She had to change, too, as their changed approach would require much more subtlety as assumed at first and so she went back into her cabin to change in civilians wear. While it offered far less protection, Kalique usually appreciated the agility and flexibility it offered and so as she felt lighter, she was also feeling much more ready for their admittedly dangerous endeavor.

They moved into position and had to play the waiting game for quite a while. "It's fine...might be better to gather insights ourselves anyway". Assumptions and rumors weren't helpful, so sitting, waiting and studying allowed them to gain an actual overview, which they could easily use as an advantage.

He was the one to call the shots and so she agreed with his plan, however offered a potentially helpful variant. "I can deactivate the cameras from afar...the droids as well". Thanks to her different missions with the very tech smart agent Delevigne, Kalique had gathered quite some skills in terms of the manipulation of tech - admittedly, it was mostly using her refined pyrokinesis skills to overheat and fry just the right sections to leave no trace from the outside and only a very vague one on the inside, but it would help if they wouldn't have to physically deal with the devices.

"But go it. We'll move in swiftly, wipe out the Governor and extract her. I'll message the pilot to start the engines once we're on our way back". She took a deep breath and centered her mind before she gathered the Force around her. Hopefully the Force was with them now.

She reached behind the wall and checked for animate guards, but as no one was nearby right now, they would be able to use the darkness as their cover to make the jump with the help of the Force. On the other side, they'd notice how there was some faint light coming from the terrace behind the house and that inside, there were quite a few sources illuminated, however they'd had to stay in the shadows for sure. They slowly moved forwards until they reached a window which they could have possibly opened with the Force, however without knowing whether it was connected to some kind of security system, it was hard to assess whether it was safe.

They leapt over the fence, landing on the other side without being spotted. It was convenient that Kalique seemed to know how to deal with the cameras and droids because that wasn't a skill that Varyn had learned well.

They moved on to the window, and Varyn glanced up and down the side. He reached out with the Force and popped the latch on the inside, letting the window slide open as he slid smoothly through.

It seemed the Force was on their side because he didn't hear anything or see anything. The other side was simply empty, and he decided to move with speed. He charged up the stairs quickly and quietly before grabbing his lightsaber from the back of his belt just in case he would need it.

He burst into the governor's room a moment later, and thrust his hand out, letting the Force penetrate into her mind with all the strength he could muster. It wasn't about killing her or tricking her or flinging her back, it was about overwhelming her bodily systems.

She went down in a heap before she could even get up or scream.

Find her keys, we'll take her speeder out of here, he said quickly and quietly. It was pretty much their only option.

Kalique literally held her breath as Varyn opened the window but there was no alarm to be heard. There were no spikes in power, as far as she knew either, and so she went with accepting it was fine for now. They deserved a little luck after all.

Once inside, Varyn didn't want to waste any time and just like they had agreed, Kalique sped after him, however pressed on not making any unnecessary sounds. Thanks to his rocket start, he was there earlier and while sensed his sudden Force use, the Governor was downed right as she slipped in.

Good. Part One done. And they were unnoticed so far. At least as far as they knew. Kalique nodded and immediately started rummaging through her stuff. She targeted her jacket first, but there was nothing inside. She went for the handbag next and bingo! Speeder keys.

As if she only had one...but it was at least something. "I've got a one", she briefly informed Varyn with her senses on full alert, but the problem was that she did pick something up. "Uh no...". She motioned for Varyn to stay back as she moved towards the door, opening it just enough to allow her to see what exactly they were dealing with.

She heard the mechanic footsteps approach, until a YD Series Security Droid came into sight and fortunately, they weren't too hard to deal with. Standing at 1.8 meters, they were an impressive sight for the rather short Knight, yet she had dealt with the combat model before.

She carefully reached out with the Force and with surgical precision, targeted the main fuse. Through a quick appliance of the Force, she created a friction between the very molecules inside and thus fried it, rendering the droid useless. It stopped in its tracks, which would allow them to get past it as it wasn't capable of reacting anymore, but if someone ran into it, well then they'd better be gone already.

