"I know, I know! You seem to forget I've got a little Jedi training."

Jedi Knight Brienna Lanaamer called out to her droid, with just a hint of aggravation in her voice. Bri was balanced, slightly precariously, on a tree limb as she tied different colored pieces of fabric on to the branch. Satisfied that they were all on the same height, the Knight jumped down, and looked up with a nod of approval. "That should be good," she commented aloud, as her droid, NL-142, rolled up alongside and provided a similar nod of its 'head.'

The Jedi Order had gone through a rough couple of months - well, maybe years, so Bri had taken it upon herself to set up a training course in the Yavin jungle to allow for some good natured competition - and hopefully serve as a useful distraction. She'd posted on the Temple message board for any interested Jedi to join her in the jungle to test their skills. The course was set up as a race through a number of different obstacles - including log jumping over a few gorges, climbing up a cliff, swimming across a river, dispatching a Marksman training remote, before climbing up one of the tallest trees to grab the colored piece of fabric Bri had just tied up. Then a race back through the obstacles before delivering the fabric back to NL. The blonde Knight had tested the course herself, and ran the same exercises a few times a month. There was no such thing as too much training. To keep things fair, she'd race alongside and ensure no one cheated. Jedi were usually pretty honest, but the temptation to use a little creativity to beat your friends might be too enticing for some. Maybe I'm just projecting. It'll be fine.

Bri had designed the course in an oval shape, so that the ending trees were not too far from the start with the log jumps. She walked the short distance back through the foliage and found the starting area. NL rolled alongside and beeped a few words of caution.

"No, come on, it'll be fine. They'll know the limits of their own skills. And besides, you'll be there to help in case anyone gets hurt.'

The Jedi smiled at her own sarcastic joke, to which NL chose to ignore.

"I'll be running with them, so nothing to worry about," Bri added, holding her palm out. The droid's thoughts were in the right place, but in all seriousness, the Jedi knew the opportunity of injury was probably pretty low. Unless someone misjudged a jump, or underestimated the current in the river, or fell off a tree. Bri pulled out a canteen of water as they returned to the small camp at the start of the course, taking a quick sip. It was a warm day on the planet, but not overbearingly so. She'd dressed accordingly, a simple outfit of beige athletic trousers, and a grey tight tanktop. Her blonde hair was in a ponytail.

"Guess we'll wait," she commented to no one in particular, and took a seat on an appropriately placed log.

Wayson saw the post and hoped he wasn't late. He was dressed in a simple cream tunic and long brown pants that were meant for comfort than being useful. Yavin IV was the sanctuary of the Jedi and one where they all could rest when there was time for it. For any Jedi that currently wanted to help the galaxy out, there was little time for that. Still, Wayson needed to make some friends with his fellow Jedi, having been a late student Wayson had to focus more on his studies than actually making friends.

So now he wanted to check out what he had missed out for those years of training. Wayson walked out into the woods where the training course was going to take place. When he was exploring the galaxy he never felt stronger than your average man, but now with the Force and his training, he knew that the average person would struggle to keep up with him. It was the Force that gave him his strength a power that required respect and acknowledgment. Did Wayson truly use it the best way though? He never really compared himself to his fellow students so now it was time to test himself on his other Knights.

Would he be able to beat them in this race? He had little experience in running in a Jungle but he knew that the Force would guide his running but it wouldn't be perfect. He placed his hands in his pockets and walked briskly into the woods with a neutral expression on his face. Who else would show up? Was there going to be a lot of people? Hopefully, he wasn't late and that there wasn't a dress code. He only wore suits if he had to run into Senators.

Eventually, Wayson walked into what appeared into an obstacle course with a blonde human woman and an astromech droid. Wayson waved to his fellow Jedi, keeping his green eyes on the course trying to soak in the details to figure out the best route to win the race.

"Hello, names Wayson you the one that set up the race?" Wayson asked in a cool voice that didn't express much of his excitement or slight nerves at competing in a race. Her presence in the Force felt more experience and seasoned compared to his.

Leh’Min’Ayd was in bouncy spirits that morning, strong coffee in her gut, a peanut butter and banana sandwich, and after that she found her long lost lekku lotion.
It worked wonders to repel insects and also smelled like burnt raspberry which she learned from baking pie but not quite.

The rest of her came tailored in a white tanktop, a seasalt long-sleeve shirt, a yellow rain jacket, olive green convertible trousers and boots as brown as bark. She also donned a bamboo hat that provided some fantastic shade for her tendrils.

Lemonade was most impressed to find that the camp had ample shade with Yavin’s canopy cradling the Jedi gathering beneath the sun.
It was like the earth was welcoming them to sit and rest before it tests them to the limit. Winning is victory. Losing is defeat. And ya just can't dance with no feet.

