"I'm not too bothered by either of them." Added Gunthrax, currently flipping his revolvers around his fingers. He stood up and stated "Guys, I think we've got a better chance on the first option. I mean they'd kinda have to believe me. But if all else fails we should just go in and mess sh*t up." He almost sounded serious. He'd be more relaxed if he was getting paid but considering this sounded serious. He was all for it.

"I'm in. Not like any of my plans have succeeded anyway. But this guy here, the bounty hunter. I say we lock his precious little pet in Brayden's ship. That way, he has an incentive to cooperate with us all the way to the end." Merrik just knew the Karkarodon was going to stab them in the back at some point, so he wanted at least some collateral before Gunthrax was added to the group.

Gunthrax opened his mouth to argue but he changed his mind. His pet WOULD be out of harm's way. He thought about it and finally said "Guess its a deal. Promise me he'll be fine though." By the look on his face the others would hopefully trust him. If not... I guess that'll be fine anyways. His loyalty lied with the highest bidder. In this case it was the life of his beloved pet.

Brayden thought about it for a moment, while he listened to the others talk, he noticed that Kip realized his abilities would be more suited to be used outside of being used as a prisoner, this showed at least basic information on his abilities. 'He must of looked me up like I did him.' This piece of information gave him a bit of respect for the former Sith but he was still wary of him, at the same time however he didn't like the idea of putting a dangerous creature inside of his ship, but it was likely the most secure considering it was a light freighter normally used for smuggling. "Yes, he will be more than safe in my ship, it's set to attack and take off using it's on ship auto control terminal if tampered with by anyone who does not have my special identification key." He wouldn't say what the key was just in case someone was listening or if the Shark wanted to try and take the rare ship.

Giving the Karkarodon a sharp look of both understanding but stout seriousness, he spoke to him once more, "If you want to leave any food or water with him, I'll take it with me, so that he'll be perfectly comfortable." As he said this he made his way to the creature, giving off a wave of force energies that were specifically concentrated to make beasts docile or friendly, on most domesticated animals this would work immediately. Though with an animal of his stature it was not exactly perfectly determined, considering he was a normally dangerous creature that was tamed by the person now before him. "Good boy." His voice was perfectly even and calm as he said this to the creature holding his hand out as if to command him to defer to him. It was more of an experiment on Brayden's part to test out his considerable power on a new skill that he hadn't completely mastered yet.

Gunthrax quickly walked over to his pet Lawgriffarl and spoke a few words to him. "You'll be fine, I promise. I'll leave with with enough food and water. Love ya'." The pet embraced him and Gunthrax hugged back. He didn't have many companions to look after but he was determined to keep this one. He held down a button on his gauntlet and said. "Droid, fly the ship to my location." The droid then responded with a few beeps, a few boops and the ship flew up into the sky and landed a couple of meters behind him. Gunthrax began to speak. "Now, I know you guys aren't willing to pay me but I'll help. As long as I... GET TO KEEP THE LOOT FOR MYSELF!" he spoke triumphantly. He smiled crookedly and walked backwards to his ship. "I'm just gonna go get some smoke pellets and then I'll be good to go." He waved goodbye to his pet and it nodded its head furiously, in a way of saying bye. He searched his ship and found 3 smoke pellets and as well as 2 EMP charges. He turned his ship onto 'CLOAK' mode and swiftly exited. He checked all his weapons, to see if they were all full. He attached a small scope to his assault rifle and did some practise round. He aimed at 3 small rocks, aproxx. 6 meters away from him. He fired 3 times and flicked his gun to 'SAFETY' mode. He picked up the three rocks and smiled. He managed to fire a hole in each one...

Kip pulled the thugs to their feet untying there hands, reassuring they didnt have any more weapons on their person.

SMASH!!! SMASH!!! SMASH!!!

Kip beat their blasters till the internals broke rendering them inoperable, as he handed them back to them. Fully aware upclose it was obvious they were broken but from afar you couldnt tell the difference.

He Loosley wrapped the ropes around Merricks hands and his own. To have the appearance of being detained. Looking to both merrick and Gunthrax he nodded softly with confidence, trying to reassure them it all would work out.

Panning his attention towards Brayden "remember stay hidden, out of sight out of mind. And most of all....stay close" kip finished with a grin. "Alright gentlemen here goes nothing."

The Jedi began marching up the road toward the crystal mine. The trek was long and boring, the only things of interest being the mounds of yellow dirt scattered across the otherwise barren expanses of open field on either side of the road. Merrik, as usual kept his cool, playing out scenarios for the upcoming rescue mission in his mind to pass the time. He knew things would get hairy, and the kid would be in great danger, but he looked back on his own childhood and decided that Jake would not only survive, but grow as a warrior from this experience. The only thing that worried him was the bounty hunter accompanying the group. Having spent over half his life around bounty hunters and warriors, he knew they could rarely be trusted to do ANYTHING for free. Gunthrax said he just wanted the loot in the aftermath, and that was fine, but Merrik had his eyes set on the Gem Hoarders boss' personal crystal. The gem was supposed to be very high quality, and as such, would be perfect the perfect I'm sorry gift for someone he'd wronged. So long as the shark-man kept his hands off of it, there shouldn't have been a problem, and both parties would walk away happy. But, deep down, he just knew it wasn't going to be that easy...

