It had been a while, to say the least. Ever since Naboo, Duke had really gone his own way without really knowing it. With the revelation of his father and the massacre on top of it, he needed some time to clear his head of dead weight. He found himself on Coruscant, a planet that resembled Nar Shaddaa in some fashion except that appearances were cared for on the planet. It similar to home in a few ways at least and he comfortably slid into his role when he arrived. With the recent protests that have propped in the deep core and the general uneasiness of the galaxy, he had been called back to the core in order to offer assistance where he could.

He had submerged himself in work, beat jobs here and there, raids, tailings, and now even calming protests. It made him end up with a few new marks as he carried a small scar on his cheek and a couple of others hidden underneath his shirt. Duke was dressed in his usual attire of a jacket, shirt, jeans, and boots as he had a pair of shades covering his brown eyes that stared ahead at a pond in front of him. It was one of the more open and natural places on the planet, living trees, and grass planted in the ground. There were small groups of families and couples all around the pond as they enjoyed it too. There was no way to escape the iron jungle of the planet though as metal buildings stretched toward the sky all around the park but at a respectable distance so that it didn't interfere with the view. While there was no escape, it was nice to have a break from all metal.

But Duke hadn't come there to just enjoy the scenery. About a couple of days ago, he had received call from Trys out of the blue to meet and he had been surprised and not at the same time. He had seen the holo of Crix and how his identity was so easily shared and it angered him to witness it, not just because of his own identity but because that he didn't extend his hand to help the kid or act as a guide. There was a cloud of guilt that hung over him that he couldn't shake for his lack of action. Trys had wanted to keep her son a secret and the fact that he had lost that secrecy meant that she would have been beyond enraged as well. What surprised him was how long it took for them to finally communicate but he didn't know the injuries that his old partner had suffered and what she had gone through fully.

It had been about six months since they had seen each other and he couldn't fathom what to expect as it felt an even longer amount of time had passed. Memories of what they have done together flashed through his head as they had been in perilous situations countless times. They were still fresh in his mind as they saved each other's lives but still felt slightly distant. Duke regretted that he had let them fall out of contact with each other in such a way and he wondered how their reunion would go once they saw each other. He had sent the location of where he was to her and he just calmly sat on the bench while he waited.
