"They've given up." Was his simple response.

All the bad guys in the area agreed to their leader's instruction before lowering all their weapons and standing at ease; oddly enough there was honour amongst thieves and they showcased it right now.

Ovinci returned his attention to the leader, "Pack your stuff and get a move on. You're going to stop whatever it is you're doing when it comes to the Kath hounds and you can walk away - that's good for your health isn't it? Yep it is. Pretty impressive deal no? I mean, I've no issue with that. You best thinking it over because from here on out, apparently the Sector Rangers have an eye on you and you're not exactly flying under the radar with the Jedi Order either. But before you go, tell me what's the deal? Got a fetish for hounds?"

The leader shook his head, "No. We were just paid some creds to scoop up some hounds and bring 'em back to our small camp. Pass 'em over to some flyboy and I've no clue where they go from there or who's behind it. We just get an encrypted message instructing us to do it, and a payment following. Easy creds. Simple. Who's gonna miss a few hounds? They're plenty."

Ovinci stared blankly at the bad guys, "Ya hear that Ranger?" Ovinci had his comm on while talking to the leader.

The gang giving up was fine by her – less paperwork for her – but one thing she was not fine with was the Jedi telling them to just pack it up and go home. Sakas stared down at the Jedi for a long moment before shaking her head, knowing that the paperwork was actually going to be getting a lot worse from this alone.

Because now she had to report that a Jedi Knight seemed intent on shielding a gang of criminals from the law.

Heading down the cliff, Sakas thought about if it was worth trying to make a big deal out of it in the here and now. Technically speaking if the Jedi managed to let the gang get away with their crimes then he was aiding and abetting said crimes – along with assisting them in evading the law. Shaking her head, she responded to the Knight.

“The bit after you just tried applying ‘Boys will be Boys’ to an entire gang of law-breakers?”
She asked bluntly before scowling, “Yeah, I heard. Try and get more information about the nature of the deal and the information they have to contact this guy. Drop off sites, the whole works.”

If they could salvage a trail out of this mess then she would be able to argue that letting the gang go was the best way to gain new information about the rest of the smuggling and hound-fighting rings. Less likely she would be tasked with arresting a Jedi Knight if that was the case too.
