So as of today I am a licensed driver. I passed my test and have my license. Though I feel as though a monkey could have passed the test.
Seriously, all I did was circle the DMV into a closed course. Did the quick stop, 3 point turn, straight park-in, and back up straight, and the pretend to park on a up hill and use my emergency brake. I NEVER EVEN LEFT THE PARKING LOT!
It took 5minutes tops. There was no backing up in a parking spot, parallel parking, speedbumps or anything else. Was your test this easy or what?

For my test, I was flown to Fallujah and given command of a humvee squadron. Our mission was to engage the OpFor in their stronghold on the other side of the city, while avoiding militant attacks in the crowded, tortuous streets. Needless to say, we took some casualties.

Seriously though, what did you expect? My test was slightly more difficult. We drove around in the mostly deserted residential area around the DMV and then did a bunch of parking.

American driving tests are painfully easy, hence why you lot spend all day bumping into each other and your roads are full of retards.

Try taking a British driving test, now there hard.

My road test was decent. I had to go drive on a high way, town roads, through a city, go to the parking lot, reverse park and park normally. They were looking at my breaking skills, following distance, speed, speed control, and knowledge of laws(ie stopping for pedestrians to let them cross in cross walks).

I know what an American test entails Chaos but it's still rubbish.

Back in the days when you got your full license at 16, I backed out of a parking space, went onto the highway, made 3 right turns (a full box) before pulling back into the driver's station and parking. The woman who gave me the test was an old bitty that said "Now, don't you go until I say go."

I just took mine today, coincidentally. Just did three basic parkings (stop at a line, reverse and parallel park), drove around residentials, highways, pushed buttons and turned dials on the dashboard while driving, and answered questions about imminent collisions.

We used to have a guy in my town who wouldn't pass any females, or any males younger than age 25. Needless to say, he made getting a license pretty hard.

I have never heard of a driving test that easy. Where do you live?

I'll take your word for it since you know all about it...

That sounds illegal.

Lavi's experience is the most normal, imo.

To get our G1 it's only a written test, but you need to drive with a driver who's had their G2 for at least four years. You have to wait one year (8 months if you take a government course) before you can take you G1 Exit Road test, which is about 15 minutes, and covers all the basic stops (no highway driving).

If you pass, you get your G2, which lets you drive by yourself, on all the 400 series highways, but you've got a limit on passengers under 19 after 12am for the first six months (iirc). You need to have that for one year minimum before taking your G2 Exit Test, which is around 30-45 minutes and covers everything in the book you could possibly think of.

If you pass that, you get your G license, which is your full license that most all drivers have. That lets you drive vans, cars, pickups and other small vehicles baring motorcycles.

However, Ontario is hoping to up the minimum time for both the G1 and G2 by a few months. It'd be 18 months for your G1 (12 with the government course) and another 18 months with your G2. At least those are the proposed changes, I think.

No way, that is so creepy.

Probably a good thing I don't live in Florida. Though unfortunately, my grandma lives there for 3 months out of the year.

My buddy went to Miami last month, and he said there were TONS of terrible drivers.

Now I understand why.
