"Following recent proceedings in the senate, I have come to terms with the topic I spoke of." Reddick grunted, still disgusted by the senate's distaste of the idea of stopping slavery. "I won't be able to press on a law that punishes rapists and slavers. But, the Chancellor's comments on ignoring the religions and customs of other planets intrigued me. I hope he doesn't condone cultures where rape and slavery are aloud, as some would see that going against the liberties and rights of the free people of the galaxy."

"Liberty was never meant to be comfortable, ladies and gentlemen. It was meant to improve ourselves and our society.
And, it doesn't matter if we simply label something 'illegal', but we have to act upon it. It is a disgusting problem that dwells throughout the entire galaxy. Not just the outer rim. Zaa Fenn's headquarters dwelled on one of the Chancellor's own planets without any of their own knowledge. It was the ISC who took care of that problem. It is heartbreaking to see so many representatives call justice a tyranny. Would you defend cultures and society where women are treated as second hand citizens and property? Where children have no right but to be used for pleasure? How disheartening it is to see everyone confuse the vile with purity and the foul with 'cultural appreciation'. Would you see those villains live better off than most of the galaxies homeless and ill conditioned? It is no secret that galactic prisons offer more for convicted criminals than soup kitchens can for the homeless. Those that do not want to change, cannot be rehabilitated. Those that take life and abuse it, should be punished accordingly."

"Concerning the senate's statements about the Sith and Jedi, however, I do not think those that have destroyed entire systems, ruining and glassing entire societies with their own unique 'cultures and customs', should be allowed to speak in the senate itself. That is evil. The slaughter of innocence is evil. Why should the Sith sit here and complain about their vast and growing Empire that has committed
countless of what the Chancellor consider to be 'tyrannies' over countless people- mistakes not so easily amended -when the Jedi made one foul mistake that could have easily been fixed without the expulsion of their entire people? If we have no jurisdiction over other peoples but have the right to exclude other peoples whom we have no jurisdiction over, then I am unsure where they stand."

"As such, I am resigning as Governor over Tatooine effective immediately. As a Governor, I expected to make changes I thought I couldn't have done otherwise. How disappointing it is to be wrong. I will, however, see to it that my anti-slavery operation becomes set in stone. I will fund it myself and will leave it open for public donation for those who wish to seek a change in the galaxy. I only wish to give a voice to those who have none. Hopefully that isn't tyrannical to any of you." Reddick would no longer stand for this insanity. The rest of the senate could all go fuck themselves. Except Aezz. Vanguard liked that Wookiee and what he stood for. "Good luck, ladies and gentlemen." And good riddance. "May those with love fight on and prevail, and my the corrupt find their well deserved doom." And with that, the EX-Governor would take his leave. He had to weave his way through hundreds of reporters, refusing to say a word thinking what he said was enough. After making it to his shuttle, he sent word to his administrators to return any and all ISC material he had previously owned back to the ISC. Now it would be time to go and do what everyone couldn't; Take bloody action.

Seated within his office, Galek watched the HoloNet with mild interest - hazel eyes narrowed upon the visage of Reddick Vanguard. Truth be told, the Vice President knew previous little about the man who’d been elected to become Governor of Tatooine - save the formal introductions extended to any new members of the Executive Council. More important to Galek were the passionate view that the newly-elected Governor espoused out the gate - ones that.. Quite frankly begged the question how he survived on a planet like Tatooine in the first place.

While idealistic, the abolishment of slavery throughout the backwater, Outer Rim worlds of the Consortium was neither beneficial or realistic to implement. Perhaps the man simply didn’t understand the government he was representing, or better yet possess the experience in how legislation was actually implemented on a governmental scale. Galek couldn’t help but squint at the man’s comments towards the Sith, veering dangerously close to a violation of the carefully-maintained neutrality of the Consortium.

The Vice President exhaled through his nostrils, listening as Reddick announced his resignation from politics. Oh well.

“Well, that lasted about as long as I expected,” Galek muttered towards one of his aides, hazel eyes flicking back down to his Datapad. The Ex-Governor of Tatooine made no jabs towards the ISC that he felt the necessity to respond to, and Galek’s office would undoubtedly draft a formal farewell and well wishes to the former member of the government within the hour. Perhaps Galek would make a token donation to whatever organization the man founded, assuming he didn't promptly fade into obscurity and irrelevance. Either way, the Ex-Governor was no longer a headache or the Induparan's problem.

Good riddance indeed.

There wasn't much to celebrate these days, so Senator Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl's staff decided to throw the aged Wookiee a small, private party. Little more than some light snacks, beverages, and conversation, the cause for celebration wasn't Reddick's surprise resignation as much as it was a nod to the fact that the Wookiee had outlasted another galactic politician; this time, a Governor from the ISC, no less.

It was the little things...

There was no person or body, no voice, just a letter posted to the official New Republic Government website.

The Office of the Supreme Chancellor of the New Republic, wishes to congratulate Governor Vanguard on his short yet exemplary service to his constituents on Tatooine, the Independent Systemes Consortium and the wider Galactic Senate.

We are sorry to see him go, but wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

Signed
Alexander Xerxes
