I might want to assassinate one of you senators.

Remember this, if you get bored of your character, explored him long enough, want to make a diffrent character. Just Remember,

I will assassinate you.

Hmm, I don't think I saw anyone mention it, so I was thinking maybe I could play a senator from Falleen. They were a part of the Galactic Republic way before most! I mean, I don't think I saw anyone lay claim on a Falleen senator anyway.

I just wanted to point out something as well, since I feel like it's relevant here since everyone's claiming worlds.

Remember that the Republic territories haven't been announced yet. So just because you're planning a Senator from a certain world, it may not necessarily be in the Republic at this time. In the timeline announcement, we said pretty clearly that we're planning on making the main factions much smaller and that there will be a lot more wild, independent and lawless territories. Remember also that the Republic's coming out of the end of millenia of wars - it's a shadow of itself compared to what it was at its peak, so this will probably be reflected in the territories it has as well.

Just try to keep that in mind before you get your heart set on a specific world - it's a fairly safe assumption to make that the further out on the Rim a planet is, the less likely it is still a member of the Republic.

Interesting question for everyone wanting to play senator - Do you think your character would be pro/against Jedi/Force Users? Would there be a phobia or would your character encourage cooperation? In the past, this was one of the most interesting aspects of diplomats vs. Force users. Some people trusted them, some didn't, so it led to a lot of cool plots.

I'll probably be anti-Jedi, but my character is basically supposed to be just antagonistic in general.

Well, provided Edem and the Edemmians get approved, Senator Valloren will be pro-Force Sensetive (considering her religion basically considers them to be blessed), but whether she'll be pro-JEDI is another story, and one that I'll have to think about.

Good question, and I'll plonk it into two sections, just after I introduce you all to my new tax reform systems.

*Several hours later*

..now with that done, my answer is as follows:

Dantooine Senator: Pro-Jedi, seeing them as a weapon to be used against the Sith, but also feeling they should not be on the Senate as it gives them to much power.

Hutt Senator: lolno. Silly Jedi. Not a fan of the Jedi at all, seeing them as useless meddlers.

I will probably start out neutral, and decide based on site events and the various actions of players as my character interacts with them.

I'm net entirely set on all of this, but I'm thinking mine won't much care for the religious squabbles. Focused reinforcing the anti-slavery and anti-crime agenda doesn't really need Jedi Generals.

I will be writing two senators, one from Coruscant, working his butt off to get the whole senate moved to Coruscant itself (Because screw the agriculturally beautiful Chandrila.)

The other senator will be from Muun, as I hope it will be a part of the Republic. Shady, corrupt businessman constantly pushing the IGBC.

My senator will most likely be representing Tepasi.

He'll probably see the Jedi as a means to an end, though he may not pay too much attention to their affairs as he attempts to further his own influence in the senate.

Actually this might be good, it'll give me something to do.

Being that my Senator is the father of a Jedi, he'll be pro. I think this will make for an interesting aspect of Utapau politics considering the Utapaun Committee would still have a bad taste in their mouths from the Great Galactic War that crippled the planet, and Mother Nature is slow to heal.

I'm not too worried about this. According to canon (Clone Wars), Falleen was one of the first worlds part of the Galactic Republic. Even if it's not in this upcoming timeline, I still wanna play one of those smexy lizard-peeps.

I updated with the new folks coming in. We're up to 19 characters, which is phenomenal, considering we are MONTHS away from the timeline.

I'm going to make a Skype Chat tonight for everyone to chat in, so we can more casually chat about our Senators and questions we may be facing that will help with their construction. Feel free to continue posting here, of course. If you have a skype and would like to participate in that conversation, but do not have me added on skype, shoot me a PM!

Thanks for the reminder, Boli!

One more note along those lines: don't forget this is all just cooperative planning. None of these profiles or planet assignments are approved, as we are still trying to keep relatively focused on this timeline, and neither the thinktank nor the FLs have been put-together/selected yet.

Senator Reynolds will be leaning anti-Jedi at the beginning. Depending on what they do or do not do in the BA area, his opinion will definitely be swinging one way or the other.

My non criminal senator will probably be the suspicious/skeptical type. At least until he has had interaction with Jedi ICly. At that point how his interaction turns out will form his opinions. Sith he will hate because they are enemies.

My criminal senator will be in the dislike/indifferent category to begin with. That could easily change to hate though. Probably indifferent about Sith or Force users in general.
