Hey @TAC, I posted the profile of my character, Lidd Duchely. Ah, let me just say that we need more corrupt senators! Where are the greedy politicians? the cold hearted senators? This Senate is too utopian and what we need is something more... dystopian.

This is an assembled roster for the next timeline, which should start sometime this month hopefully. So yes you can.

It will probably depend on how you actually roleplay your character. While an aide won't likely be an official rank as far as I can tell, if you ask someone if you can be an aide for their senator character than it potentially opens you to a lot of roleplay opportunities surrounding that Senator. I'm not sure how they would work if they were directly employed to do work around the senate.

If I were to RP an aide, I would do it as an independent (so that I didn't lock up my main faction with the Republic, unless you wanted to), and work for the individual senator instead of the faction. But, as Beta said, there wouldn't be much to do in the faction itself - but it might be a cool challenge as long as you recognize that going in.

Thank you! Thyferra is in the Republic according to the map but has anyone claimed it since Sunday? If not I have a character idea left over from Legacies.

I'll be having him as the representative for Hapes, but a non-royal, instead having him as a Businessman with real estate and entertainment interests. Easily influenced to work in the favour of big business and the 'political dynasties' of the Republic, I want him to be a newcomer to the political system, not wanting to support the republic, but having to in order to make his break into the political spheres.

I heard they're not doing custom planets. We're all choosing planets within the Republic/Boarder Alliance on the map the admins put out.

so im really really interested in playing a senator for the new timeline! im still working on my profile first just to make sure i have it just right. i liked playing with the political aspect who learned to be rough and shoot stuff in this timeline with my count of serenno and i really really love the fact that people are wanting to make up the senate in the new timeline!

has anyone laid claim to representing naboo yet? i didnt see it on the main posts list but i havent looked through the whole thread to see if anyone had.

Where you getting your info? I don't think anything has been definitively released on that. And to my knowledge (based on what was mentioned way back when a new timeline was being mentioned) that they would still be doing just being much more strict about what they accept. That may have changed though.

Anyways @Zekec2020 there is no need for dismay until there as been an official announcement on the matter. Although if they do allowed custom planets your would either need to be located within the republic or BA in order to have a senator but you could still have an ambassador.

@Latte You wouldn't be able to be a senator from Naboo since its not within the republic. You could be an ambassador from Naboo though. But I don't think you would be able to do much more an observe and maybe lobby.

Where you getting your info? I don't think anything has been definitively released on that. Here is the new map with territories for the new timeline. I don't see why your character couldn't negotiate and try to get there planet into the republic. But right now we don't know enough about how it will be done to know for sure whether that would be possible.

Yeah, that's bogus. Since before the Senate was announced, and in part even before we knew this new timeline would be called Dawn of the Republic, I made Edem and the Edemmians. And I've brought it up several times here in this thread, and on Skype chats where Boli/Green Ranger was present. Fairly sure he would have told me they weren't gonna accept new fanon species and planets if that was the case.
