Dawn of the Republic: What's next, YOU decide!

Dawn of the Republic is the much anticipated next epic of the SWRP legend.

We know now that there will be three major factions that will inevitably shape a galaxy far, far away.

What will happen? You will decide! Will there be iconic heroes that shine as beacons of hope for the Galaxy? Only if you become them! Will there be bone-chilling villains that are feared throughout known space? Only if you become that nightmare!

With the timeline reveal, much contemplation and consideration is circulating on the website. As more details are revealed, discuss where your loyalties lie here; and when you think you've made up your mind, let us know where your loyalties lie!


Notice: It's understood that you can be in more than one of these factions, however, the poll is where you choose which path you're most excited about. Feel free to discuss any additional plans in thread.

So far my plan is one full on hard core jedi knight. A jedi padwan that feels the oder is slipping down a dark parth with the way they conducting the war so he will leave and possibly creat his own White Jedi oder. Last charter will be a indie solder in a facstion.

Indie faction for sure! If it's done right, the indie factions could play a really cool role in this timeline considering how much space (literally) there will be in the galaxy for them to rule over, interact with, or explore outside of the sith or republic territories. Then again, there's also an incredible amount of potential for the main factions to do stuff as well. But I'll probably also make a character either for the Senate or for the Border Alliance. I was never really into RPing as a Sith but maybe later in the timeline I'll get around to it.

Going to be making a pirate fleet which will hopefully get big enough to seriously influence the story, I already have many people interested and got quite a few ideas for events and other such ways of making the faction interesting. If anyone wishes to give feedback, advice or warning I am more than willing to listen to them, though I do already have a sort of vision on how I want the faction to be like, anyone can come in and change it up. An if anyone is interested we are accepting anyone and everyone.

Nice. I'm definitely going to give the Border Alliance a fair shake. Have a small interest in the senate, and considering an independent assassin/operative type of character that works for a Hutt.

All ideas are subject to change as more info is released about the timeline, so I'm reserving my vote for now.

This new Timeline is going to be Very Exciting, and I believe that Site Leadership has done a Fantastic job in not only doing all the work in rebooting EVERYTHING, but also in building up hype for the new Timeline! I haven't seen nearly as much anticipation for Anything on the site before, and it is a very nice sight to see the sheer magnitude of creativity radiating form Everyone, whether it be a project as big as rebooting the timeline, or creating a brand spankin' new Indi faction from thin air to something as minute as creating a new character to RP in their favorite Faction! I'm not saying this place was bland before, but I feel like I'm walking through an Escheresque puzzle of ideas in trying to figure out where/how my Characters and ideas will best fit into this unknown place.

Of 'course, Hype is Hype, and when we finally settle into our places, we will see what ideas gain most prominence and which ones kinda fall out of our laps, and I sincerely hope that none of us give up easily on our ideas when the dust settles, and I hope that everyone gains as much of a thrill out of this as I expect that I will get out of this huge event. For many of us, we are "Timeline Reboot Virgins", and it is the more experienced members' duties to be Gentle with us! ;)

Me personally, I will be ecstatic if I can find a perfect fit for my new Species Write up. I have been working on it for a while now, and I already have 38 pages written on it, so with the effort I've put into it so far, I really want it to be used by a Lot of members! (assuming it even gets approved!)

I might join the Sith, but I already expressed to two members I might join their factions so it will most certainly depend on what occurs. I know with the limits that are going to be imposed on archiving a character that I need to choose wisely. Guess I will have to wait and see. :D

I personally am excited to make a character for the Sacred Band of Ziost. I think it has a lot of good story potential.

Definitely going with the Sacred Band. I'll be re-imagining my Sith from this timeline to be a grunt in the Sith military. She never did work out as a full Sith in this timeline and ended up with a muddled story that went absolutely nowhere.

Overall though, no matter what/who I end up writing in the next timeline, my only goal is to improve my abilities and hopefully avoid all of the pitfalls and failures that I had with characters in this timeline. Of which there were many.

That's pretty much what I figured as well. Which works out beautifully for my character really as it shines a new light on what her possible motivations could be for serving with the Sacred Band.

However it works out though, Force sensitive characters are going to be a low priority for me. Had my go around with them more than once on other sites, and the idea has grown a bit stagnant for me. My energy next timeline will be almost exclusively focused on building non-Force sensitive characters who strive to be every bit as influential as any Sith or Jedi.

Going to play a Senator. Have a great concept in mind for a guy I want to play. Very anti-war and pro-diplomacy. But plenty more to him than meets the eye.

I will be playing a Jedi Knight. He will be somewhat typical as far as Jedi beliefs of that time, but he will have some hurdles from his past he had to overcome, some of which may crop again later (like, death of his master for example). He will be a dual-wield shoto-saber, who is excellent at sensing more than anything. Where he might lack in sheer tactical combat, he makes up for with his empathy and perception. I am hoping he can pal around with some of the other Jedi regularly, perhaps forming another mentorship of sorts. His political views will be very short-sighted as he focuses on combat and justice.
