.

"Of course," he muttered to himself, pulling a tool from his belt as he walked towards the droid whose newly attached head had just been blown off yet again.

"Focus not on the pain Cotan, the fear of pain breaks your connection to the force, it is also the path to true pain, which is the doorstep of the dark side. You have already accepted the fact that you will be hit..." Adonia signaled for one of the droids to fire at her and at the same time she deactivated her light saber. The bolt landed squarely in her chest, and dissipated and a red glow into her body, "That is why you fail..."

"There is no judgment here Cotan, but perhaps in your case we are going about this the wrong way, Computer set droid number three to killing parameters." Adonia stepped directly next to her student and crossed her hands behind her back. "The droid will fire on me, if he hits me I will die, protect me." Adonia did not flinch at the thought, she has every confidence that Cotan would not let her die,but she would put that same confidence into him, only then would he begin to trust his own abilities. "That droid will fire weather you protect me or not, and I don't much feel like using the force right now, you can do this I trust you."

As Lutomi was addressed she extinguished her Lightsaber and turned to nod at Master Amiri for her guidance. She listened to the additional instruction and watched the display given once more. The hardest part would be to render the bolt outward again from her palm. She had to first grasp taking it into herself. It felt...odd. And Lutomi knew that this feeling regarding it, is its physical manifestation which she will need to mentally conquer.

'Barriers. Barriers. There is no physical, only the Force.' Lutomi tried to let the limits of the physical state of the world fade away into the reality of nothing but atomic mass. She tried to see it. But even to see it, is a physical manifestation! Aggravating! But she wasn't truly aggravated.

Lutomi became distracted by the announcement of the challenge of the droid having been set to kill. And she turned abruptly to look on. The Padawan is just a little younger than herself. She didn't think him inept, but she readied herself just in case her assistance would prove to be required. Actually she started to feel a tad nervous. It was one thing to have been in a Fight Simulator for training, but to have someone actually put their own life in your hands on the spot like that! She could imagine how Cotan felt about that! Lutomi had taken a hit while in the simulator, but it was her mind that made her able to stand back up again. She should have been out for the count, but she had convinced herself that the ordeal wasn't real. But this...this is real.

All she could do is route for the other Padawan at this point.
