Nar Shaddaa was a perplexing place to Shal, it was both dead and alive to him. this was inhabited by sentients from all over the galaxy but there were no trees, no animals running free and wild outside of small rodents, only card hard metal stretched length and breadth of this world. so different from his homeworld of Myrkr and Ajan Kloss.

But Shall hadn't come here to contemplate the force that flowed through this world but to meet with an individual, a doctor. he wanted to talk about to her about helping set up a clinic in on Nar Shaddaa to help the sick of this planet.

She told to him to meet her in a cantina, He didn't frequent many cantinas since he only needed water and sunlight to survive. He sat waiting for the doctor with only a satchel on him, in front of him lay two ceramic cups one filled with tea and other not and teapot, Shal would routinely sip from the full cup, taking in his surrounding, looking for docter despite the patrons staring at him due to his tree-like nature and massive size.

It was interesting how many species one could meet in the galaxy.

She had met Cathars, a Grysk, Firrerreos, a Chiss, Miralukas, and stars above knew how many other species. She had heard rumors of sentient plant-based species, even those that looked entirely humanoid until they were injured... but she often wondered at such a species, and wondered if they were simply a galactic myth.

That was... until today.

Her head ached sharply. This last patient had been trying; her head thumped with a pulse that almost felt deep-red, bone-deep, and no amount of drugs, legal or otherwise, was going to cut it enough to keep her usual borders up. She didn't mind pain, but she was tired.

Her usual threads were pristine, clean, and neatly pressed. Long white hair was pulled back in a clean straight line, and amber eyes glittered with a sharp edge. She didn't feel up to fighting or checking on another soul for at least another month... until her eyes landed on what her pain-fogged brain at first assumed to simply be a part of the décor.

A tree. Sipping tea.

She blinked once. Twice. The image didn't fade, and for once, the Doctor felt something trickle through her mind, which she quickly tried to clamp down with most of a part of success.

Shock. Then... awe.

She squared her shoulders, then stalked forward, features set in their usual cold mask, perching on the other side of the table and staring straight up into the being's approximation of a face, hand extended.

"Ah yes, you must be Docter Morata, would you like some Tea?" He gestured towards the spare cup and teapot with a warm smile, A nice cup of tea was always a great way to introduce oneself to a stranger in his mind. "It's my own special brew, it's all-natural just like me," he finished with a hearty laugh.

Shal pick up the pot and began to fill her cup if she accepted and then refill his own, "How are you, doctor? I hope you have been well," he continued to smile warmly while pouring the tea, he was taught to be well mannered when talking to anyone, so pleasantries were always a must when talking anyone.

A polite tree was offering her tea. At first, her mind couldn't process properly, scrambling to find the proper term for their species... it was only when she sat down that it clicked. A Neti. She scrutinized him intensely with a golden-eyed stare, then slowly took the proferred cup, head tilted slightly.

Her brow perked at his joke... and her lips twitched ever so slightly. Her closest approximation to a smile, despite the pain that still thrummed in her temples. Some of the pounding abated... but she settled down, delicately grasping the cup in slender hands.
"Hopefully not made from you, as well," she remarked dryly, taking a sniff, then a small sip.

Some of the pain began to wash away... but the feeling remained. If she were more clear-headed, she would have found the situation far more amusing, but at the moment she was simply exhausted. So many things crushing against her, wearing her down... It took effort to summon a response, but she did, spine straight and tall, and amber-eyed gaze clear.
"I've been better," she replied, taking another swallow.

"Pardon, but let me ask. Why is a being like yourself summoning a doctor? I'm afraid though I'm general practice, my specialty is not quite yet botany. And you seem in prime health." Perhaps it was rude of her, but she hardly cared. She was a doctor, not a politician. And people expected blunt truth from her; she was just too tired to soften her words.

And part of her wanted away from this physical group, at least long enough for her to reshore her mental walls, so to speak.

Shal was unsure if her comment was a joke or not given the delivery but it made him laugh all the same. though his smile was somewhat wiped away upon hearing she could be better, "I am sorry to hear that, Docter."

Shal listened closely to her question. nodding in agreement with Ilana. "That is all true, I am being such as I has no real use for a doctor but they're many others that do on this world, I have felt it." He sighed taking a sip from his tea. "I had hoped we would discuss business later as to allow for the indulgence of one of life's true delights, Sharing tea with a fascinating stranger."

"but if you wish to discuss business now, allow me to ask you one question,"

"why do you hide behind a mask of no emotion?"

Shal had spent a long time interacting with many different species of the galaxy, while a different many were the same. the common connector being emotions as all living thing felt them, even plants. So he had noticed her behaviour from the start even though there seemed to be crack in it, he curious why would someone try to hide a key part of their nature from the world.

She raised one white brow, coolly taking another sip of her drink. Interesting... the Neti was sensitive to others... perhaps there were truth to some rumors. But she could begin specimen analysis later.

"What makes you think I hide anything?" she rasped, tilting her head slightly. Focusing on the task at hand made the pain lessen to more bearable levels... but there were times she felt keenly the need to close her eyes and will all else to fade for a few brief blessed hours of sleep.

Now was not going to be that time, however, so instead she sat, holding her cooling cup in her hands. It would be interesting to see Shal explain himself... and hopefully, move on to the business task at hand. She was not up for dwelling on emotions, they were dull and predictable. Pain was a common factor for any reaction, and she willfully dulled hers.

Shal's hundred years of life, while short for his species, had allowed him to interact with a large number of the creatures that had inhabited the galaxy, despite for all their difference they were all the same, they held the same worries, the same problems.

"Every creature has something to hide, often these are weakness they hide, afraid to show them so they are not taken advantage of."

Shal took a sip of his tea before continuing, "If I were to guess, you hide your emotions because you are afraid that they would overwhelm you, so you suppress them in hopes that does not happen,"

"I can help you with that if you wish, all I need is your hand to understand more" Shal stretch out is hand across the table his warm smile still ever-present.

She definitely scowled now.

She defiantly took a long, slow sip instead, then set the cup down.
"I have no weaknesses," she answered icily, sitting up straight and tall. "Unless not caring what others think is a weakness." She didn't want to admit he was close to the truth; she suppressed things out of habit, out of necessity. Why, she had no idea... but she knew that giving in would be a dangerous game.

The moment she would slip and lose control would be the moment the Darkness in her chest would come out. All the hate, all the anger and the lies. Her hands trembled minutely before she balled them up against the table, then slowly lifted her gaze to his, expression smoothing and hands laying flat upon the table.

"I don't need help, thank you," she replied calmly, all her previous cracks of emotion smoothing over to nothing once more. "And if I did, I highly doubt you could help me."

Shal receded his hand on hearing her response, judging by her reaction his guess was more or less on the mark and that scared her to a degree with her trembling hands.

All he knew he could only offer his help, it had to be her choice to accept on her volition. though he believed with time he would get past her mask but that was future and he should focus on the present to see how to do the most good.

"Why do you believe I can't help you?" A simple question with likely not so simple answer.
