Good news everyone!
A decision has been reached regarding who will comprise the new council, and who will be the new Grandmaster and Faction Leader for the NJO!
The new council will be as follows:
TAC with Larik Novan
Ben with Orlaan Ghess
Wit with Hal Farstrider
TweedPawn with Murielle Oe
Kyl with Von Raythe
The new GM will be TAC - congratulations and commiserations, you are now bound by blood.
So, there have been a bunch of us -- aka all active Master's on the roster as well as some others (such as Bac) -- working on how the changes in leadership should be agreed upon and implemented.
To address how we elected the above, it was done through a vote. Each person involved (14 people voted in all) have 5 votes, and the five members with the most votes made the council. The GM was then selected based on IC and OoC perspectives by the 5 people elected.
We wanted to be both as representative, and as efficient as possible, and I believe that those goals were accomplished. Thank you to everyone who helped reach this outcome.
In the coming days, we will be looking at tying up the loose threads of Call to Action, setting down the hearings for a few characters, and organising how we should proceed as a faction; as always, we're open to suggestions! A few changes have been decided on already however.
As you may notice, there are now five council members, rather than three. We hoped to establish a broader spectrum of opinions to keep as many people in the loop and happy as we reasonably could. We have also scrapped the use of specialised titles for each council member. This is in the hopes that all members can take a more holistic approach to their duties, and if one member has to take time off, their whole section doesn't go away with them.
Furthermore, the Grandmaster -- in IC terms, Faction Leader will be the same as ever OoC -- will have a more 'limited' scope of power. The title will still carry respect and authority, but now they will be a chair of the board figure, and less a ruler. They will be the speaker for the Jedi, and the principal character responsible for leading the faction; just with a bit more help.