"Let's head downstairs" the speeder was surely either parked in driveway or in the garage, but well this they'd figure out once they were there. "Should I take her or keep the others off?". She honestly didn't mind either, but giving his injuries, he could better assess what was easier for him.

Varyn went to work tying up the governor while Kalique dealt with the droid. He didn't know what she was going to do with it, but whatever it was, she seemed able to handle it rather well.

By the time he was done, so was she, and he hoisted the governor over his shoulder.

I've got her, go for the guards, he said, holding out his hand for the keys so they could load her in the trunk. With any luck, they wouldn't cause too much of a scene on the way out. At least, that was what he really hoped.

He made it downstairs without difficulty and shoved the woman in the trunk without a second thought, booting up the speeder and hitting the control for the garage.

Let's go, he said into his comlink, waiting for Kalique to pile in before heading for the exit.

And head for the exit he did. At a high enough speed that he felt like he wouldn't draw tons of attention, but quick enough he could get out soon.

Uh... look for a control for the gate, he said, hoping there was a radio button in here somewhere to open the gate so they wouldn't have to try to ram through. Not ideal.

After the one droid was taken care of, Kalique waited for Varyn's answer and re-emergence with the motionless Governor. She kept her eyes all around, checking for cameras and as she rounded the next corner, she spotted the small, delicate object in the corner of the ceiling.

She made short process of it and let it implode by simply overcharging I circuitry through the Force before she pressed onwards, letting the Force guide her to guards within their near surroundings.

It seemed like the other droid was either in standby or at least not close, but she did have to knock out one guard by dulling his senses in one short, but vehemt interference through the Force. Her little detour had ensured that he wouldn't walk in on them in the garage and so Varyn had enough time to load up their precious cargo before she could make her way back ad well.

She darted towards the garage and slid right in, immediately hopping into the speeder and saying, "Okay okay go". She held on tightly and immediately turned around, eyes narrowed and teeth gritted as she basically waited for someone to notice them.

Varyn maneuvered the vehicle at full speed, and Kalique was tossed around a little before she managed to strap herself into the seat, however their next problem was right ahead. "Uhhh". Well fuck. Would she have to try to blast it with the Force while in the moving vehicle? Now this could get critical.

She already coiled the Force around herself as she frantically looked around before she spotted a small tag on the speeder's key. "Oh please" she muttered under her breath as she reached for it, leaning forward and scanned the buttons before she pressed the one with an 'O' on it.

To her surprise, the gate did immediately start moving, opening just quickly enough to let them pass through vastly unscathed if Varyn hit the right angle. However what they notice as well was that next to the gate, two guards suddenly emerged from the little.e house and opened fire without hesitation, so that the first bolt zoomed through the backseat window before Kalique could deflect the others.

"Okay they've...seen us. But they can't identify us...surely not. We were too fast" she did try to calm herself, but also, it sounded logical. "Start the engines. We'll be there in two" she informed the pilot before she checked the back again. There were no pursuers yet, but the question was how long it would take and whether they'd make it to the ship before that.

They know who we were, he said, quite confident but hoping they could escape in time nonetheless. At the least, they would know soon enough.

Varyn gunned the engine back toward their ship like a complete madman. Vahl (@Altaris) would have been proud if they were still on speaking terms. He came to a screeching halt at the docking bay as he shoved the governor toward the ship.

On board and in the air only a few moments later, Varyn didn't look back.

---

It had been nearly three weeks since all the drama had unfolded, and Varyn couldn't be happier to be out of it. there was still quite a mess to clean up with the diplomatic corps, but they had managed to smooth it over. Combined efforts of the ISB, diplomatic corps, and CenSec meant that they had rounded up the worst of the insurgents, and cut a deal to bring Centares back into the fold.

Trials would continue to go on for months or even years, but for the moment, peace and order had been restored. And really, what more could an Imperial Knight ask for?
