It's really just a spike in media coverage of gun rampages. And this has been boiling for a while; I don't think Sandy Hook had much to do with it.

The shooting occurred after Dorner burglarized a home, tied up a couple and stole their car, the source said.

LAPD cornered Dorner – or someone – in a cabin, then burned down the cabin to flush him out, except when the person got out to run he was shot at and forced back in. The cabin is now burned down and there are some reporting that the suspect set the fire himself. The LAPD downright murdered someone.

Never forget that statistically the general trend of violent crime is continuing to go down from since the 1980s. I am anti-gun but with a fact like that the problem is apparently solving itself to an extent as heartless as that sounds

Yes, death sucks. No, nobody likes this outcome if it is indeed Mr. Dorner, but you're downright simpering right now with little to no evidence as to what actually happened on the ground.

From what I saw on the news, they apparently heard a shot come from within the cabin, implying that he may have commit suicide. I don't know for sure, but he is definitely dead now. Like the rest of you, I'll be waiting to see the full details be released.

The news isn't the only source of details. They only condense information for mass consumption. I'll go to the source if I have to. The police departments release reports of investigations.
