Someone once told me money can't buy me happiness. That got me thinking, 'why not?' A lack of money can ruin marriages, drive wedges into families, and destroy one's future. So why, then, can't it buy happiness? I can buy a ton of things with money: hookers, cigs, drugs, booze, more hookers. That's not happiness? I think whatever jackass told me that has never held a babe in one hand and a drink in the other. There's nothing better.
Best way to get happy is to get paid, getting paid is buying happiness. Don't want me to put a blaster to your head? Pay me and I'll be happy. Money makes the universe spin, y'hear, take the money out and society would collapse. Well, maybe not, but you'd sure have a lot of unhappy folks blastin' each other.
I'm sure you'd rather not have folks blastin' you. Don't want that to happen? Give 'em some money, and they'll stay happy and out of your business.
Composition and Appearance
A rampant chain smoker, Duthorian is rarely caught off guard without a cigarette, and large amounts of contraband can typically be found elsewhere on his person. Duthorian typically carries several holdout blasters and vibroknives, but has been known to stuff these spots with drugs or cigarettes instead of weapons, depending on his mood. His face has not aged well, with several scars having been acquired from various battles and the wear of constant smoking taking its toll on him. Despite his addictions, Duthorian has remarkable stamina, though eventually his lungs will cause him to give up pursuit - until he gets to his starship and pursues his quarry with the blaster cannons aboard it.
Personality
Duthorian Blackguard is the kind of person who just wants to get paid, blowing what money he does run into on drug, babes, and booze; often finding himself drifting from one job to another on low funds despite high payoffs. Built with a highly addictive personality, Duthorian is nothing less than a hedonist. Duthorian lacks any refinement, and can often be described as a cross between spacer trash, a vagabond criminal, and a womanizing playboy. Some have even be so bold as to suggest Duthorian has a small army of slave women at his disposal, but this is unlikely - any slave woman in Duthorian's possession would have doubtlessly been sold to buy more cigarettes.
Likes & Dislikes
Duthorian loves to get paid and blow his cash on hedonistic sex parties and orgiastic drug dens, but at the same time hates to be poor, which he typically is after he spends all his cash in the month after whatever job he's just fulfilled. Drifting between jobs, Duthorian sometimes enjoys to take his frustrations out picking bar fights with strangers and sleeping with other mens' wives.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Duthorian has a surprising resilience to foreign toxins and mental manipulation, being guided by an overly simplistic perspective on life and a overriding desire to get paid. Duthorian's primary weaknesses are his vices, which are unfortunately quite numerous. Unable to reliably maintain any sum of cash, the only time you can count on Duthorian to ensure cash arrives somewhere is if you promise to pay him.
Abilities
A surprisingly good shot with all forms of small arms, Duthorian is more than capable of using blaster weapons and other such tools to overcome any kind of foe, and when he can't there's always grenades. Whether drunk or drugged, Duthorian is still a combat-effective individual who can be counted on to accomplish any task.
Biography
Duthorian Blackguard is a notorious criminal and unscrupulous mercenary who will perform any job, and is suspected of numerous crimes though all evidence is, at best, circumstantial, and at worst unsubstantiated. Duthorian was born on Nar Shadda to a drug-addicted family, quickly learning to live on the streets. Joining a street gain, Duthorian quickly learned how to handle himself and any weapons that might ensure his survival.
At the age of fifteen Duthorian Blackguard became captain of his first vessel, his predecessor conveniently dying days before with little more than a document signing the vessel over to the young Blackguard. During his maiden voyage smuggling a large sum of drugs, several of the crew attempted to stage a mutiny, and Duthorian ruthlessly gunned down four of his shipmates and spaced another three, leaving the rickety freighter with a skeleton crew of five. The engineering crew mutinied later in the trip, sabotaging the sublight drives and sending out an S.O.S. The responding system patrol vessels discovered the vessel with a blown engine room, several bodies littering the space around it, and one ejected life pod. Duthorian Blackguard was nowhere to be found.
Appearing several years later in the shadowy underworld of Coruscant, Duthorian Blackguard became a finger man for a cartel operating in the lower levels, identifying unreliables both within the organization and the bribed security forces. It was later discovered that Duthorian was using his position to take out wealthy targets, allowing him to seize their assets in a quick heist shortly after. The cartel moved to apprehend Duthorian, only to discover he had moved offworld. A look into his bank accounts, however, showed that Duthorian was dubiously low on funds.
A long list of jobs followed which have been loosely associated with Duthorian, ranging everywhere from petty bank heists to acts of terrorism and sedition, Duthorian having developed a set of skills which allowed him to perform a wide variety of jobs. Despite this, employers are warned to not entrust Duthorian with any management opportunities - Duthorian is little more than an operator.