Gunthrax looked towards the jedi and knew something was up. "Speak Jedi, your silence is driving me insane." He said, slightly joking yet still quite frankly annoyed by it. He looked at the dust beneath his feet, always moving buy never changing. He looked at the jedis that were tied up and said. "You lot are sure you want to do it this way? We could just attack head first." He looked slightly concerned. How the hell would this work? What if they just opened fire? All these thoughts were rushing through his mind. He violently shaked his head until clear thoughts came back.

"You underestimate the abilities of the jedi?" Kip questioned. "This isnt going to be easy....but the boy WILL survive. Hes strong one." Looking back at the bounty hunter as they treaded towards the thugs outpost.

He panned his surroundings looking for the sight of brayden only to find nothing. Seeing they were close to the outpost Kip turned to merrick "when the time comes release the boy....me and brayden will try and occupy their attention till hes safe then we can finish em off."

"Alright, but I've got dibs on fighting the boss." Merrik replied sternly, showing that this wasn't up for debate. He was dead set on getting that crystal before Gunthrax even knew of its existence. He needed it to make amends for a past mistake after all. For the rest of the walk, he refused to speak as he'd retreated into the deepest chasms of his mind, once again imagining the numerous ways this could play out.

As the group approached the gangster's base, he began scanning the area for any signs of Jake. The gangsters were cocky and stupid. They'd left the young jedi in an animal cage next to what appeared to be the boss' tent. The tent was the biggest around with strings of crystals hanging over the entrance and Its dirty green cloth quivering in the cool evening breeze. All the other tents were small and yellow, as if they were made to blend in with the dirt around them.

The gangsters in the camp were bruised up and on edge. After being decimated on a routine raid, they naturally felt unsafe. When the jedi approached, they all sprang up from their seats and watch-posts and prepared to defend. One stepped forward and spoke: "Y-You th-th-there! What going on?!" The Twi' Lek was shaking in terror and had a wild look in his dark eyes. Merrik couldn't tell if the thug was more afraid of Gunthrax or the Jedi he had brought along. After some rapid scanning, the Twi'Lek's eyes stopped on the giant shark-man, showing that the question had been directed to Gunthrax. Merrik prepared for battle.

"These are my friends Twi', we've come for business. We'll only fight if we need to... Or unless we kinda want to." Gunthrax muttered. He kicked a small bench sideways as cover. He pulled out his revolvers and laughed. "We're going plan B!". He started firing above the cover, he knew he just made a mistake. He took out a few thugs, including the Twi' Lek. He knew he should explain himself. "Sorry, I panicked. All this pressure messed my head up." He then had a brilliant idea. He raised his arms up while shouting "DON'T SHOOT!". He had a few blasters locked onto him. Hr walked forward surrounded by the thugs. He went on his knees and put his hands behind his head. He then was knocked out cold, his last thoughts were of his Lawgriffarl. The thugs turned all their attention to the Karkarodon. He was creating a diversion.

Wow...that was dumb... Merrik thought as the Karkarodon hit the dirt. At least the jedi wouldn't have to worry about him anymore. While the guards were focused on the sleeping fish, Merrik slipped out of his ropes and quietly approached Jake's cage. "Come on kid, lets get outta here," he whispered calmly. Merrik ignited his blade and cut the cage open. Knowing that the gangsters would return their attention to him, Merrik grabbed the nine-year-old by the arm and flung him back toward his master, Kip. As the boy flew through the air, a large Gamorean exited the tent. The pig had a sparkling kyber crystal around his neck and a youngling's lighstaber attached to his belt.

"WHATS GOIN ON OUT HERE?!" he screamed in pure fury, globs of saliva flying out of his mouth. "CAN'T I LEAVE FOR 5 MINUTES WITHOUT YOU GOING AT EACHOTHER'S NECKS?!" Merrik cringed. The dirty hog's breath smelled like a bantha farm, and his armpits were even worse. It was disgusting, so much so that Merrik couldn't even get close enough to attack.

*gag* "Ugh, surrender, or we'll have to eliminate you!" Merrik yelled while covering his mouth and nose. He wanted to kill the vile beast, but he knew the Council would not approve of such an action without good reason and so he stayed his blade to wait for a response. The Gamorean turned to his comrades and yelled, "KILL EM ALL!" In his piggy language and the thugs readied for battle. The main assault had begun.

Thankfully the 'knockout' was just a ruse. When the thugs had turned their attention to the Jedi, he jumped to his feet and ran into their mine, where are the loot was kept. He rummaged through the crates, finding one or two credits. He got all the loot his bag could carry and he happily made his way back to the fighting. His head really hurt though. He waited at the edge of the entrance and held up his assault rifle. He made sure the safety was off and he found some cover. He started firing at the ones at the back, the ones who had snipers. He drew some of the thugs' attention which was what he was after. He lured the ones that were following him(around 15) and held his rifle like in a gangster movie. "Ello boys, looking for someone?" He smiled. He held the trigger down and they all fell, not surprising really. He made his way, carefully, back to the Jedi. "Did ya miss me?" He said, half laughing and half serious.