Winning would be awesome but Lemon would settle for laughing her lungs out. “Hi, I’m Lem!” The girl released one hand from a backpack strap to wave at her two new friends. There was a fire going, good for keeping away ugly bugs, and she found a log made for sitting on.

Delay, the Padawan did not. Out came her backpack, up came a stick and marshmallows began to turn grey. “What say we get goin’ with a round o’ s’mores!”

It only took a few moments before Bri heard some ruffling of foliage to her left. She turned and spotted another Jedi, a young man who looked to be about the same age as her, appear out of the green. He offered a friendly wave, which Bri returned, as she got up from her seated position.

"Hello, names Wayson you the one that set up the race?"

“Hi there!” the Jedi replied cheerfully. “Brienna,” she added, extending her hand, before offering a final comment, “Bri, nice to meet you,” indicating her preferred nickname.

“And yes, I did! Hope you’ve got your stretching in?” she laughed at her own joke, bouncing on her toes and doing a few faux punches.

The Jedi was just about to start explaining the course, when she looked over and spotted a Togrutan arriving on the same path that Wayson had. A younger Togrutan Jedi - Lem - probably a padawan, waved and offered a similarly friendly introduction. However, instead of standing by the other two, she took a seat on the nearby log and didn’t hesitate to take a few snacks out of her bag, making use of the small fire.

“What say we get goin’ with a round o’ s’mores!”

“I think I’ll wait until we’re finished, but that’s for the offer,” Bri smiled in response. Yeah, that s’more is totally gonna sit like a rock in your stomach if you’re trying to run or jump. Or swim.

Bri turned and addressed the two. “Let’s wait for a few more arrivals before I explain how this all works,” she gestured with her left hand to the course behind them.

Torruye could have been in a holovid advertising the Jedi Order. Her off white padawan robes were crease-free and there wasn’t a spot on them. She wore black leggings that fit her strong legs and short boots that barely made a koise as she walked. Her light blue skin nearly reflected the light and her purple hair was pulled back with a thin strand of leather.

As she walked through the woods, she made almost no sound. Automatically, her brain identified trees and animals that scurried in front of her. She made it her job to know everything about everything.
She heard talking in the trees ahead and figured she must be close. Sure enough, she soon walked up to three others: one Togruta, a human male and a human female. Unsurprisingly, Torruye knew the human female was Brienna, and she was the one leading this little training activity.

Torri did not speak or announce her presence, she merely joined the circle and nodded in Brienna‘a direction, a small smile letting the other woman know she was happy to be here.

Making almost no sounds as she arrived, Bri spotted a young Pantoran woman appear from the bushes. She didn't offer any verbal introduction, but gave a short nod of her head and flashed a quick smile. Bri waved her hand and returned the smile. Figuring that they'd waited long enough, she decided to start with the instructions.

"Ok, let's get started with the four of us."
Bri spoke, walking to stand in the center of the group. "NL, can you bring up the map?"

The small droid rolled in front of the group of Jedi and projected a holographic version of their forest surroundings.

"So, we're right here," the Jedi pointed her finger at their location - in miniature - on the map. "Your task is to navigate the obstacles and retrieve the colored piece of fabric at the end of the course, and then race back to return to the start. Whoever gives their fabric back to NL first, wins!" The droid rolled back and forth, eager at the mention of its name.

"The first obstacle is to navigate the gorge over there," Bri pointed just off in the distance, and then to the same location on the map. "There's a few logs that'll help you get across. Its kind of a deep drop so, ya know.... be careful," she added with a short laugh. "You'll then have to swim across the river here, before making your way up the cliff." Bri traced her finger along the course on the map.

"You'll then have to beat a marksman training remote. If you brought your saber, you can use that! Only after you've dispatched the droid, can you climb up the tree and grab the fabric."
Bri continued tracing her finger along the course. "Then, race back through and bring your fabric here to NL."

"Everything make sense? Any questions?"

Bri turned and looked at the other Jedi, raising an eyebrow.

Lemon stood in the makeshift circle listening carefully to the speaker in the center, chewing bubblegum with her mouth closed and arms crossed, ready to kick butt and take names.

She followed the finger to the gorge, the bottom of which might gore her depending on which branch she decided to fall on it. The river was beyond, a cliff past that, and the fun kept going with the training droid.

Lem tapped the hilt at her waist in anticipation of getting to use it, already wondering what might happen if she in turn used it on the tree instead of climbing it. Hummm.

“Okay, let's see!” Lemon clapped. “Conquer the obstacle course. Retrieve the pretty fabric. Race to the finish line. Roger roger.”

With that, Lem left her post and stepped toward the start line, breaking into a bit of an athlete’s jig as she prepared to win.
