"Who is Alter Ego?

Hello Galaxy, I'm Larna Myer with the NNN and today a manifesto has been issued online which has gone viral. The four minute video clip features a digital representation of a man calling himself Alter Ego, a hacker who plans to unleash some terror on the cyber world in the coming weeks. In his speech, he threatens to hijack bank accounts, reroute supplies for the military, shut down the security of major corporations and disable governmental databases so that he can mine them for data. The video, which has now reached over six hundred million hits, marks its place in history as the fastest growing online attraction in history. All over the web, groups have sprung up taking credit for the mysterious declaration, and online communities are buzzing with rumors about the identity of this hacker or group of hackers. We will now play the video for everyone at home to see, be warned, there is some content which may offend.

We have been monitoring chat rooms looking for information as to the credibility of the threats and have obtained this exclusive information for our viewers at home. What you are about to see is an excerpt from an online encrypted anonymous chat room, where members of hactivist groups have been discussing the identity of Alter Ego, viewer discretion is advised.

Do you know why I started this whole thing? It wasn't really for the fame, or the money, or the bitches. In reality, I have none of those things. I'm poor, I'm alone and nobody in the entire galaxy knows who I am. But I'm free. I'm the freest man in the galaxy and no one else can tell you that. I don't know, man, it's just that I've always wanted to just be free and just do what I wanna do without everyone worrying about it. Live and let live, all that good stuff. Do you understand what I'm saying? It's stupid. They won't ever let go of their grip.

I'm not really one of those script kiddie hackivist retards like everyone thinks I am. It's just what I do for fun, yanno?

Honestly, I think the whole hacktivism thing is a little tired and played out, I just want to do my thing and get paid for it. That sound okay?

Expert Hacker - Jayce is a phenomenal prodigy when it comes to technological (software side, mostly, though he does know his way around hardware) skills such as programming or hacking. It is not a ridiculous assertion to claim that Jayce may, in fact, be the most skilled programmer in the galaxy. Though he is sure there are others, perhaps under the employ of the Imperium, who may be as good as he is.

Ghost - Jayce does not exist. He erased all record of his existence thirteen and a half years ago. There is no database in the galaxy with information other than what he wants people to know, which is nothing. If you have information on him, any of his gear, his skills, his name, his past, or anything he has not told/shown you before: You are metagaming.

I tend not to worry so much about writing down history for profiles. History is largely irrelevant for most characters and is almost always cosmetic. It's safe to assume that Firrerreo (due to their healing factor) probably possess a longer lifespan than humans. For this reason, it can probably be assumed that Jayce (as a force sensitive, likely with a large lifespan) has picked up skills naturally over the course of his life, and honed them with the addition of the Third Eye.

Has the information disruption and credit theft been run by Rom?

The ones referred to in the Manifesto are plans which I will RP out IC.

I think you get a pretty good idea of his history, just not a lot of specifics. he was obviously a gifted programmer, he got qualifications and he obviously spent some time working for a private company, after which, he vanished and has joined up with some hutt cartel as a techie type guy. you just have to read it and think about it.

true facts. so, the reason i didn't include a lot about his history in that regard is because at the end of the day, all he knows are a bunch of sensory and supplementary abilities. as far as i know, none of which are super amazingly powerful or require a significant amount of control? perhaps the exception is way of the small, but we can consider that my specialty.

I also think his hacking (actually slicing) skills are OP. And Ubiqtorate would still have this person on file. As explained to me, Ubiqtorate's files are hand-fed into the databases which are isolated to prevent people from accessing it and changing data. And it seems more like you're metagaming saying it's impossible for his identity to be known anywhere.

Yeah, I'm not asking because I think your profile is bad or that he's overpowered or anything, I'm just nosy - especially because he's a Hutt! As far as powers go I do remember that Dopplegänger has some restrictions on it in actual RP, but you don't seem like the type to be oblivious to that.
