Hey guys. Figured I should make one of these, especially now that I am in need of being shown the ropes. Will beautify the thread once I feel like I've gotten a better sense of things. Thanks in advance.

Valin Thorne
Looking For:
 • Any company/help for assignments.
 • Training.
 • Meetups.
Not Looking For:
 • Romantic entanglements. Really don't get much of a kick out of that and the character really is not the caring sort.
Tarrik Lynch
Looking For:
 • Company/help for assignments.
 • Anyone who is fine with putting up with a 50-something year old (Human) Padawan.
Not Looking For:
 • Romantic entanglements. Really don't get much of a kick out of that.

Thanks again, and I hope to hear from some of you.

I think my Sith might be a good fit for what you're looking for. Whether as a full fledged master out having them just do a few threads together is up to you, I'm good with either.

Assuming you think the same as I do anyway. :p

I am most definitely down. I feel like the two are very similar and will get along famously. By famously of course, I mean mostly growling at each other.

Kholvar does not follow in the same general path I want Valin to, but I'm not sure a proper "Master" would sit well with Valin's hubris, and I do like the idea of having a Warrior emerge from an Assassin's training (which I would assume will involve a lot of bruises). This way Valin would simply attend a few spars with other people to learn the basics, and then hone his very different style with this Varaxes. This way, they both get to keep their lone wolf pride "untainted". That, and I can definitely see some long-term interaction between the two. Predator to predator, if you will.

This is simply a very early draft. Any changes will be welcome, of course. With a little luck, we might just have a lot of fun with this.

Let me know if Eris can fill any of the storylines you have in mind for him. Her profile's a bit of a mess (bio's hella unfinished) but the important stuff is there.

A Bowie song is one of her themes, so she's most definitely got my vote. No questions asked.

In all seriousness, though, she's one heck of a character. In a purely teacher-student relationship, Eris has loads of things I would love to have Thorne learn. Force Barrier and Shatterpoint being the main ones, with Combustion following closely behind and, of course Alter Environment. I am currently torn between having Valin learn Form VI or VII, as well, which is lovely considering Eris knows them both.

There is, however, a problem: These are all wonderful skills, but they're far too much for a small player like Thorne, as he stands (unless I am mistaken). Eris would most definitely be one of the greatest teachers my Sith could hope for, should he ever reach the rank of Crusader. And, when you add Kholvar to the mix, there is little more I could ask for, honestly.

Right now he's trying his hardest to make a decent Sith Warrior, and I believe that Form V is the way I want him to go. Were it not for him being "forced" to know Form I (which I agree with, by the way), I would have him jump at that opportunity in a heartbeat, but not as things stand. Unless I flip the whole thing on its head and have him learn Form VII before Form V. Don't know. Thoughts?

The other thing is that not only is Eris a master manipulator, she's also a woman. Without wanting to turn my character into a misogynist (he's not), he is a more primal kind of predator, which will probably not be overly compatible with a Vixen, for lack of a better word. I also get the sense that the encounter would be painful, because he does not have an active sex drive and is, as such, likely to realise he's being toyed with. When you combine that with the fact that she's clearly much more powerful than him and that his pride is massive, well... it'd be torture.

Don't get me wrong, though. This would be fun to explore. However, unless a third party that could somehow "defuse" the situation would join in, it would have to be more of an "on and off" scenario. At least until the man is a full Sith.

Like I've told Relent, I've "known" Erica for about 2 or 3 minutes, so there is a more than fair chance that I am mistaken about some, if not all of this. Do not hesitate to correct me, should that be the case.

Finally, all of that was relating to a mentorship. Regardless of whether or not you feel like you'd want to try something like that out, if you have any other ideas, mentorship or not, I would love to hear them.

Thank you for posting. I am excited to know your thoughts on the matter, and will be eagerly awaiting a reply.

If you're more comfortable waiting until he's progressed some, that's totally fine by me! She isn't super manipulative when it comes to her students.. or uh, she is, but not in a way that relies on any sort of sexual attraction. ('Oh no, I've dropped my lightsaber and I'm not wearing underwear, tee hee!' isn't a part of her repertoire)

What you'd like your character to learn (and in what order) is entirely up to you, so don't feel gated by any kind of linear progression through the forms.

If nothing else, we can always put them on a mission together, or if you ever find yourself in need of a social thread, we can work on that too.

That one'll tend to a much younger audience than the kind I was referring to. But before it goes any further, this is really not a conversation I want to have, no offence to you, so let's just please forget it ever happened.

Also, I'm not really thinking about training in Form V first because 5 is smaller than 7. It was simply because I figured that my character should get a sense of defence before delving into such an attack-oriented form like Vapaad. Ultimately, if he's not fast, strong or force, sensitive enough, Vapaad will not have that many advantages. For my style of RP, anyway.

In regards to missions, I am most definitely up for it. Take your pick, let me know and I'm there.

Apologies if my really lame attempt at humor was offensive. My jokes are bad 99% of the time.

It makes sense, re: lightsaber forms. When he advances to Crusader I'd be happy to have her teach him Juyo if that's still a part of your plan.

I'm out at the moment, but I'll take a look and see if there's something promising in the directory for us to try.
