Kesiya's morning had started like many others, waking up a few hours before down to shower and meditate before she early shift started. It wasn't long before she was in her robes and mask walking through a maintenance room on the side of the walkway to the cafeteria and into a hidden security closet with a desk and over a dozen monitors displaying various locations around the temple, and even a few places throughout the city beyond. "Anything interesting?" She asked the similarly masked Jedi sitting at the desk. Even through the mask and armored robes, Kesiya could tell it was Doneric Javle, a Chiss male, mid twenties and a good friend of hers.
He spun around in the chair with a cup of tea in his hand, removing his mask to take a few sips before answering. "Not much boss, a few kids making a fuss out at the eastern gate, wanting to take a tour of the temple later, but they quickly left once we contacted the school they were skipping class from. Other than those puddles from the rain last week are still lingering in the sparring pit outside, the one with the tree overhead. Some of the elderly Jedi masters are complaining that the mud is a hazard, but the younger Initiates have been sparring with staffs in it attempting to work on their balancing skills. A few broken noses and bruises so far, but nothing major." Kesiya gave him a disapproving glare as he quickly replaced his mask, she'd let it slide since it was so early and she wasn't in the mood for writing him up for being out of uniform, but he'd know better than to do it again.
She poured herself a cup of tea, causing Doneric to glance up at her with curiosity as to how she planned on drinking it without removing her mask just as he'd done. She cracked a cheeky grin and whistled when he saw the straw she'd pulled from within the folds of cloth covering her wrist. "Good, the Initiates can continue their exercises, balance training in mud is actually a good idea, perhaps we'll have some of the guards go out there later and show them how it's done when we're off duty. As for the Jedi masters, let them complain, once they come in for launch they'll spend the rest of the day in their meditation rooms or the garden. They won't even remember the mud is there until they complain all over again tomorrow." Kesiya laughed to herself as Doneric pulled a datapad off the desk to do the hourly report.
He was busy going over the paperwork and focusing on the lower screens that he missed something in the second to the top screen over in the corner. Kesiya sighed. "Javle." Kesiya used the man's last name, causing him to stop what he was doing and look where she was looking. He was already pulling up the last thirty seconds of the screen's video before she even asked him to. "Are those the kids from earlier? Don't tell me you just threatened to call their school. Now we'll have to fill out a proper report and contact local authorities." Five teenagers were busy climbing a tree and walking along a large branch to jump down to the other side of the wall onto the temple grounds.
Kesiya was already out the door and halfway down the hallway towards the cafeteria by the time Donneric was shutting off alarms and alerting the nearby security guards not to use lethal force. This was just what Kesiya needed to start off her day. It didn't take Kesiya long to arrive to the scene, three other temple guards had already halted the children and made them sit on the ground, though no one had any weapons drawn. Nothing visibly distinguished Kesiya's uniform from the other guards, but it was quite obvious by the way she carried herself that she was in charge of the situation and the other guards answered to her. It was even likely that the trespassers wouldn't even know she was a woman until she spoke.
Kesiya stopped from the leader of the kids, a boy, a bit brawny and looked like he had a cocky attitude. She stood there for a few moments letting her presence fill the space between her and him as she observed the tree with which the children had climbed over the wall. He spoke first. "If any of you harm us, my father-" Kesiya stopped observing the tree, glaring down at him as means of cutting him off. The boy's name was Terrence Vala, he was the son of the governor of Iziz. The king might rule over the entire planet, but the day to day affairs of the city itself was left to a man named Roel Vala.
Kesiya sighed, drawing her lightsaber as the children gave her looks of terror. One of the other boys even screamed as she ignited it's yellow blades. Kesiya had to choke back her laughter in order to keep her composer but one of the other guards had to cover their own giggling with a fake cough. Kesiye sent the lightsaber into the air where it flew towards the tree, cutting the brace the teenagers had crossed over onto temple grounds with. The branch had to be a few hundred pounds of wood as it slammed into the stone walkway below, not even three feet from one of the guards. Kesiya smiled as her lightsaber returned to her hand. The guard in question hadn't even flinched.
The children stared at branch in awe and fear as Kesiya returned her lightsaber to her utility belt. "You will all be escorted off of the ground now. As for you Terrance, I will make sure to notify your father of how much authority he has over the Jedi Order. I wasn't aware he had any but you've made sure to put me in my place and I think your father will be most pleased to hear it." Terrence looked mortified, his face completely still as his brain tried to contemplate what his father would say to him when he got home. Kesiya didn't really plan on getting the boy in trouble, though the governor would have to be notified of the incident either way.
As the other guards led the children away, one remaining to levitate the branch over the wall off Jedi grounds and into trees beyond, Kesiya's comlink lit up. With a press of a button Kesiya could hear Doneric speaking again. "Impressive display, cutting the branch was a nice touch. Also, your needed over at the north landing zone, B13, there is a detail of guards already in position to receive a friendly arrival." A friendly arrival? If it was a Jedi there was no need for security, even if it wasn't a Jedi people always arrived after setting up an appointment. Kesiya had to admit she was curious as she made her way around the temple grounds quickly.
It was barely four minutes later as she watched the freighter land only for a child and droid to step out before the ship took off again. The guards already there moved aside as Kesiya walked up to the young girl, who couldn't have been more than nine, maybe ten, though she seemed a bit thin for ten. "My name is Kesiya Naima, Jedi Knight. I was told you've come to find out if your gifted in the ways of the Force. Mind if I know your name?" Once Kesiya made sure the child was actually Force sensitive, she'd dismiss the guards, but if she wasn't then the girl would have a constant escort until she was asked to leave. At most, if she wasn't able to use the Force, she'd be given some food and supplies, a bit of credits and sent on her way. The Jedi simply didn't have the time or resources to take in strays.