Kip was beyond livid with the bounty hunter. Simply for the fact that he had placed his padawan in yet another lofe or death situation.

Igniting his red blades, he turned to jake "this time stay at my side!?" 'The council is gonna kill me' he pondered as he readied himself for an assault from the thugs. His main focus was protecting the padawan this time.

"If you gonna do it, you better do it now!" He commanded his fellow jedi Merrick. Looking for brayden he guided jake with him finding a safer place cor him instead of plain sight.

Brayden had been watching the debacle from afar, and silently wondered to himself if his drop in was as bad a mess as this appeared to look. One thing was for he didn't deem the bounty hunter nearly as lethal as he had before, in fact the man appeared now to be a raging lunatic, whether it was another ruse or not, he hadn't known but it had made him wonder. Aside from that, there wasn't much going on, the thugs were terrified of both them and their Gamorrean boss. There was no bright end of the tunnel for them at either side, it was be defeated or be killed pretty much, however, he didn't like how long the mission was taking and since he was still hidden he thought to take advantage of it. Making his way around the small outpost he managed to get behind the position of the boss and slowly stepped out arm extended.

Concentrating he lifted the pig man up, and locked his limbs in place basically making him his own personal marionette, from there he simply called out to the rest of the battlefield, "You will all stop and drop your weapons now, or I'll crush him into a mess of flesh and continue with the rest of you!" Obviously he was referring the the thugs under the Gamorrean, and to make his point clear he began to squeeze his hand which in turn put a squeeze on the Gamorrean making him squeal out in pain and discomfort. Now in his defense he had no intention on actually crushing the Gamorrean and not just because of the mess it would make, but because it felt like something he shouldn't do, no matter how badly he felt he deserved it. From there he simply looked around as he waited for his words to sink in both for friend and foe, hopefully his allies would see what he was trying to do, end the bloodshed, and that the bounty hunter would see just how easily he could take him out should he betray them.

"Awww...you're no fun." Merrik mused as he shut off his lightsaber. He was genuinely disappointed that he wouldn't be getting his epic 1v1 with the gang's boss, but he knew this was the best way to handle the situation. "Alright, the rest of you, drop your stuff and we'll spare you, Jedi's honor." He raised his right hand and placed his left over his heart to show that he was sincere. Most of the thugs believed him, and dropped their gear and raised their hands, tentacles, and other assorted appendages into the air in submission. Hopefully, the rest of the gangsters down in the mine would believe him and surrender unconditionally.

Using the Force, Merrik took Jake's lightsaber and the high-quality kyber crystal from the Pig as he could no longer fight back while suspened. He decided to hold onto the treasures until the mission was over.

Kip approached Merrick deactivating his blades, and placing his open hand towards his padawans saber, annoyed and disappointed he glared at jake.

"What was the lesson learned today, kiddo."

Kip slightly smirked trying to avoid jake seeing his facial expressions, for kip was ready for a typical smart answer. Regardless of kips dark past, he had a love and passion for his padawan as if he was his own son, his own chid. Despite what most jedi members claim, Kip was a sort of a rebel compaired to most jedi. For he didnt follow the jedi ways and code to a 'T' and one of those T's was his compassion for the padawan.

"You had me worried for a second..."

He chuckled trying to not show too much emotion.

It seemed there was some sort of commotion by the gate though Jake could barely hear and could see nothing. But even though he could not hear the tell tale hum of a lightsaber Jake knew some how that it was the rest of Jedi at the gate. Though he wondered why no one had start any shooting . That thought left him soon after when the shooting did start. Shooting was rather common here so the response was slow but Jake knew the place was under attack. He wondered if there plan had fallen in to rush them yet again.

Jake tried to push the cage open but it was built to house beasts far stronger than a 9 year old. But it was not long before a lightsaber simply cut him out. Jake did not like being tossed nore the order to stay close. But with out a lightsaber he had little choice. "yes master" But as soon as the leader was lifted up Jake properly left Kip's side and ran over to him. He could not reach his lightsaber but it took little effort to draw it to him with the force. Jake really wanted to stab him, not kill him just stab him. Of course that was very much against the code.

standing next to his master again he gave the expected smart answer to his question. "don't get shot in the back"

'Well wasn't that fun' Gunthrax thought. He had to admit that he did go a bit crazy. He looked at the so called Kyber crystal and then said "Hey! You said I'd get the loot. Hand it over!" Gunthrax had no idea what this crystal was but... A deal's a deal. He was now very suspicious of the Jedi. How come they only take a small crystal? He had to know.

"what do you even want with Kyber crystal. You plan on making a lightsaber?" Jake had no idea who this man was but he knew he was no jedi and had no right to give orders. "Any case it is only fare the slaves here get to take what they mined from the earth and had stolen from them"
